That fade route needed to go to Hank, oh well, we're within 1 point.

Still can't score a TD.

Kyle's passing attack is great between the 20's, but totally sucks in the red zone.
by the way, kerrigan has a bigger impact on games than orakpo. he gets more pressure it seems and causes more turnovers. bottom line.
So we have two good OLBs, nothing wrong with that.

Our defense is playing great giving our offense a short field, but we stll cant get it done. We need the defense to get a TD.

i just dont think rak is as good as people make him out to be. hes a good player, but not elite like a lot of people seem to think. thats my opinion.

Kerrigan was a turnover-causing machine at Purdue as well. Rak would do well to watch some film on how Kerrigan attacks the ball when he's in position to make a sack.

What does Shanahan gain from rotating feature backs on a game by game basis?

Still wondering how you go from a guy, Helu, getting like 30 touches one game... then having him NO WHERE in the gameplan the next week...

GET HELU INVOLVED!!! I mean, do they not watch the same games as us??

I agree, but remember he's taking on the opposing team's best pass blocker on most plays... Kerrigan is not.

Kerrigan vs Columbo
Orakpo vs Jake Long

And that was the point with bringing in Kerrigan. If the blockers are occupied with Rak and Kerrigan is open, so be it.

Once again, I don't know why our fans hate the idea of having two good players in one position.

so does demarcus ware and he lives in opponents' backfields. if orakpo wants to be considered elite, he needs to do the same with regularity.

i dont think anyone "hates the idea". just an observation and an opinion that has been formulated over a long period of time. elite players beat the double team. again, demarcus ware.

But this isn't about Orakpo, is about the defense making plays period. If this happens every game, so be it. In the end Orakpo alone doesn't win games, teamwork does.

SmootSmack 11-13-2011 02:50 PM

I'd give very serious consideration to trading Rak this offseason. Well, to be clear, I'd test the market with him and see what he might bring back potentially

I don't think he is elite. My point with those making the Kerrigan > Orakpo argument is simply that if you swapped sides, you might see swapped results as well. That's all.

With the new CBA, it sure as hell wouldn't be a 1st rd pick.

AWFUL on 3rd downs today though... seriously... bad.

i dont have a problem with using 1st and 2nd round picks on guys who get at or protect the qb.

orakpo has rom to improve but hes got time too. hopefully when we are contending in 2-3 years he will be at his peak making plays.

Ruhskins 11-13-2011 02:52 PM

Once again, no pressure on a key 3rd down.

Include him in the package for Luck w/ 2 1st rounders.

And try to get what back? I don't think we could get much better at the OLB position.

Now we are blitz happy on defense getting toasted twice on 3rd down.

Before you b*tch about the defense, the offense has been giving two TOs that have resulted in FGs.

I don't really see how anyone could bitch about the defense. At least not this game. The offense has been falling short. We should be up 17-10 at least.
