Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Well, 44 seconds from the Chase Daniel era.
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Too bad we're already stacked on the D-line, hopefully we can keep Dixon on the practice squad.
I feel like we've been practicing to avoid injuries, but not to get ready. I'm fine with that as long as the pace picks up throughout the rest of the pre-season. We just seemed not as sound and ready to go. Even with our early subs. It looks like it's our 3rd string vs. Ravens 2nd string. |
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Man, none of the young DBs are doing well, Doug Dutch just got beat on that one. He got bailed by the holding call.

Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
How much urgency can one expect from a team whose GM was wearing a Notre Dame shirt on TV today? The disaster you see on the field is a Vinny Cerrato production. One wonders if his parents had any children that lived. Until we rid ourselves of this incompetent simpleton we will continue to suffer. Go back to Notre Dame you worthless ****face.

So the problem is the talent (or lack thereof) assembled of the field? Basically they're not accountable because they're just not good to begin with? |

Its the first game of the preseason. We'll only improve |
The Cult of Colt just took a big blow. Maybe Chase Daniel will lead the come back...and we'll never hear the end of it from SS.
Well he did get crushed when he threw. I think that John Elway, Brett Favre, Johnny Unitas and Joe Montana would have looked bad tonight. It seems to me that there is an energy boost when Pinapple Je5us is out ther. |
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
These boys on defense are not going to have fun with Blache after game/at next practice... terrible tackling & coverage
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
But let me say now the big winners in my eyes tonight...
M Kelly, Orakpo, Dixon |

I find it hard to blame Vinny for this. The o-line problems are due to a philosophical deficiency to drafting and signing lineman. Honestly, just thinking about it briefly it seems to me that we have been patching the o-line for years and years. They were pretty good in '06 but the defense was garbage that year (second half of '05 was pretty legit too until Betts snapped Randy's leg). |

M Kelly, Orakpo, Dixon
I agree. Kelly is an NFL talent if his knee allows him to see the field. Orakpo is going to be fun to watch this year. My worry is that linebacker is a little too much to ask right now. |
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Buges has some choice names for his OL! Think #$%&* or #@$&***@# will stick?

Yeah... Rak looked MUCH better rushing the passer than in coverage. Still not sold on why exactly they are starting him at LB. |

The problem is an environment where the executive head of the team wears Notre Dame colors on gameday. He's not accountable. He's more interested in Notre Dame's success than he is in the Redskins. People pick up on that. We need this guy to be our GM: [YT]TROhlThs9qY[/YT] |
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
I'll tell you what... Jarmon looking good now.
Rak, Dixon, Jarmon... I LIKE the way the future D-Line looks! Now, if we could only say that about the O-Line! |
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Any chance we are drawing plays in the grass , I know it is pre-season , but it looks like we are running a ... " just get open " and I will throw it ? :)
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
I hate to be petty but who was it that said Doug Dutch may unseat Smoot. Seriously? The guy is getting toasted by third stringers and Baltimore is garbage at wideout right now. Also, Barnes has a little way to go too.
Jarmon was a great pick by Vinny. It is early but I think our first supplemental draft pick was a good move. Not to be too much of a buzzkill but Vinny's best pick ever is no longer with us. We are on another planet defensively if he was still here. |
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
might as well run the wildcat with colt with all the running he's doing
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
I want to know where all of the Colt lovers are now...he looks like crap.
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Colt needs to, as Zorn would say, "stay medium" He looked to me like he's rushing a lot of plays. Certainly it's not all his fault but he needs to harness that energy of his....and get to the end of the bench, so Chase Daniel can take over!
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
agreed. This offense has looked horrible AGAIN.
I'm telling you... Zorn has yet to prove ANYTHING as a playmaker/playcaller. |

So you think the gameplan was for him to scramble all over the place and make passes while getting hit? Am I the only one who sees a common theme here? |
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
I wanna see daniels...just to hope for some damn points
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
grant should be cut asap
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
#40 Grant missed INTs on two consecutive plays!
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Just game one of the preseason. No need to panic...yet
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Right now colt sucks, as well as the offense. Zorn better lite a fire under their butts or its going to be a long season.
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Holy crap! Jayson Foster? I played against that guy in high school .
|

Me too. My boss is a Ravens fan and I really don't want to have to explain a shutout... |
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Wow. Ugly from top to bottom.
The only good thing is this should calm the "we're really good" talk. Given the other teams we play this pre-season, we may continue to look very bad. Hopefully it will wake folks up. |

Season's over, haven't you heard? When is the Draft, and when is the coin flip to determine whether we pick 1st or 2nd? |

Agreed. But that was the argument that alot of us true JC lovers argued last year. Without protection, what are you supposed to do? Everyone said "colt is a gunslinger" "he makes plays". My point is that the dude is not nearly ready for the NFL as a starter. |
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
I wanna see Suisham and Rayner get a couple live field goals.
|

Some guys just weren't ready to play. One of linebackers missed a gimmee too. |
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Well I'm waiting for Madden '10. The whole staff is wearing Ravens gear at the Gamestop.
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
This game is a complete indictment of the failed Cerrato regime. His grotesque failure is an embarrasment to all of us. How long must we endure this?
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Scott Burley is down and out... I thought we might get out without injury, but oh, well.
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
To bad Brennan isn't playing that great/his wr's arent getting open.
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
Can we cut Trung Canidate errrr Grant immediately?
|
Re: Redskins vs Ravens Gameday thread
It will be interesting to see how they respond after tonight. They better find a way to fix the o-line and the other stupid stuff they have done tonight.
