Re: 2022 veteran QB options
Here's another red flag: Even Frank Reich couldn't help him to improve his game. Look, let's not toy with the idea of signing Wentz. Wentz is D.O.N.E. as an NFL QB. He is absolutely terrible and there is no magic wand that can revive his NFL career. Did anybody on this site even watch his miserable failures last season?
I don't want him, but saying Wentz is terrible is out there. 94.6 passer rating, 27:7 INT-TD ratio isn't terrible. Yes he kind of went to pieces towards the end of the season and hasn't ever lived up to his potential (maybe never will). But he's not even in the bottom 10 so calling him terrible is silly. Right now if you said to me you only had 3 choices at QB, say Wentz, Trubiskey or Mariota, I'd have to go with Wentz. I'm not saying that's a realistic scenario, but Wentz is not the worst option out there. |
Re: 2022 veteran QB options
I agree with Anon, Wentz can play but he finds a way to get lit up every week.
You can't count on this guy to play every game. |
Re: 2022 veteran QB options
I disagree. He's a winner. He has just been unavailable or playing with injuries too often.
I definitely wouldn't consider the 49ers 2019 and 2021 defenses (the last two years they went deep into the playoffs with Jimmy G) "Monster D's". They were good - maybe top 10, but far from Monster.
I hope this conversation doesn’t continue with him wearing the B & G. Lol. |
Re: 2022 veteran QB options
So many red flags with Wentz... I'd only look at him as a last resort

A QB needs to find ways to win games for his team. Mariota is the only one of the three you mentioned that I would consider. |

We could do a lot worse (and maybe we will). |

I don't want to imagine what Snyder comes up with next at the QB position. |

Seriously. And he is a mark around the league for being a complete fool. How do you let Andy Reid get you twice? |
Re: 2022 veteran QB options
It isn’t only who we might sign, but what we would have to give up. Id take Wentz for a six pack as opposed to Jimmy G for a beer truck full.
Yes it is 7:51 AM, and yes I want a beer. |

i rather TH over Wentz, if you get Wentz he will be hurt in a few weeks and you are playing TH anyways. Winston the only only one in that tier i take a swing at. |
