Some analysis of Jameson Williams who may have missed it.
No offense to Dotson, hopefully he turns out to be a great player. But this dude was the best player in the draft and I felt we should have drafted him. He just killed Georgia ( and many others) who basically had an NFL defense. |

This dude is a baller glad we got him

Re: Welcome Jahan Dotson, WR PSU - 1st Round Pick
I graded the trade down a B. At this point, I think the move rates an A.
p.s. I don't know why I felt the impulse to post the above at this late date. |

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotsonhas been named the Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Week. Dotson, who the Commanders selected with the No. 16 overall pick in April, recorded three catches for 40 yards and two touchdowns, one of which helped seal the team's 28-22 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was the first rookie receiver to record two-plus touchdowns in a Week 1 contest in franchise history. "I knew since I was a little kid that I wanted to do this and excel at the highest level," Dotson said of his touchdowns. "I devoted all my time throughout high school, throughout college making sure that I was ready for this moment." Re: Welcome Jahan Dotson, WR PSU - 1st Round Pick
Got him in the 1st round, and accumulated additional picks in doing so.
Don't get to say this often: Job well done Commanders! |

Yeah, barring injuries, I just don't see him not becoming a very good receiver. He is cut from the same cloth as McLaurin. And that's like the ultimate compliment. |
Re: Welcome Jahan Dotson, WR PSU - 1st Round Pick
My con with Terry was I didnt think he could high point the ball and win 50/50s .. to be that truly prime time receiver. I was wrong, Terry wins so many contested catches (led league) .. maybe not Moss style but he comes down 80% of the time on 50/50 balls
Dotson seems to be a clone. Hands from god, head/eyes always tracking ball, ability to contort body while running full speed and diving through air. Hell be coming off his rookie deal right when Terry (27 yrs old) turns the corner on 30 and his contract expires. |
Re: Welcome Jahan Dotson, WR PSU - 1st Round Pick
They basically took that # 11 draft pick and the #189 draft pick and got J Dotson, B Robinson, S Howell, and C Turner.
Sick. |

Sick.
Yeah it really is. Dotson should be great. Love his hands especially and think he'll be adept at getting open consistently for sure. Excited to see what he can do against Detroit and the rest of our opponents. |

For everything Jamin Davis isn't, Jahan Dotson is. Not trying to shit on Jamin either - I still think he has time to get it together but obviously Ron and JDR are pointing the finger at him right now when really they should be pointing the finger at everyone including themselves. But Jahan Dotson - the last time I felt this good about a first rounder 2 games into his rookie season was Sean Taylor. |

We have some good weapons. The defense needs to add quite a few guys, starters and depth wise, and get coordinated by someone other than JDR. I don't see Rivera getting fired, so it's up to him to bring a new DC in, if this year keeps playing out like the 1st 2 weeks. |
Re: Welcome Jahan Dotson, WR PSU - 1st Round Pick
I’m convinced the D woes are 80 % JDR fault … If NOT then It’s 100% on whoever drafted these players .. look it’s not the players .. it’s the scheme .

I agree that with just replacing JDR only, the defensive production would definitely increase. |
