Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
Slightly OT but I didn't want to start a new thread on the topic. Does anyone feel like Kurt Warner is a little biased against any and all QB's? I don't know why but I feel like he's ultra critical of anyone that isn't an UDFA fighting for their very life.
Like one second he was talking about how Cam Newton needed to learn how to work hard and be dedicated to learn the playbook, then after Florio said there were reports of Newton working with Weinke for 12 hours a day Warner started talking about working smart. Maybe I'm overanalyzing but for some reason I don't like Kurt Warner the analyst.
No your probably correct. All he's doing is spitting what almost every other media pundit pushed down our throats.... that Newton was not a very hard worker. He could have probably answered a lot better then he did. In other words instead of working out with some hack teaching him to throw better or take a better drop back he could have been studying the plays and working with his WR's. But like you said I'm guessing no matter what was said he would still have said Newton needs to work harder and smarter. Maybe he just feels like the UDFA's need to work extra hard to prove their worth and the drafted QB's don't work as hard because they already know they have a job. I don't know, he's an idiot. |

So it's not that he's against first round picks he's just a raging racist :D Though the more likely explanation is he can't say anything bad about a QB working under his boy Mike Martz. |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
you know, orton would be a good signing here... but i don't think that's going to happen.
I think we resign rex, moss and brown, we make a play for another WR (though the most likely guys we could get without throwing a billionty dollars would be Br Edwards or Pl Burress). I think jenkins is pretty likely, then we need an OT/OG type, a starting CB, and a good LB and DL guy, though both could be more mid level. I'd love tulloch or similar at LB, and at CB rogers is probably the most efficient buy, though again, I think the skins are letting him walk... which means we need to get somebody, cromartie, ike or JJ being the most likely. For OL, i'd love doug free, just to steal him from dallas (not that he wouldn't help us out). D Joseph would be great too, but not likely. can't wait. hopefully we dont massively overpay the wrong guys again. (btw, most of the WRs are thrash character wise, which is sad. I still think edwards or plax (if he's ready to go) could help us the most, but i realize the off field red flags are, you know, huge). |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
OK, on my ProFootball Weekly app...
Baltimore has told a few top Vets their services won't be needed this year. RB Willis McGahee NT Kelly Gregg TE Todd Heap WR Derrick Mason I'd be interested in the NT and maybe the WR. |

I don't want anyone except for Gregg, he might fill in NT nicely for us. |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
Those Ravens moves look like cap cuts more than anything. I'd bet a few of those guys end up back with them at a lower price tag.
|
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
I agree unless they get a really good offer elsewhere.
|
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
let me get this started..not saying it will happen.. but the Redskins are going 2 check on Orton , 2 wee what it will take
Well, apparently the Skins are looking into Orton after all. :( A tweet from another insider on another forum this morning. |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
Dolphins rumored to be making a trade offer for Orton.

Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
Denver is looking to unload Orton quickly. Doesn't hurt to see what they would be willing to take.
|
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
Seahawks released OL Stacy Andrews.

Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
I'm not sure if this is real or BS because it seems like a lot of fans are just writing stuff.
Breaking News via HRNY4ZRNY twitter Edit: this was BS... sorry. Redskins trade McNabb and Haynesworth to the Bengals for Carson Palmer and Ochocinco |

Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
Another possible BS story is the Skins looking into Orton. Checking to see what it would take to get him.
|
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
I'd give a 3rd for Orton

Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
I'd love to get J.J or Cromartie
|
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
I disagree with the evaluation of Grossman than most of you. I don't care how many yards he threw or touchdowns he threw for in garbage time. At the end of the day he threw too many picks at clutch times. That still show the bad decision making he had as part of the Bears. NO Thanks
|

It's why we need Orton, smart and accurate QB.. Tall and has a good arm |

Definitely Cromartie. He and Hall = no where to throw, pick 6 threat on both sides! |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
latest is Orton to Dolphins
|

booooooo!!! |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
For the value, I would rather try to swing a trade for Matt Flynn, or bring in Leinart because he knows the system.
|
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
No to Leinart yes to Flynn
|
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
No to Leinart yes to Flynn
Why, we could put in hot tubs in the new party decks like some baseball parks have them. Leinart would obviously be the player representative in charge. Make runs out there during the game. That's what he's good at. |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
Jason Reid was on the junkies and he said that he's heard us linked to some big name players but no QBs. WRs and DLine is what he's heard us linked to.
|
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
Orton 41 Tds in the last 2 years
|

Good. So we can't trade "in theory" today with FAs? |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
We're in "serious discussions" (whatever that means) with Braylon Edwards
|
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
We've contact Braylon and Santonio according to redskins insider on twitter

Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
Redskins have reportedly told Moss he should test the market.
My guess is they'll use the market to determine what, if anything, to offer him. But bottom line is it doesn't seem keeping him is a priority |

Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
I wouldn't waste a 3rd round pick on Orton, when the Redskins will most likely be in the running for Luck or Barkley next year. If they go after Holmes, Edwards, etc. then there's no need to sign Moss.
|
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
how serious is serious with Edwards? And dang I'll miss Moss

Barkley maybe, but Luck, seriously? You really think we are in the running for the 1st overall pick? |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
Ill say this. I believe wwe will resign santana moss, and we will also sign sidney rice. Rice moss and aa. Just turned our wr situation from below average to above average. Now, get orton to sling them the ball, and a NT and Center. Maybe even Nnamdi. I still have my fingers crossed. Ive heard some rumors that Nnamdi is going to the 49ers tho.........Hope that doesnt happen.
