Call me crazy but I'm actually pretty happy that Locker didn't play well, at least passing wise, against Nebraska. I mean the guy already has four years of tape, so technically the impact of a meaningless bowl game should be minimal. Plus thanks to the large sample size we can actually get a better idea of what type of player we'll be drafting come April, unlike certain QB's that are currently protected by small sample sizes. By the way I'm actually pulling for a certain QB to blow up at a certain Fiesta so his stock is JaMarcus Russel high by the time April roles around.

Not to mention the fact that we now won't only have to trade up but now we might even be able to trade back and recoup draft picks.

Anyway the fact of the matter is that there were probably a lot of teams that were already gunshy about Locker and the teams lacking great offensive coaches/system/players are probably going to end up looking elsewhere for a signal caller.

Suh is a frickin' animal but remember, we're running a 3-4 defense and a guy like him really would waste his talent in that style of defense. We need big stout linemen that can keep blockers off of the linebackers. Another pass rushing LB is a need and a damn free safety would be nice. A play making receiver would be helpful and interior offensive line help is an absolute must.

I was watching the Fla. PSU game and I think the center from Fla would be a PERFECT fit here. His name is Pouncey, his bro plays and starts for Pittsburgh. High character guy, he's a leader, he can play both guard and center, he's fast as hell...guy was pulling a ton, this would be the perfect pick. Outside of Luck none of these QB's do anything for me. I say get some linemen first.

Small little 9,000 student TCU is really impressive. Their defense is well coached and very disciplined. I like their LB's and safety's play. They fill so well in the run game.
I also like how hard and well their RB's run.

I like the kid but he's simply not worth taking in the first two rounds. No way. Rogers was a first round talent.

I am not sure how many seniors are in the Wisconsin Badger O line, but those guys should get a nice look. Pouncy is a first round selection, albeit a late rounder.

I still think we should take a chance on Gabbert, Persa, or someone like them in 2012. Guys that might not be marquee guys, but solid performers.

Dalton deserves a look. He is a decent passer, good improviser, has speed, and can run very well. He actually is a redheaded Dan Persa, but on a better team. Landry from OU looks just as solid as Sam did almost. He is another future possibility, if we chose to wait to draft a QB.

Carimi and Moffit out of Wisconsin are both seniors and All Americans to boot. Both over 300lbs. Carimi was the Outland Trophy winner. I say go for the guard(Moffitt) first guys. Both these guys are beasts though. Carimi played left tackle, thus he probably won't be around. I am thinking maybe secure Pouncey first then see if Moffitt is available.

I came here after watching the high lights. Yes I know their high lights but I then did a little looking into this kid and was impressed with his stats.

I'll be the first to admit I usually don't watch college ball so there might be other QB's out their who are better and play in harder teams all year but just watching the Dalton kid and his speed, size, and arm strength just impressed me. I could not help but watch him and think he might be perfect for KS's scheme here with the Skins.

and if he is a mid draft QB good for us we can pick up a Center, RT, or NT in the 1st round and 2nd round, and maybe with some luck in dropping down to pick up more picks we can actually get this kid. We could hopefully trade McNabb for another late rounder, get what we can from AH, and if nothing else combine some picks to move up to pick up one of these QB's.

9,000? That can't be right. Wow, some of the SoCon schools in the FCS are bigger then that.

gabbert will be a bust in my opinion, gut feeling. he doesnt impress me as much as the guys at espn hype him up to be. also, people seem to think gabbert would be a first round pick, at least i feel like ive seen that somewhere. and persa is a very good college qb but his style probably doesnt transfer to the pros well. less than ideal size at 6-1 205 and his main strength is running the football.

Probably right, but my reasoning is that we won't have a high enough pick to garner the cream of the crop with QB, and we need to get some very good linemen, especially guards. IF we were to go QB in the next two drafts these guys would be the ones most likely available to us. You have to think if we do improve next year record wise we will be probably picking around 12-15. If Mallet stays for his senior year and comes out for 2012 he will be out of reach. A guy like Persa would be an upper mid rounder.

His passing stats are pretty solid though. He was on pace to shatter the Big Ten passing percentage record til he tore his Achilles. If he played through, Northwestern would have garnered a better record, bowl game, and maybe a bowl win. Many had him picked for the Big Ten MVP. Plus the guy is smart as hell. If I am not mistaken, he already is in grad school. If Philly thought enough about Kafka to draft him, why couldn't we take a shot at Persa. Persa is a way better passer than Kafka was, and he loves the weight room. He won "The Big Cat" award for his work in the weight room. I know it is a gamble, but shoot any draft pick is a gamble.

Not that this will at all be the same come draft day, as it stupidly will change like the weather, but... Currently Scouts Inc.'s Top 32 in the draft on ESPN has the #9 overall player as DE adrian Clayborn out of Iowa. #10 is Stephen Paea, DT out of Oregon State.

From the numbers I just ran (which mind you could be wrong) using W/L % and SOS:

We will be 11th if the Rams win.

We will be tied for 9th/10th if the Seahawks win (coin flip).

The interesting thing is that if the Rams win, they're the 4 seed. If they lose, they pick 11th.

Edit: The coin-flip would be with Dallas!

How could that be? Both are 6-10 and strength of schedule I believe is also the same and the Cowboys have a better division record than the Redskins. I think they are wrong.

I believe it's W/L record, then SoS, Then Division and Conference W/L, not sure in which order. Dallas having a better record than us in those means they pick later than us.

A Seattle Loss pushes all the 6-10 teams down a spot except maybe San Fran. Any team out of the NFC west will have a terrible SoS.
