Does it matter about NE?

Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
I have absolutely no clue why they stopped running the ball. Helu was averaging 6 yards a carry, then just freaking stopped.....Then they would try and run on 2nd down, lose yards then its 3rd long!! I just didn't get the playcalling from the middle of 2nd on. Its like we were playing catch up and we were winning or tied the majority of the game. Kyle today was an idoit. And what the hell was with the kick off to the 30?? I said to the guys in the room, Gano can't do two things in a row that are good. He'll probably shank it out of bounds, when in reality that would have been better than what he actually did.
I just dont get it in Washington. It is like every coach that comes here get a shot stupidness injected into them. ITs hard to understand how for years this team can continue to do stupid shit week in and week out... |
WTF has this to do with our sh*tty play calling, our d-line getting manhandled, and the two turnovers by the offense?
Sent from my Samsung Epic 4G.
This had to do with the pregame thread when someone talked about how Hall called out Sanchez. Everytime a team loudmouth calls someone out, we get torched. Last time it was Romo getting called out and he was called Superman for playing with a broken rib and punctured lung. Lavar had a knack for doing it then having to eat his words after the game. The players just need to play the game and keep it on the field. We made Sanchez look like an all pro today. Thanks MR. Hall. I hope you are on your ass after the season ends!!!!!! I am half joking about this, but damn, please let your play back up your words, and if it can't just STFU. |

Sent from my Samsung Epic 4G.
No, the scrubs weren't playing on either side of the ball. I was being facetious. I posted that post before I was done originally. They probably took the day off from their A game. |

RGIII Bowe Hankerson Moss Davis Cooley Helu That would be pretty good group of skilled position players.
Bowe would be the best fit I think. Vincent Jackson seems to be too high on himself. I wish Niles Paul could step it up and get a real shot. If Davis does indeed get suspended for the remainder of the season, maybe we will put in another WR on passing situations. |

if paul were any good, we would've seen it already. no one's in his way, if he can get time in THIS offense, he's probably not ready for prime time. |
Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
If the skins lose out, and go 4-12, do you think either Shanahan would be fired? I feel like Kyle is on the hot seat right now more so than his father. Or is there a chance Snyder turns into Snyder and implodes everything again?

Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
I don't think Shanahan's job is in jeopardy.

NOR should it be.......

I wouldn't fire Mike but if we have another 5 win season next year then yes i would

Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
Did it up big at the game yesterday. Took a bunch of pics. One time when I was high school I got field passes, but these were the best seats I've had to a Skins game in like 17 years. We had a great time. There was a ton of action in our endzone (including 3 Jets TDs. Boo.)

No one should be fired! It's 2 years into a rebuild. it should not even be discussed. I would not even consider firing him until after year four...since at that point he needs and extension to avoid lame duck status. If we continue to fire every coach not named Joe Gibbs after 1 or 2 years we will NEVER build a consistent winner. |

Probably the same hot mess it was in years 1 and 2. Some coaches don't deserve a 3rd year. |

He was definitely there as CBS devoted 15 minutes to obligatory Fireman Ed shots. Didn't see a single shot of Chief Zee... Irritating! |

I knew he was sick last year, but I thought I spotted him at the Bucs game this past preseason. I thought he had gotten over whatever was ailing him. |

Some coaches don't deserve a 3rd year.
Zorn will probably end up having a better record after 2 yrs then Shanahan.Im not saying Zorn was great or deserved a 3rd yr,what I am saying is Shanahan sucks and has shown me nothing positive either in his coaching, picking talent, time management, etc etc.Dont know why he gets a free pass.Zorn had to deal with Cerrato and Snyder meddling in everything,Shanahan doesnt have that excuse and Shanahan probably has more talent on the team then Zorn had to work with. |

Shanny has been extremely effective at picking up talent. It's just a matter of time before his youth develops properly and pays dividends. They blew up this team... It's pretty unrealistic to assume the rebuild would only take a year and change. Every Skins fan has been begging for a rebuild. Now that we are wrist deep, people start bitching. Give it time... By the end of five years, there is no doubt we'll be extremely competitive. |

Im currious to see how this rebuilding plan plays out, is either going to show signs of success or Shantinhishand will be out of a job by the end of next year. Next year will be huuuuuge! If 6-10 next and the lynch mob will be out in full force. |

I don't think that he does as there is much criticism of he....and his, that is currently being bandied about the WP. On the other hand most do not look for any possible reason to...attack him and his administration whether it is warranted or not...... |
If we continue to fire every coach not named Joe Gibbs after 1 or 2 years we will NEVER build a consistent winner.
Well, that's correct, but I would argue that the very first step to winning consistently is to win at some point. Longest winning streak with this coaching staff: two games.

I can see how that can be misconstrued{did I spell that right?]Im talking more about the defensive picks weve made.If Shanny had anything to do with those picks then props to him.The only off player hes drafted thats produced anything worth talking about is Helu, and it took him way too long to get him in the lineup.Maybe Im blinded by my disgust for him and the way hes handled the qb situation and its keeping me from seeing the good hes done,IDK.But like I said hes most likely going to end up with a worse record after 2 yrs then Zorn so I dont see why he gets a free pass, especially with his past bad descisions |

Contrary to his record, tell me where that talent is,is he bringing in talent or is Allen doing it?Every team in the NFL has talent ...it's the coachs job to get it to work together. |
Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
Is Jonathan Crompton good enough yet to be promoted to the active roster? I can't bare watching Rex Grossman playing QB for the Redskins a second longer and Beck is 0-7 as a starter and would be 0-8 if he started another game. I saw video clips of Crompton play in college and he looked good. At this point in the season with four games remaining, what bad would it be to see what Crompton can do in a regular season NFL game?

I agree, what a better time to see what ya got. |

Most NFL QB's looked good when they were in college. Not all Qb's that looked good in college look good in the NFL though.
Most NFL QB's looked good when they were in college. Not all Qb's that looked good in college look good in the NFL though.
That true. Just look at Tim Couch, Heath Shuler, and Ryan Leaf. Each of those QBs were a beast in college, but less than a mouse in the NFL. But would promoting Crompton to the active roster and giving him instant playing time be a bad move at this juncture? We saw Beck, who has absolutely nothing. We've seen Grossman, who turns the ball over like it's a disease. Now, I'd like to see Jonathan Crompton give it a go. What would it hurt? Mike Shanahan should place him on the active roster and let him get some experience. |
Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
What then are you telling your starters? "We have no hope for getting better this year so we are going to plug this unproven guy in to see what he's got." The coach knows what he has in Crompton he watches him practice on a daily basis. To turn over this offense to a rookie who has only been running the scout team ofense would be setting up the entire team for failure. Top it off with our starting left tackle being suspended and I assume that you wish watch the guy get killed.
While it is understandable that the season is at a loss in terms of playoff hopes there is still hope that those who aren't suspended get more time to gell together on both offense and defense. I am not opposed to giving some young guys a chance to shine and show what they can do on the field, but the football has to go through the QB on almost every offensive snap. You could jeapordize the growth of every other player on the field if that position isn't somewhat competent. Perhaps if Crompton were already running the offense with the 1's and 2's then I would probably say "give him a shot" however, giving a practice squad QB a baptism by fire is not exactly what I would consider a sound decision. While I do not like Grossman and I know that he isn't our future he is the best option that we have right now. I just hope that we see more of good Rex than bad Rex for the rest of the season. I am willing to speculate that even Bad Rex is better than any form of Crompton right now. |
