Re: Fantasy Tips
Quick! Ryan Mathews (Cin) or Peyton Hillis (Ari)? Both are home games...
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
Hillis for sure.
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
any thoughts on starting McNabb or Eli Manning?
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
Foster still owning Jones-Drew, although Jones-Drew did well this week.
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
Ryan Matthews @ OAK or Torain vs. GB
both have piss poor run defenses... GB is 24th i believe and OAK can't be anywhere higher after what TEN and HOU did to them... |
Re: Fantasy Tips
I traded Chris johnson for Arian foster and Jermichael finley last week... Very happy I did so. My whole league still thinks I was a moron though
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
Picked up Ryan Torain as insurance for Portis on Saturday. Benched both of them for the Eagles/Skins game. This week? Probably cutting Portis and starting Torain, wow this fantasy stuff is week to week, and unpredictable.

Re: Fantasy Tips
Ok, fantasy advice,... is it time to trade Tom Brady now that he has lost Moss? Or will his production be about the same, just throwing to more guys. Obviously he didn't do much Monday, because he didn't have to with the Pats D and Special Teams. What do you guys think? Oh, I have Kyle Orton as my back-up, whom I could easily ride for awhile.

Don't worry, m8. Foster is actually on pace to having a 2100 yard season right now. I grabbed him during the offseason based on Rotowire that he won the starting job. All 6 of my Yahoo teams are pretty deep at RB because I've been aggressive on the waiver wire. |

I still think you ride him out... Miami's defense is really good this season and like you said, NE's special teams did much of the work (remember, Brady could have had a second td if Moss caught the short pass in the end zone and if chung didn't run that blocked punt in, that could have very easily turned into a Brady score). Also, Brady had success through the air before moss... with guys like Branch and Patterson as his weapons. He'll be able to spread the ball out and it looks like Ben Tate may be serviceable. The receivers won't get the solo coverage they enjoyed without Moss, however. |

I like this trade for you. You just picked up a top 3 TE that performs close to a WR1, in addition to a top-5 running back. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
solid trade...too many people get caught up on CJ, AF and JF will be STUDS the rest of the year. laugh at them when you beat that ass son!

Re: Fantasy Tips
How about this - I need to cut some guys at the bottom of my roster to make room for back-up QB or TE. We play 3 WR's, 1 RB and a RB/WR flex. Its a PPR league (.5 per reception; 1pt per 25 yards receiving/rushing).
Here's my RB's and WR's: Colston (WR1) Royal (WR2) Garcon (intended to be my WR3 alternating with Harvin depending on matchup but not really panning out). Harvin (same as above - Moss prolly helps him until Rice comes back) M. Wallace (I think he is going to explode once Ben gets back) Brandon Tate (Picked him up this morning - Question is what will he do now that Moss is gone). RB's: Turner (RB No.1 - but not lighting any fires yet) Torrain M. Torbert (Outperforming the rookie Mathews, but does he keep the job?) Ricky Williams Thomas Jones I am leaning towards ditching Williams, Jones, Harvin and/or Garcon when my QB, TE or K goes on bye. (They happen at different times so I really only need to clear one spot). Any thoughts? |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Garcon will be lucky to get in much with Wayne and Collie. He's doomed.
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
ditch Garcon, but I don't like it, i'd hang on to your RB's bro. Tolbert isn't ever going to take over Matthews, but he's great right now. I'd dump him before RW or TJ.
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
Another one of those tough decisions people would like to have.
Jamaal Charles or Peyton Hillis? Jamaal Charles or Ahmad Bradshaw? I'm not repeating myself, as I've got more than one team to manage. |

Which two of these three: Turner v. Cleve Torbert v. Oakland Torrain v. G.Bay
none of those D's can stop anyone on the ground. i would go with turner and either of the other two... it's a toss up. in the league i have Ry Matthews in im starting him just cause i'm going to start to enforce a "start when facing oakland" rule. i think its a harder decision for you than it is for me... tolbert wont get as many touches i dont think, but torrain has that kind of unknown factor about him. im going with a wait and see with torrain. |

