Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
Pathetic showing.. OL, DL were dominated, clearly out coached today.. Williams was WAY too conservative..

Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
again, i don't think brunell is the problem. it's the guy calling pass plays on 3rd and 1, and kicking a field goal instead of going for it on 4th and 1 that is to blame. i'm obviously stuck on those two calls.
Seriously, WTF is up with that? Down 13 points with 5 or 6 minutes to go and you go for a field goal?? |
Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
Also, don't let off the O-line. They played terrible today after a great outing against Jax.

Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
We all expected more today coming off our last two performances. It's obvious we're struggling with consistency. There's enough blame to go around today as we have not played well in any phase of the game. There's going to be a lot of finger pointing, but the bottom line is no one played well today. Just one of those days.

Not to sound crushingly pessimistic, but this makes us 0-2 against the division and drops us to the bottom regardless of who wins the Dallas-Philly game. That's a HUGE hole to climb out of to ever make it to the playoffs. |

Still alot of football to go, but it definitely puts the pressure on to take care of our business in the division down the stretch. |

Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
i just dont get it. what the hell is wrong with our defense? we finally have the same coaching staff for more than 1 yr at a time, majority of D returns. Im just completly SHOCKED at the play of our D. Combine the poor play of the D with suspect play calling, lack of effort and execution and you get exactly what we got today. One person is not to blame, thats a fact. One of the things that really pissed me off was watching lavern arrington smile from ear to ear at end of game. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!
|
Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
I could definately see us going 3-7. I could also see us going 7-3. You simply do not know which Redskins team is going to show up week to week.
|
Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
I could give a rats ass about Arrington, the guy hasn't done anything for the Giants and the NY fans are already complaining about him. Screw him and his totally self-absorbed ass. He's a total ham.

Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
This isn't just one player. This is the entire fucking team. Can you name one positive that came out of today's game? No. I can't believe how bad our defense has looked. I guess it just shows how badly we need Springs. That and how much we miss Prioleau in passing situations.

Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
I could definitely see us losing to the Titans next week. They played great against Indy today.

I'm sure we all share in your observation, and it does put us in a very precarious situation going foreward. However today is gone, we can't bring it back or change it. It's still a lot of football to be played yet, and I agree we can ill afford more days like today. |

Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
Giants with a bye week at home had an L written all over it. I can deal with the loss but the only intensity the Skins displayed was on when the Giants were kneeling down at the end of the game. Here's a suggestion...a little less bark during the week by players/coaches, a little more bite during the game...
|
Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
I hate to say it, but it appears the coaching staff wasn't ready for toay's game. There was no reason fro anything but inspired play after the way last week's game vs. the Jags ended. We looked old, slow and disinteresting today. It was a sad performance.
|
Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
Titans starting a rookie at qb. No way the skins lose this game. GW will do some soul searching and realize that he calling the D way too soft. I know we are not blitzing as much because of our beat up secondary, BUT blitzing can also take pressure off the secondary.
Memo to GW, grab your testicle detector and find your balls, so you will call more blitzes next week. |
Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
I don't know if you guys realized this, but the two big plays to Toomer and Burress happened even though we had direct pressure on the qb. It's not that we're not blitzing enough, it's that Eli Manning was able to get the ball off before we got to him, and our secondary didn't cover the wide receivers well enough.

Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
Geez, what a mighty big FORK stuck in our ass. I am getting calls from the Bengals of the 1990's asking if I would like to cheer for their team and better playoff chances than for the Skins.

Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
I had a feeling we would lose this one. I'm not happy about it, but we didn't get totally smashed like last year. It just wasn't out day today....

Yeah, what a tool - he had a whopping 1 tackle today. I couldn't get over how he celebrated when he deflected that pass. It was like he just won the Super Bowl, married Jessica Alba and found Jimmy Hoffa's body all at the same time. It's a deflected pass dude, calm the hell down. |
Re: 10/8/06: Washington Redskins (2-2) at NY Giants (1-2)
did we even scout the giants for tendencies?
we do tend to beat the crap out of lower tier teams, so i'm not so worried about the titans, but without prings fully healthy by week 9, things could get harsh. I've kinda given up on the indy game already... we'll just have to hope for plenty fo turnovers with the secondary we've got right now. |
