Re: How bad is our secondary?
^ Fantastic post jdc65. I've been wondering if Haslett and Morris both agreed on the ultra soft coverage we saw against STL? Or if Morris would have played it tight man coverage more like the NO game, and Haslett overruled him?
The Redskins played soft coverage towards the end of the NO games, and it looked like it carried over to the Rams game. |

I forgot that. What the deuce? Why go away from what's working? |
Re: How bad is our secondary?
Wilson would be a #1 on most teams in the NFL that don't have pure studs. Revis, Bailey, etc..
Man could you Imagine if we had Bailey, Rogers, Hall, Taylor, Landry.. lol Oh how times change. |

Re: How bad is our secondary?
We will have to wait until the off-season for this to change obviously but an idea of Where to start Could be sign aqib talib and draft tyrann mathieu to be our ss if he declares which I suspect he will.

Re: How bad is our secondary?
I really really really, and I mean REALLY, hate how we play such a soft zone. Today's NFL passing games are so heavily based on timing, the best ways to disrupt the timing are 1) get quick pressure on the QB and 2) press the WRs to bump them off their routes.
Maybe Haslett is afraid of doing that because our safeties aren't good enough on the back end to save the day in the event our CBs get burned on the release. Maybe Meriweather will make a difference in that regard, but I'm not holding my breath. |
Re: How bad is our secondary?
Well everyone bitched about Rodgers missing those ints and my comment was "he is breaking up the play". Well we ran him out of town.

Yeah, it's the classic "don't know what you've got till it's gone." Skins let Landry go as well; both Landry and Los were disgruntled by the time they left, which is unfortunate and is something for the organization to consider. It's a lot easier to build through free agency and the draft when you're not losing players from your current roster because they're unhappy. |
Re: How bad is our secondary?
I think both a fairly talented, but we've given Andy Dalton, Sam Bradford career days back to back.
Schneed agree with you on the soft zone. |

I feel like we've finally achieved full Shanahan-ization in Washington. The Offense has high potential and leads the league in rushing despite a 1-2 record. The defense looks completely lost. This is pretty much how the Broncos were from 2006 through 2008. |

Dont stop there, get Sam Shields too. Mathieu in the second would be a steal. |

You mean the Carlos ROGERS that left for San Francisco for pretty much the same amount of money that we offered him? |

yep, the same guy who got pissed when Danny Boy and Vinny gave D Hall a 50 million dollar contract after several games who is now a pro bowler and an integral part of the top defense in the league. Same guy we low balled. |
