Yeah but basically it wasn't official what they had agreed to, and the Colts didn't want to risk losing Mathis because of technicalities and whatnot. It sounded like they did this as a precaution.

Fox is reporting Randy Moss has a workout scheduled with the Saints...good, that team could use some stability right about now

Re: Around the NFL: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades

Bad bad Levi Brown doesn't seem like a good fit.

Grade: 70 | Key

Comment: Brown is a massive lineman with long arms and heavy, powerful hands that can shock and stymie pass-rushers. He is a good knee bender who can keep his pad level down to leverage blocks and has adequate lateral quickness and range for the left tackle spot. He can struggle when out on an island against some of the league's more athletic pass-rushers but generally wins once he gets his hands on the opponent. He has become a pretty good competitor and will finish blocks off once he gets the advantage, but could still use a more aggressive temperament on a consistent basis. He is quick to recognize games up front in the form of stunts and twists and keeps his head on a swivel when free to help other linemen.

Since Dallas tagged Spencer they are out of the M. WIlliams race, I'd say teams such as N.E, NYJ and HOU are all possible landing spots for him.

If Randy Moss still has he's speed, he'll be dangerous with Brees throwing to him. And if he's stays true to his word of not minding an incentive-laden contract, I don't see the risk for the Saints.

It looks as though Pierre Garcon will hit the market along with Vincent Jackson. The Colts didn't have enough time to tag him.

I don't understand, how does a team not have enough time to tag a player? It isn't like the deadline snuck up on them.

I think he's a number 1 on some teams..

WSH
CLE
STL
MIN
DEN
SF
SEATTLE

So yes I think he's a go to guy

Re: Around the NFL: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades

I like Garcon and would be satisfied with him but he isn't VJax but him being younger is a reason I want him (same with Johnson before he re-signed) But whether we sign Garcon or VJax, I think we go WR in rd 2. Also I wouldn't consider Garcon a true #1 but a real good #2.

skinsfaninok 03-06-2012 11:26 PM

Re: Around the NFL: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades

vjax is a beast but he'd cost so much

EARTHQUAKE2689 03-06-2012 11:30 PM

Re: Around the NFL: 2012 Off-Season-Free Agency/Trades

Apparently 5 yrs between 45-60 million. What worries me is will he come here and suck? But if we sign VJax and get say Jurion Criner in round 2 our WRs look like:

Vincent Jackson
Leonard Hankerson
Santana Moss
Jabar Gaffney
Jurion Criner

Not to shabby, but like I said I'd be fine with Garcon and a 2nd round WR.

well he would suck if we don't get a damn QB.. I'm not down with Tannehill/Orton, I wan't RG3 or PM if not then its a loss IMO

Yeah, Brees would be in contention to break his own record if Moss sticks in NO. Sproles, Ingram, Thomas form a nice trio, and Brees makes use of his complimentary receivers very well already. :FIREdevil

That's crazy for a guy his age. I guess it shows nothing can stop you if you work hard and stay determined. Sounds like he really wants back in, and I think he'll definitely get his chance.

Very nice trio but I'm guessing they lose atleast a WR who is a FA to someone. There are a few teams that are interested in all the FA WR's to include the Skins. I'm not saying we would sign all I'm saying we are probably looking at all and have a pecking order of WR's we would like to get and if we don't we're on to the next available WR.

I don't think the Saints were to far off but losing GW means learning a new defense. Plus the Saints are not sitting far under the CAP.

Unless someone pisses in his cornflakes, at which point Moss will quit while still collecting a pay check.

this means nothing considering how he played with NE/Minnesota/Tennessee his last year in the league and declined big time. Don't get all caught up in the measurables; Can he still play is the question you should be asking, which the answer is no.

he's still one of the best ever, despite his issues, and he could definitely help us in the red zone with some size and hands. if its him at 2-3mill on a one year deal vs vjax at 10-12per... well, i'd take the chance on moss, and if he acts up, just cut him.
