Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
Weird coincidences;
Weeden is 6ft-4in and wears the #3. Kinda obvious folks.... 6th pick of the draft in the 4th month, and.... #3? he'll be the 3rd QB taken. ;) |
Remember when we took Landry over Peterson in 2007 at pick 6 because we had Portis? Yes I'm putting them in the same class if Richardson is there at 6 and we can't trade down I take him. In this whole class the two best non-qbs when it's all said and done will be Trent Richardson and Morris Claiborne and I wouldn't cry uf we got either.
And the Vikings still blow. RB is the least impactful position there is. They were just as good with Toby what's his face in there. No way I take any RB at 6. They're always dinged up and have a very short shelf life. Young and cheap is the way to go with RBs. The ones we have are fine. |

You are probably right about staying at six or trading down, but Shanahan is hard to predict. Plus I keep seeing this story which I find puzzling. Not sure if it means we trade up to get RGIII, or that we are trading for a FA QB, or perhaps it means nothing at all (smoke screen). I hope the Landry haters don't see this! They will be using it as ammunition against poor Laron. In fact, I have already seen a post that suggests Redskins should draft the best safety we can find with our first pick. |
Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
Well, I will say this. If Weeden has a nice showing at the Senior bowl and a good combine, I don't see how he would drop to the 3rd round.

I would not be surprised if the Redskins draft Weeden, Shanahan likes him according to article on Redskins Insider.

Trying being the operative word. While I would love to have Griffin, a bidding war is the last thing the Redskins should be involved with in their quest to move up. Our roster is not yet sufficiently re-worked to the point where we can afford to part with a bunch of quality picks.:headbange |

Thats my point. I think if the Skins were not coaching the Senior Bowl then half of what everyone is talking about I could see happening. RGIII, Tannehill so one and so forth. Since the coaching staff is coaching and they have had interaction with the QB's and seem to have built a decent raport with Weeden then I could see them adjusting their plan and deciding to draft Weeden instead plus get to keep their draft picks. Which is why I think there might be either some rumors that won't be happening. |
I want to agree with you as I know that is Holmgren's inclination, but I just just can't help but feel like with all of these extra picks he has he won't go for the big fish this time. If you play the percentage game about us getting RG3 vs not, I can't help but feel we are on the bad side. There are so many situations working against us. If we just hadn't beat the Giants none of this would be an issue...
Or if we just hadn't won any games (sarcasm font needed here) |

If you get your qb though you can build around him. its hard to say for certain since the style of play has changed for all the NFL but it appears the giants have built there team around Eli and the passing after trading up for him. |

None of the quarterbacks really impressed me that much yesterday. Maybe Cousins, but neither Weeden nor Foles had me wanting the 'skins to trade down to get either one of those guys. I wished Tannehill had not been injured. |

No, it might've been a movie. I vaguely remember a redneck character who spouted off about not using the lord's name in vain and then later in the movie is heard saying,"christ on a cracker!!!" That's all I can remember though. |

What he is saying is true. When you already have Helu and Royster, and probably Hightower coming back, why would you want to use such a high pick on a 4th RB with starting potential? That is absolutly stupid.......Ya, maybe he becomes a fantasy stud, great!!!!! But RB is NOT, I repeat is NOT, an area of need for the Redskins. With the scheme we run, Shanahan can plug my frikkin grandma in there and get positive yards on most plays. We Need a QUARTERBACK!!!!!!! not another frikkin Running back, gimme a break man. Do whatever to get luck. If that is not an option, then sign Peyton frikkin Manning, BPA on OL or WR with our 6th pick, and get Nick Foles or Tannehill in the second, or try to move up into the late first and get them to sit for 3 years behind Peyton. |

I'm gonna toss a wild guess out here, but it might've been in MIB or Independence Day. I think it was a movie involving aliens.

Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
No matter who plays the most time at QB for the Redskins next season, I can see Jonathan Crompton getting a little playing time.

Jeez, after mentioning him several times I can't believe I left off Josh Johnson. Guess he's other.

I can't. He might not be on the roster at all this season depending on what we do. What I am looking forward to, no matter who we pick, will be seeing a different guy play quarterback for us this season. I want Luck, Bradford, or RG3, but I will take complete solace in knowing whomever it is back there, it won't be Grossman. A fresh start and a new day can do wonders for your hope. :) |

Rex Grossman. Certainly not who I want though. |
Re: Predict Who Will Be The Next Redskins QB (Not Necessarily the QB You Want)
I'm guessing Skins can't make a trade-up work and end up luring Flynn in here. I also think one of the 2nd level of QB's will be drafted like Foles or Tannehill but not in the 1st round.
