Re: Gruden/Redskins Doing Alfred Morris Dirty
This is what I feared:
Ex-Teammate: Redskins Driving Price Down on Alfred Morris « CBS DC WASHINGTON — Former Redskins defensive lineman Adam Carriker worries the team may be limiting Alfred Morris’s carries this season as an effort to reduce his free agency value next offseason. Why does he think this? The same thing happened to him in 2011, he says.
That article is utter BS. There is no way a coach or front office would deliberately sabotage a player that would result in a negative impact on what happens on the field. It is all about winning in the NFL, no coach is going to sit a pass rushing threat in a nickle situation to darken his stats. Some of these guys have huge egos and can't admit someone is better than them or their skills have diminished. No one picked up Carriker after he left the Redskins, dude is totally full of crap. No one wanted him because he could no longer play at an NFL level not because the Redskins made him look bad. |

Adam Carriker did a fine job of limiting himself. I don't think he needed much help. He had his best season in the league in 2011 and then fell off the map after that. Were the coaches trying to keep him from playing after a new contract was signed? What a little bitch.. |
Re: Gruden/Redskins Doing Alfred Morris Dirty
Bob,
It happens all the time. And the coaches do it because they don't think it's going to negatively impact winning games. So they are knowingly hurting the team. In Alf case I think it's a mix of poor coaching and desire or belief that Matt Jones might be as good or better. |
