Great game yesterday after a shaky start. I'll have to say after the first 4 (I think it was 4) 3 and outs I was starting to think get Grossman need to go in. Then evrything just turned around and the Team played a great game.

"Fight your guts out" was Gibbs. We need a Shanahan quote! I liked the breakdown of the payoff scenario here...

Let's face it KS has been a rising star in the league for a while now and he is likely going to get a shot at bigger things sooner than later. He can get "promoted" here to Assistant HC or something like that and get thrown more money but eventually he's going to get a shot at HC and that will probably be before MS retires. Shanny has 2 years left and there is probably an extension in the works. So we're most likely looking at 4 more years of him at least KS won't spend 4 years waiting because the rest of the league wont either. And there's no guarantee that when Shanny retires that Danny and BA would hire KS to be HC. |

I doubt highly that money will matter either way. You're right that he DS won't let him leave over it but I don't think that KS would ever do so anyways. He'd leave over opportunity. |
Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread
He left Houston to work with his dad, I could see him doing it for 7 more years and then taking over assuming all goes well
|
Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread
Man, the Redskins are baking right now! We are red hot on total fire! Don't wake me because I'm dreaming!!! With 2 more games to go in this marathon of a NFL season, the Redskins would be a 4th seed if the season ended now! We should be proud of these players!

No way he walks away from Griff n Cousins. No way he walks away from Snyders checkbook. No way he walks away from familiarity and "his" offense. In about two years things are only going to get brighter with our number one picks coming back, also the cap penalty will be more than over. If opportunity is what KS is searching for he need look no further than rite in front of him |

There's one other place that would offer what Kyle ultimately wants...coincidentally that HC job and this one (for now) will become available at the same time |

What does Kyle want? Total control? |
Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread
^^ Gotta be Denver. Hometown, etc. but, if they keep winning, gotta imagine Fox's contract is extended. Even if he isn't, wonder how Denver fan base would feel about Kyle coming in.
The only places I see Kyle going over Washington seem pretty set, but, of course, this is the NFL and all that can change quickly. |

Im trying to think of another team that has seemingly as brite of future ahead of them. Young QB and a hc ready to step down within 2-4 years? Or a team that has those things and is underperforming? Cincy and Indy fit the bill but they are certainly not underperforming. Eagles with Foles - ehhh. Norv is gone in SD but that would mean next year? Who is the other team you are referring to? Edit: add Chicago and Detroit to the list. |

Its just a given that teams will want him as with any other hot young coordinator. He doesnt have to say it. |

Your response has nothing to do with the question I asked firstdown. |
Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread
Well, I am sure there is interest. He is incredibly brilliant. His schemes always work and we would be 14-0 except for the limitations coming from the QB position.
If his last name weren't Shanahan, would be seen as the creative, unique offensive genius that he is. |
Your response has nothing to do with the question I asked firstdown.
You asked "when did kyle say this". In response to a quote saying not sure why he would want to leave? Edit : first down did not say kyle said he was leaving. He said he is not sure why so many of us think he would. |

Crazy talk. If he gets offered a HC job he takes it. There are only 32 of them in the world. You don't turn it down unless you just don't want to be a HC. |

Really so if he got offered a job with say the Jaguars you think he would walk away from a vote of confidence by the FO that he would have our job in say three years. I know i wouldnt. Only fools rush in. According to SS there are teams that have interest now but KS isnt necessarily interested. |

I asked that in response to "Not sure why people think Kyle is going anywhere he is staying here to take over when his dad retires" All my previous posts in this thread make it clear I know Kyle will be wanted. Only a complete idiot would doubt that. I was asking when Kyle said he would stay here until his dad retires to take over as head coach. His contract does not last thru 2015 and its only been fan speculation that hell stay here. I highly doubt Kyle will stay here that long. |

First round picks, cap space anda core group of good young players including QB. Kyle is very young, so he will have to decide if he wants to start over somewhere with less to offer or step into a golden position. And its not as if he will be looked at as a front runner because everyone will realize he helped turn this franchise around. He will be the riteful heir to the throne. |

Martz mentioned Bradshaw a few times, basically comparing Cousins' slow start to how Bradshaw would often start off games slow then suddenly heat up. |

I actually thought Martz was half decent...I'd take any day over stupid Billick. At least Martz had some insight and not just BS platitudes like many of these guys.

Eh. I thought Martz really struggled to get his thoughts out. He's new to this though so I'll cut him some slack. But he said "I couldn't really see what happened" a lot. C'mon man! Make it up!!! Keep the flow going I know someone who can teach him about how to pretend like you saw something |

I know someone who can teach him about how to pretend like you saw something
Yeah he wasn't great but he did have some insight that was better than the normal crap we get from most of them. He definitely needed to work of conveying it but his thoughts on QBing weren't out of a box from QBs 'R Us. |
Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread
i was talking mainly about his tone/volume of voice. it seemed to never change, zzzzzzzzz
i'll have to watch it again, but i thought cousins' pick was cousins' fault. martz was defending his honor, saying it was the receiver's fault. |
Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread
Fantastic win.
Giving my game ball to Cousins. Hung tough after a weak start. Our backup QB was much better than their starter. Special mention to #50. That pick changed the whole game and might have been the biggest play all year. Never thought I'd say this but Rob Jackson is turning into a real LB. |
Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread
jackson made a great play, his return was impressive too, getting both hands on the ball when he got near traffic.

How about after year 5 Mike becomes FT GM and hands the reigns to Kyle.
