wow, 3rd miss... i had him going two spots later :(
And Kiper was right

bleh, the whitner miss is on the bills (off the board pick), but i should have seen the lions needs at LB and dolphins TOTAL lack of safety talent. my bad.

That Guy 04-29-2006 02:51 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

vikes need RB, OLB, CB depth most. WR isn't a huge need, but their guys are all B grade right now. outside shot at j williams or j joseph.

That Guy 04-29-2006 02:56 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

cowboys:
too early to take OG, the WRs here are tempting, but lawson fills a slightly bigger need. ryans might also make some sense.

lawson/c jackson.

14/17

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

If the Boys take Manny Lawson, they will be stuck in the 3-4 for the next 5-6years, well after Parcells leaves.

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

Greenway is good value for Minn at that pick

Skins_4_Lyfe 04-29-2006 03:00 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

Julius Jones is terrible the Cowboys need a RB, but it may be too early to take White or Williams. They'll probably go defense again and take Lawson.

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:00 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

lawson could be a good 4-3 OLB, but he can be a MONSTER 3-4 rush OLB.

Big C 04-29-2006 03:02 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

man. i really hope dallas doesnt get deangelo williams. they were dumb to pass on stephen jackson the other year, theyd be even dumber to pass on williams.

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:03 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

chargers need DBs bad, and also need a killer WR. they might need a ILB if they're tossing donnie edwards, but they'll probably make a play for that guy later. WR makes the most sense for value here, but a DB (williams/cromartie/j joseph) is very possible.

Don't worry...Dallas doesn't draft offense in the first round.

they have bigger needs and already said they aren't looking at RBs. the pats may be his spot.

bit high for carpenter

Big C 04-29-2006 03:05 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

hmmm...cowboys got bobby carpenter. passed on lawson and williams, must say i am pleased

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:06 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

damn, right position, wrong choice. surprised he went before ryans and lawson, but he's a good LB.

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:06 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

lawson probably goes at 22 to the 49ers or chiefs now.

GTripp0012 04-29-2006 03:06 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

Ok, I think Justice goes off the board here to SD.

Skins_4_Lyfe 04-29-2006 03:07 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

Well it seems as if Thomas Howard will be the next OLB to go...we'll probably go with a CB

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:07 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

winston justice is still on the board... he's a top 15 talent... maybe a chief? they'd prefer a DE or CB first though.
Ok, I think Justice goes off the board here to SD.
it'd be great talent wise, but WR and DB are much bigger needs for them right now.

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:09 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

chargers: WR/DB (jackson/holmes, williams/cromartie/joseph) outside at justice.
chiefs: lawson, DB (j williams/cromartie/j joseph), outside shot at a WR.

Big C 04-29-2006 03:09 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

chiefs have to go defense, though their O line is old

Big C 04-29-2006 03:11 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

lol that cut scene before commercial of the random guy running into the blocking sled over and over...funny stuff

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:13 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

pats likely to go RB, OLB (both positions are very old) or possibly WR
49ers will depend on whose left at WR/justice/lawson/OLB/DB

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:16 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

i think the chargers DB is probably a CB, and they might take cromartie here... if not, its probably joseph. cromartie can be a WR too, so he can fill both needs :P

GTripp0012 04-29-2006 03:19 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

Kansas City should trade this pick. Now.

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:19 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

chiefs : CB is their biggest need, but they've said they want a DE in the 1st and a CB later... so its possible they take lawson over j jospeh here. williams is more of a FS and they need a cover guy to start

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:20 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

best talent is justice, lawson, j joseph, jackson right now.

81forHOF 04-29-2006 03:22 PM
winston justice is still on the board... he's a top 15 talent... maybe a chief? they'd prefer a DE or CB first though.
i think Justice continues to drop......to mid to late 2nd rnd.

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:23 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

20. lawson/j joseph/c jackson

16/19... i like the cromartie pick, the chargers have been awful picking CBs though.

81forHOF 04-29-2006 03:24 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

Cromaritie was the first of my Skins prospects to go. Definately a high risk/high reward pick at this spot.

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread
i think Justice continues to drop......to mid to late 2nd rnd.
he won't drop that far. saints and texans will take him early in the 2nd. the problem he has right now is that bad teams need OTs more than good ones, and the only bad team is the 49ers before the 2nd round starts.

81forHOF 04-29-2006 03:27 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

That Guy.....I had a great idea for a mock draft next year. I'll PM you about it after a couple more beers.

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

Tamba Hali, I really like that pick.

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:29 PM

Re: Official 2006 NFL Draft Thread

23 (bucs): justice (OT), j williams

well, i was right, the chiefs take DE here and CB next pick. but i picked the wrong guy. (lawson is more a OLB than DE). hali is a 2nd round talent, but his interview apparently was unbelieveable.

That Guy 04-29-2006 03:29 PM