I'd go with Michael Turner as well. I have him in my league, but I'm hating the spliting carries things with Snelling. Plus Turner doesn't catch any balls. I have Forte as well, you know how that's working out for me! I picked Torrain and he will start this week ahead of Forte that's for sure. |

Which two of these three: Turner v. Cleve Torbert v. Oakland Torrain v. G.Bay
1. Torain (1 'r') - He's the main guy and GB's D is injury-depleted. 2. Turner - Only because he hadn't been 100% and Snelling should steal some carries 3. Torbert - Matthews is healthy, just not getting carries. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
I traded Chris johnson for Arian foster and Jermichael finley last week... Very happy I did so. My whole league still thinks I was a moron though
Good job. Foster is way outplaying Johnson so far and in the end should be close. CJ is going to be nowhere his 2500 yard prediction, he's on pace for more like 1400. Finley could be the top TE in the NFL by year-end, he's Rodgers' favorite target it seems. Solidifying the TE spot for you puts this trade in your favor. |

Re: Fantasy Tips
if you have ryan matthews you start him this week...no questions asked.
torain also gets a start if you have him too. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
So my Stillers defense has a bye.
My other two choices are: Tampa's D v. Cincy or Panthers v. Chi. Which one? |
So my Stillers defense has a bye.

Which one?
At first glance, Carolina would be the obvious answer... but I think Chicago's going to play a bit more conservative with Collins in there. No O-line means short dumpoffs and Forte/Taylor in the mix. Tampa's coming off a bye and Palmer's been looking shaky this season... TO just had a monster game, but I like the Bucs scoring more than the Panthers' D this week. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
I've got to start a second WR behind Andre Johnson in a ppr league (please be healthy AJ!)
Currently starting TB's Mike Williams against Cincy's D. I usually start Maclin, but I'm wondering if San Fran's defense is going to go crazy Sunday night against Kolb (desperate for a win and all... no Lesean scares me too). Pierre Garcon is on my bench and he's back this week against a flimsy KC secondary. Do I stick with Mike? |

Re: Fantasy Tips
My $ league team is so F'd. I must have forgot to save my lineup Sat. night because I logged in around 1pm on Sunday to find that I had no starting defense (Cincy +13 points) and Steve Smith was still on the bench at WR (+12 points). LOL
I really might not win a game. At least I have my work league to fall back on, I'm 4-1 and tearing it up in that one. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Tell me you started the Bucs.
Sure did. They gave me 14 pts. Good call. So I'm dropping the Bucs this week and back to my starting Stillers defense. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Epic choke by Foster. MJD may be on the upswing.
|

MJD has had 1 good game this year. 1.

Oh, I know. It's just that this is the first week he's owned Foster. I had the sense to bench him during the early part of the season. :D |

him and ryan matthews together have, so far, ruined my money league team. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
Matthews has been a dud so far, I took him 8th overall in my $$ league and he's definitely helped add to my overall suckage.
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
Matthews is killing me too...F Norv :)
|
Re: Fantasy Tips
I am getting killed my freaking Drew Breezy weezy... I am about to start Kyle Orton next week, (not this week against the jets)
Ocho sucks too. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
I started Kyle Orten (I picked him up in Week 2) for Tom Brady last week and Brady may ride my bench for awhile. Kyle is pretty consistent.
Are any of you guys looking ahead with your fantasy teams to Week 8? Man, that is a bad week for me with Byes. Its seems like a lot of the good teams are off that week, and I am struggling for RB replacements. I have Turner, and Forte and they are both off that week. |
Re: Fantasy Tips
After checking out the final number of fantasy points accrued by rookie RBs over the last two years on Yahoo!, I think that most rookie RBs aren't going to dominate. They CERTAINLY will not be at the top of the league. It's the RBs in their second or third years that you can HOPE that will come out with a breakout season(I see, Ray Rice, although having no receivers around you also helped). I'm definitely going to test the waters with this strategy next year.
Jahvid Best, here I come. :D Now, I'm just freaking glad I chose Jamaal Charles in some of my leagues over lolShonnGreene. I knew Sanchez was going to wake up. :D |
