Hall is probably the pay cut.
Damn good news. I was thinking that this is one way to somewhat circumvent the cap penalty, but was a perceived negative in ways the redskins did things in the past - pushing cap money to later years by converting salaries to guaranteed money up front. The biggest risk is the player(s) being cut early in the contract and increasing the redskins dead cap money.
That is standard practice by every team that it willing to spend the full cap. The penalty wasnt for moving cap money back by giving guaranteed money. It was for pulling money forward into an uncapped year. |

Not saying that this is why they were penalized. This is what they're doing now with the restructure. |

Yea ... I'd have to agree. I'm reading that J Wilson is a prime candidate for an extension to help out with the cap figure |

Woah Kemosabi! Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but I'm pretty sure Rich Tandler is saying that the Redskins "could" save money in these ways that he is ''suggesting''. I don't read this as this is going to happen. again maybe I'm wrong. |
Re: Hard Decisions: The solution to the $18MM offseason puzzle
I am just surprised, that if they have restructed that many why we have not heard anything until now...... I am sure all those agents and players would be hard pressed to be that quiet about it. If it is true it's great news, but the devil is in the details.

Got my hopes up for nothing. |

Re: Hard Decisions: The solution to the $18MM offseason puzzle
that article is just basically recapping what several others have already done on this site. Its nothing that we havent expected the skins to do for the past month or so

Re: Hard Decisions: The solution to the $18MM offseason puzzle
The legal tampering period starts this weekend, I imagine that we will see a flurry of activity with the Skins as players' agents tell them where they stand throughout. Restructures have to be the easiest of all the options to put through last minute:
BA to agent, hey does your guy mind taking 10M upfront instead of throughout the next 3 years. Agent to BA: let me check, ticktock Yeah we'll sign that |
