Re: Fantasy Football 2012 Thread

My first round pick of Aaron Rodgers hasn't really panned out the way I had planned. But I suppose its still early. I've had really good luck with my WR's in the WP money league though.

Andre Johnson
Eric Decker
Reggie Wayne
Lance Moore

My brother has Aaron Rodgers, and he has been underwhelming for him this year. It's kinda killing his team because he depended on him for a bunch of points.

He HAS to pick Rodgers every year in rd. 1. No idea why...some things you just don't ask about, ya know?

I'm going through that also.

On that same team, I just traded my second QB Matt Schaub, Colston and Ben Tate for RGIII, A. Bradshaw and P. Hillis.

I'm kinda desperate for RBs on that team so trading Tate, who isn't being used heavily like last season for 2 more RBs helps. I have a ton of WRs so I can afford to lose Colston. No Saints WR is reliable anyway, Brees spreads the ball around to different receivers every week.

I started to second-guess it this morning because of Schaub's day yesterday but it already went through.

It's a keeper league and we start 2 QBs so I'll be starting Rodgers and Griffin weekly.

I have Percy Harvin and Calvin Johnson as my other WRs...but I'm extremely thin at RB since Fred Jackson and Jonathan Stewart have missed time.

*Griffin big fantasy upgrade over Schaub
*Colston swap for Bradshaw probably loses me a few points but helps my bad RB situation
*Hillis and Tate are both non-factors without Foster or Charles getting hurt, wash here.

Thoughts?

My old starters:

QB - Aaron Rodgers
QB - Matt Schaub
WR - Calvin Johnson
WR - Percy Harvin
WR - Marques Colston
RB - Alfred Morris
RB - Fred Jackson
TE - Vernon Davis
Flex - Jonathan Stewart

My new starters:

QB - Aaron Rodgers
QB - Robert Griffin III
WR - Calvin Johnson
WR - Percy Harvin
WR - Randall Cobb/Jerome Simpson/Brandon LaFell
RB - Alfred Morris
RB - Fred Jackson
TE - Vernon Davis
Flex - Ahmad Bradshaw/Jonathan Stewart

Any points I lose from Colston will be more than made up by Griffin and having a full roster of healthy, quality RBs, which I've had trouble fielding. RGIII has outscored Schaub 122.70 to 86.95 in this league this year. I'm not looking back. RGIII is mine for years now, keeper league! It's a 10-team keeper league with the same guys for almost a decade...very competitive league. I've been lucky with the keepers I've been able to snag. From last year, I kept Rodgers, Schaub, Calvin Johnson, Fred Jackson and Vernon Davis. I drafted Johnson and Davis as rookies and picked up Rodgers when he was injured and dropped one year before he blew up.

This team is wining this week to move to 2-2. Yep, that solid roster was below .500, like I said, competitive league! I started out 0-2. My RB production has been trash.

Week 5 starter questions.... Peyton Manning @ Patriots or Big Ben at home against the Eagles? Also need to fill one WR slot with either Brian Hartline @ Bengals, Garcon home against Falcons or Michael Crabtree @ Buffalo.

Peyton

Id probably give Garcon the slight edge over Hartline.

Agree w/ Garcon(and it's close). Dont agree with Peyton. Ben has been incredibly productive this year, and it will continue.

Hartline got a ton of targets last week which is why I put him in the list, but I guess I with you, if Garcon can get every snap, he can do more I think.

What do folks think of this trade:
Amendola, A. Gates for Gronkowski, Battle

Re: Fantasy Football 2012 Thread

Gronk and Battle will have higher combined numbers at the end of the year. Gates is worthless. Part of it depends on your depth at wide out. If you're really struggling to find quality starts, Amendola might be more important. 2 factors to consider. Gronk's numbers will be affected when Hernandez' returns, and Amendola's statistics step outside of the curve when he played us.

Amendola - 351yds/2td
Gates - 124yds/0td

Gronk - 260/3
Battle - 163/3

No brainer IMO, but fantasy teams dont operate in a vacuum.

have some questions in regards to available players. i just dropped rivers for dalton. here's how i'm sitting:

QB Andy Dalton, Cin*QB
RB LeSean McCoy, Phi*RB**P
RB Matt Forte, Chi*RB**P
WR Larry Fitzgerald, Ari*WR
WR Nate Washington, Ten*WR
TE Martellus Bennett, NYG*TE
FLEX Jamaal Charles, KC*RB
D/ST Seahawks D/ST*D/ST
K Matt Bryant, Atl*K

Bench Hakeem Nicks, NYG*WR**Q
Bench Tony Romo, Dal*QB
Bench Fred Davis, Wsh*TE
Bench Cedric Benson, GB*RB
Bench DeAngelo Williams, Car*RB
Bench C.J. Spiller, Buf*RB**P
Bench Lance Moore, NO*WR

the following guys are available right now, would you grab any of them? and if so, who would you drop?
qb - ryan fitzpatrick, carson palmer, kevin kolb
rb - jackie battle, brandon bolden, andre brown
wr - brian hartline, andre roberts, mike williams, brandon lafell
te - scott chandler, heath miller, greg olsen

Jamaal Charles (#2 fantasy RB) has been my only reliable RB (and thats just for the past two weeks). I just traded him for Alfred Morris (#5) and McGahee (#10).

How'd I do?

So I jumped on the Hartline bandwagon. I hope it doesn't breakdown next Sunday.

MonkFan4Life 10-03-2012 09:55 PM

In my main league, the one where I'm Commissioner and the one that is for the most money I came up big time IMO.

The week Ahmad Bradshaw got hurt I made two trades.

Julio Jones for Alfred Morris and Demeco Ryans

Then the next day I sent Navarro Bowman away for Chris Johnson. So now forgetting bye weeks my starting roster is prett much

QB-Drew Brees
RB-Marshawn Lynch, Chris Johnson, Alfred Morris,
WR-Dez Bryant, Vincent Jackson
TE-Jacob Tamme
DL-Charles Johnson, Jason Babin
LB-John Laurenitis, Paul Poslunzky
DB-Charles Tillman, Malcolm Jenkins
K-Adam Vinatieri

I'm currently 4-0 but I'm worried because my bench is straight garbage truck juice.

Should I start Boldin over Bryant?

If I were you, I would have dropped Romo instead of Rivers. As for rest of players, I would stand pat for now. However Hartline would be good choice over Lance Moore (the move I just made myself earlier today) given the fact that Hartline is #1 receiver and Moore is #3

I'm still worried about Garcon's foot hampering him. Steven Ridley would be a no brainer but that other rookie Bolden actually got more yards than Ridley and 16 carries.
