"George Allen never used to say 'the Dallas Cowboys', it was always 'the goddamned Dallas Cowboys.' It's the Cowboys' uniform. It strikes hate and loathing in my mind, almost in a Pavlovian sense."
-John Wilbur "...There's many a time when I close my eyes and I picture myself still putting on those pads at old RFK Stadium, and those stands are rocking up and down and 50 some thousand chanting, 'WE WANT DALLAS!'" -Russ Grimm, Aug 7, 2010, during his Hall of Fame acceptance speech in Canton, Ohio |
Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
So did anyone else see the segment on ESPN where Adam S left open the possibility that Romo, Bryant, and Austin won't be able to play on Monday Night? Don't know how I would feel about that. On one hand a win's a wins a win. However on the other hand I want to play the Cowboys at their best.
Anyway Romo said he expects to play, Bryant is questionable, and Austin is doubtful. |
Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
F 'em. A win is a win no matter who plays.

yes sir, yes sir, how many times have we played a much better Cowboy team with a long list of injured Skins?? |

With you Matty! NO EXCUSES !!! Their D is healthy let them try and stop our O. Not gonna happen! Redskins are gonna light it up Monday Night! HTTR! |
Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
Hugh Douglas just ranked the Skins 4th in the NFC on First Take. Then Skip Bayless walked over to the same table and put the Eagles and Cowboys at 3 taking the Skins out of the top 5 completely.
Bayless is such a tard. He's just another one of those mediot types that just spouts off with stupid crap in order to get a reaction out of people. |

Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
Well, last year Bayless picked the Redskins at 10-6 and I believe division winners. At the very least a playoff team...so he's not a blind "hatter"
but he is a clueless one :/ I really wouldn't trust his opinion on much. |

Skip is such a Dallas homer it's sick

True, the win takes priority above all, but at the same time a healthy Dallas team is an opportunity to gauge how far we've come. Of course Green Bay killed the injury excuse last year so I guess it's game on.
Garrett also said he's not sure about Newman either
Two words, Phillip Buchannon. Followed by one word, wash :D Man what the heck is with all these injuries? |

In fact history will probably repeat itself and either Ogletree or Holley will get their "glorious moment" against the Redskins just like that 1-15 team did or Danny ****ing White. Besides, they still have Witten to test our OLBs. |
Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
We keep focusing on Romo and seem to forget that Kitna played pretty well against us last year.

I'd almost rather face Romo. Kitna isn't going to make those boneheaded mistakes that Romo does. |

Hopefully we have really good LB and safety play.. hell, Los popped Witten good.. let one of our guys stick him a couple of times |

Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
Holy crap. Accuscore is crap.
If Tony Romo doesn't play Dallas's chances of winning drop to 55% If Grossman throws 0 int's Redskins have a 42% chance of winning If Grossman throws 0 int's and Hightower rushes for over 50 yards then the Redskins chances of winning increase to 55% That's your bulletin board material right there. |

I feel like the only time they ever get it right is when a team like the Patriots go up against one of the worst teams not in their division in the NFL. |

I was going to mention the same thing. We need to score a lot of points and let KerriRak take care of the rest. Kitna is no slouch. |

Stephen Bowen faces his old team and has his son come home from the hospital in the same week.

I was watching Inside the NFL and Collinsworth and Sapp both picked the Cowgirls over us. Phil Simms, he was the smart one on that pick.

Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
I listened to these guys for the first time, and they are idiots lol. I'll never listen to them again.
"Rex's TE's and WR's bailed him out many times last Sunday" What? I saw Moss fall down on one INT, and Armstrong tip the other one up in the air. I didn't see any SPECTACULAR catches that bailed out Rex on Sunday? He's really "hatting" on us lol. KO or Kerrakpo are both great choices imo. Both are easy to roll off the tongue. Short, sweet, and to the point. |

Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
Man I was looking at Dallas' Rushing stats, unbelievable, they are last in the league when it comes to yards per attempt, and their longest rush is 8 yds:
Team: Dallas Attempts: 48 Total: 109 YPA: 2.3 Longest: 8 TD: 1 Avg/Game 54.5 Fumbles: 2 Fum Lost: 0 We are tied for 15th on YPA Attempts: 61 Total: 246 YPA: 4.0 Longest: 22 TD: 1 Avg/Game 123.0 Fumbles: 0 Fum Lost: 0 I wonder with their passing attack so banged up how much they will change their style of play. (Now they did play SF who has an outstanding Rushing D, and the Jets, who are statistically about the same as us) Dallas' rushing D is #2 right behind SF so we may have a hard go getting the running game going. |
Re: We Want Dallas! 2011 Thread
Well both the 9ers and the Jets have struggled to run the ball in their first two games so who knows what any of it really means.

I agree and he'll be the starter to finish the year. Romo will be benched before the end of the year, if we don't put him in a full-body cast Monday night. This will be Tony's final season with Dallas. |
