Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
I really hope they find a way to get Moss back. Seemed like he really found a role in the slot.

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
Skins have a press conference scheduled for 4:30 today.

I hope Smoot is paying you well. :laughing- Just teasin ya.. Funny that LL says they'll probably announce cuts after the press conference. Why even hold a PC if you don't want to answer questions. HTTR24-7.com @HTTR24_7 Shanahan and Allen with a free agency presser at 430. Cuts will probably be anounced 10 minutes after the presser is over to avoid questions |
Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
I think that's more obvious than anything.

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
Rich Campbell @Rich_Campbell
Redskins have tendered RFA NT Chris Baker a right of first refusal qualifying offer worth $1.32M for 2013, source confirms. |
Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
Rich Campbell @Rich_Campbell
Also, Redskins have decided not to tender RFA WR/RS Brandon Banks. Banks will be a free agent and is not expected to return, source confirms |

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
We are around 24 hours til free agency. Yes I effing know we havent made cuts or announced restructures. Eff it, it will happen.
Tell me who is gonna be the new Redskins dominating on the field next year. I think the CB Toler will be in burgundy and gold. |

I'd be fine with a combo of Cox and Delmas. Don't know why we would sign Spurlock though. |
Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
Delmas has yet to have a complete season.
Also the Lion fan jabber is that his oppurtunities have come because their defensive line created them for him. He may be an upgrade for us but I wouldnt get to geeked about it. |

To respond to 2 comments at once; Delmas is very injury prone. I love the way Delmas plays when healthy, point is his is often injured. We already have one often injured safety in Brandon Meriweather, we don't need another. Cox is pretty much the CB version of Delmas. Spurlock is a name linked to us, probably because he's a returner, we're letting go of banks, Spurlock played for the florida tuskers with Haslett, and was in Tampa when Bruce was there. |

Great story but not sure if a team will pick him up just as a return man. |

Cox would be a 35 mil. contract if he could stay healthy. |

Whenever you have to say "when healthy" on a player; avoid him

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
HE'S GONE!!!!! Finally!!!!
DHall has been released per Mike Jones |
Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
Rich_Campbell: Saves Redskins $8M in 2013 cap space. Least surprising name of the day. RT @MikeJonesWaPo: Redskins have released DeAngelo Hall, source says
Really don't understand why fans get so crazy over Lorenzo. I like the guy a lot, he's a good dude, but at the end of the day he's really just a glorified special teams player. He's never really stood out at any of the other positions he's played at.
Good to have for a multipurpose player in case of injury and we need someone to step in that moment, but the thought that he could go somewhere and be this starting LB or anything else is absurd.
Great locker room/character guy. He brings intangibles every team wants/should want IMO. |

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
Louis Delmas would play strong safety?
I think we should add a free safety at a low price. Corey Lynch anybody? |

I agree. I know I'm in the minority on this but for the overall money picture I'd cut Fletcher and re-sign Alexander to a multi year deal. Alexander is a 'glue' guy that good teams keep around. Love Fletcher, but 38, he's got one year left, last year he had a great 2nd half but the first half he looked old, slow, missed tackles and got destroyed by TE. If we didn't have the cap issue, I'd be 100% on bringing him back. But since we do, I'd rather see us go with Robinson/Riley at ILB with LoAx and another mid level backup. No need to part with quality depth/ST ace long term vs. a farewell tour for Fletch. |
Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
Not surprised about Hall. Was never a big fan but he did play pretty well down the stretch last season.
|
Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
I hope we re-sign Hall. It's not very often a guy says he wants to stay on with his team and openly says he'll take a pay cut to do so. Hall is a baller and the more I reflect on the season I like his fiesty ways. Our defense can be flat, lackluster in long stretches outside of London's tremendous effort/focus and Hall's edge.

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
Imagine this 4:30 presser with MS and BA together:
At 4pm, Mr Mara and Mr Goodell, along with the other owners in the NFL, were served with an injunction on all actions related to the blatant extortionary tactics, and we intend to disregard the 18M salary cap penalty. If any FA acquisition that we try to make is denied on grounds of the salary cap penalty, we will immediately file the appropriate legal briefs regarding unfair constraint of trade acts. Thank you and have a good day. ok, I probably got all the legal terms wrong, and it probably won't go down like that, but I would just like to hear the words "Mr Mara was served", If that's bad, then sue me :cheeky-sm |
Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
Per JasonLaCanfora: In addition to releasing CB DeAngelo Hall, as expected, Skins also highly likely to release Santana Moss and Adam Carriker. Need cap space

But don't discount the scheme adjustment we saw in the 2nd half of the season that kept Fletch in position and maximized his skill-set. The word was Haslett gave Fletch a bigger role in scheming. Fletch had the foot/angle surgically fixed and he's gearing up for one last hurrah. He's the QB of the defense and arguably more important to the defenses success than any player or coach. We'd be ****ing insane to let him walk away (sorry for the f bomb but it's deserved here imo). Give us one more year to (hopefully) groom a guy or bring in a great FA. But like matty said, looks like London will be back and for a reasonable sum. Bottom line: those dollars literally couldn't be used better on another player in 2013. |

Gdamnit I hate to see Moss go. Lame.
Maybe we'll re-sign to a more cap-friendly deal. He deserves that opportunity. |
Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
Its not about Hall personally, its about not overpaying, and creating bad contracts.

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013
Thanks for the years of service Moss and D Hall...both were favorites of mine at one point in time. Its time to move on.
