Anyway jsarno, to answer your question, I manage a sports bar here in Gainesville called the Sloppy Gator. It's a cool place, and the owners are good people. I was in the restaurant industry the entire time I was in college, and I've been in it ever since I graduated, so I am ready for a change. My girlfriend of 4 years and I are moving back to the DC (Gaithersburg, MD) area in July. That's where all my closest friends and family live. My best friend is branch manager of a mortgage broking company, and I'll be working with him. It's a new industry to me, so I'm looking forward to the challenge. My girlfriend is a personal trainer, and she will be starting her Master's degree at George Mason in August. Should be good times. And I get to go to EIGHT skins games this year!

It seems like people in that business for an extended period of time, tend to want to stay in that business. If you enjoyed your owners and restaurant, I'd be leary of moving, but understand the part about family and friends. Without family and friends, what do you have? Re: The talk about anything cuz your up real late and tired of draft talk thread.
I'm not really worried about leaving my current job. There are so many restaurants and bars in the DC area. If the mortgage broker thing doesn't work out, I can always find a job in the restaurant industry. I just NEED to branch out and try something new.
George Mason is a pretty good school from what I've heard. My friend's wife went there and liked it very much. My girlfriend's Masters is something in the Health & Exercise Science field. The actual name of the degree is like 10 words long, I forget exactly what it is and she's working right now so I can't ask her. Yeah, I'm pretty lucky to be able to go to the Skins games. My dad has two season tix, and he only goes to 4-5 of the games. He's letting me have at least one of the tickets for every game. I CAN'T WAIT! I've been living in Florida for 7 years now, and have only been to 2 Skins games over that span. We better be good!!:thumb: |

I can understand that. Good luck to you. I can tell you, you are entering an ENTIRELY different world. If you are good at adaptation, you'll be fine. My one tidbit of advice is, if your going to go after it, go after it with all you got. It's better to just put your head down and get it done. Let nothing stop you. I really feel we are heading for a rebound. It seems like when people count us out, the SKins pull through. When we had 10 wins a couple years ago, everyone said we would win 4 or 5 games max. Last year they said we would win the division if not, we would at least make the playoffs...and we sucked. So hopefully everyone will write us off again this year, and to this point I have heard of no one that is giving us a chance. PERFECT. Well, hooskins put a ban on us talking on this til after ten. Talk to you later. haha. |

Hey what company are you working for? I was a mortgage broker for about a year prior to leaving the states. It's a very fun industry, although times are kind of lean right now with the subprime market in free fall. Still, if you get in with the right firm there's always good money to be made. What I loved about sales was the way that, like sports, it was possible to materially qualify your performance. Office politics took a back seat to monthly and yearly numbers. You didn't have to kiss anyone's ass, just produce. Anyway, I'd love to hear more about where you will be working and what you will be doing. |

I plan on going to law school eventually but wasn't really ready for that grind yet. I had an opportunity to get a great job teaching English over here - basically a sinecure - and took it. I lived in Okinawa for 3 years as a child and always wanted a chance to come back. I have absolutely no regrets, in spite of having taken a paycut. The girls are smoking hot and think I'm hung like a pornstar. And the food is good too! |

I like vehicles with low maintanence. He even has a intercooler timer on it and can't shut the car off for like 30 seconds after he turns the key off. |

Mine is set at 3 1/2 minuites. I can override it if I haven't been driving it hard. But, you have got to be carefull with that. |

Not trying to change the subject, but I think that Smootsmack might be catching up on some much needed sleep after last night. Either that or his girlfiend made it into town already.

You need to let it cool gradually so that you don't crack the block. You live in NM, so it doesnt have to cool down so long. In the winter here I have to let it gradually cool down longer. If I cut it off too soon then I will have problems. To be honest, I think that is what may have caused my turbo leak. |
Re: The talk about anything cuz your up real late and tired of draft talk thread.
What doesnt shut off after you turn the key off? And what does intercooler exactly do? I understand that the benifit is not cracking your block, but I dont understand whats going on, I guess...

I think that you are under the impression that the intercooler and the turbo timer are the same thing. To put it very simply, the I/C is like and extra radiator, but for the turbo system. The turbo timer is and extra computer that tell your car how much longer to run after you shut it off. |

OK, then after you turn your car off the motor still runs for 3min or x amount of time until your cars motor returns to its normal running temp? |
