Has Redskins nation become so blind? An Emperor without cloths still owns this team and it seems the franchise QB is a donkey masquerading as a lion.
Snyder has sucked as an owner ever since he bought the team. This is a self evident truth. RG3 sucked balls this year. He couldn't throw, he couldn't run and he ran his mouth the entire year. There is still hope for him but I wouldn't hold my breath.
This post brings up the obvious question(s): are you related to Sally Jenkins? Even worse, are you Sally Jenkins? |
Re: Sally Jenkins Strikes Again!
Seriously.
People...this is all the imaginings of a historically insecure coach. Not one of these fairy tales has been rooted in anything but anonymous sources. That should tell you something. They come from the same set of reporters (who all happen to be friendly with our former bitch coach). Do the math.
Yes. The lack of critical thinking from the fans, especially people here on the 'Path who have inside knowledge, is flabbergasting. Until there is some sort of greater explanation of any of this nonsense beyond "anonymous sources" and the mere say-so of the three same reporters - who have KNOWN connections to the ousted 3-13 coach who we KNOW has tried to tear the organization apart as he left - then the simplest explanation is that this is a lot of crap. |

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he only speak once a week, on Wednesdays and postgame from the podium....LIKE EVERY OTHER STARTING NFL QUARTERBACK?!?! That's the required minimum for a starting QB in the NFL. He didn't do any one on one interviews once camp started (that I'm aware of), didn't do any TV or radio shows, etc. How exactly did he 'run his mouth the entire year'? I think that RG3 is really suffering from Tebow-like backlash. He was so good, so popular, so well liked, so fast that many people, sadly Redskins fans included, revel in his struggle this year. Because society is conditioned to be cynical nowadays, we are far too willing to believe anything negative connected to them. Coupled with on the field struggles it makes it so much easier to confirm whatever negative narrative you've chosen to believe. A friend of mine asked me earlier in relation to RG3 if I believe 'where there's smoke, there's fire' to which I responded, 'while there may be a fire, the question to ask is if all of the smoke is being produced by the fire or is someone hold the fan to blow whatever smoke there is in a way that it overwhelms you?' |

If RG3 was, some fans would still crush him. |

I'm pretty sure Big Haired Aristocrat is Sally Jenkins-Shanahan |

She lives in NYC also, she has one "source"...

Re: Sally Jenkins Strikes Again!
I don't think Sally is making most of this stuff up. There are people (more than one I'm sure) telling her things. Things that are, to my knowledge, untrue or exaggerated. I suspect all the people who are providing this "information" to her are no longer at RP. The problem will be if there are still some employed by the team.
RG3 is a spoiled diva, I'm sure. But so what. So fucking what. It's largely what got him to where he is today, the starting QB of a historic NFL franchise. And amazingly enough, you can be spoiled and special and still be a great teammate, still be humble. You can understand that you are (and should) be treated different based on your status and still respect the rest of the team/organization. |

Re: Sally Jenkins Strikes Again!
Well said SS. What modern day big time athlete isn't a spoiled diva to a degree? These guys don't live normal lives. People act like Griffin is some sort of anomaly.
I think Paintrain nails it too, society loves to build up celebrities and then break them back down. And of course we love a great comeback story, which inevitably is bound to happen. Griffin was so out of control popular last year the only direction to go was down, which of course happens when you lose. Watch what a winning season does. |
Re: Sally Jenkins Strikes Again!
I have to say that I am quite worried about this sabotage attempt by Sally Jenkins. It's one thing to say, "Well, that's the Washington Post for you. Don't believe everything they say." But, her article has made the Fox Sports' web page: Fox Sports
I am going to be pissed if this deters a really great coaching candidate away from coaching the Redskins next year. |

He is not the first quarterback to be spoiled, nor is he the first QB to have a special relationship with the owner. I'm over this 2013 drama BS, and ready to move on. RG3 gets the benefit of the doubt considering the QB struggles Shanahan has conjured in the past. When shit comes up next year, we can talk. But as things stand today- this is not a new source, nor it is credible. Moving on... |
Yeah meanwhile RG3 is vacationing in Hawaii right now, he's really involved.
Well yeah it was a slip, no way is he involved, but I think it shows how some of his teammates were feeling. |

Anyone who gets deterred by a Sally Jenkins article.... is not a great coaching candidate. |
