Re: Redskins don't plan on third straight franchise tag for Kirk Cousins
The typical window to win a SB is 3-4 years, the Vikings are built to win right now. They’re in a spot where they should be pushing all of their chips to the middle of the table, not trying to save $10M. If the offer is 3 years $90M fully guaranteed I can’t see how Kirk passes that up.
........and it's close to his family. |

That's a real good point actually. |
For those who want to see a very thorough breakdown of KC, from a Vikings fan perspective, this is really good.
https://vikingsterritory.com/2018/analysis/150-million-question-kirk-cousins-worth I really was curious what Jets/Broncos/Vikings fans are saying.
I take PFF with a grain of salt, they basically are calling Cousins average, they are a joke. They had Colin Kaepernick ranked real high, that was enough for me not to pay attention to anything they have to say. |

Well that guy broke down a lot more than just PFF stats. Including watching a ton of Cousins. That said, with KC leaving, it was just what I thought was a balanced look at the pros and cons of KC. |

PFF isn't a joke, they have a different system but those guys watch film 24/7.

Re: Redskins don't plan on third straight franchise tag for Kirk Cousins
The Vikings are stupid if that amount of money is accurate. He'll never ever live up to that contract. The smart thing to do is resign Keenum and try and keep that chemistry they had going. The next best thing in free agency rarely works. History proves that.

Re: Redskins don't plan on third straight franchise tag for Kirk Cousins
That review of Cousins that CRed posted is the best thing I've ever read on him. It summarizes him absolutely perfectly, breaking down all the reasons why he's good, and breaking down all the reasons why he doesn't elevate the team around him to greater things.
What an excellent piece. It leaves the reader pondering the ultimate question: if you're the Vikings, is it worth it to make him the highest paid player in the NFL, given the short supply of quality quarterbacks? Wonderfully written and well thought out. Thanks CRed for posting that. |

And if you are in a win-now mode, you don't care what happens 3 or 4 years down the road when you cannot afford an elite defense, your other skills players become expensive, and you have an above average QB that cannot carry the team on his back. But if this means potentially winning it all within the next yer or two, then I don't see why they wouldn't do it. |
So how isn’t all this noise considered tampering?? Clearly teams and players are talking
Yeah It's called the NFL gives zero fucks about the skins. If that was the steelers u would see an uproar |

Like I said earlier, if you’re the Vikings you push all your chips to the middle of the table and go for it. You don’t put the next couple years of golden opportunities in the hands of a discounted journeyman. Pay Kirk and take your best shot. |
Re: Redskins don't plan on third straight franchise tag for Kirk Cousins
A shame that April Fools is 3 1/2 weeks away. a 3 pm Franchise Tag announcement would have rocked the NFL!

But is it enough? Is Kirk that guy? If he goes to Minnesota we'll all get to find out. If he goes to the Jets, we won't. lol |
