You have to love about Robert....from day 1 he has been the leader and nobody that I have heard has said....anything different. He has that rare combination of Fearless mentality, talent and desire that makes the people around him better and..."believe". This is what the Skins of the last 20 odd years have lacked (well....that and a few dozen other things). These guys.....BELIEVE they can win regardless what the time clock says.
The Skins of old thought the same thing and they did ok with it.....we'll see

There may be a lot of time between now and then, but there are a few teams right now that I consider contenders for the Super Bowl. And as of now we are one of them. We all know that a lot of things need to fall in place for any SB team by the time the playoffs roll around, but I still believe we have a chance.

Not an Oak type chance but a ATL or SEA type chance to get to the game. We could be great.

Eh...like I said, if RG3 and all the other key players are healthy, and we have a bit of luck, I'm not going to argue that we have as good a chance as Seattle. But we're just not quite to the level of Atlanta, San Francisco, New England, or Denver yet. Next year, I like our chances a lot better: we'll have signed some good FAs, RG3 and Morris will be improved, Phillip Thomas and Richard Crawford will be healthy, and we'll have another draft to add talent.

Once you get into the playoffs, though, anything can happen. If it were a 7 game series like the NBA, we wouldn't have a chance this year. But NFL playoffs are all about momentum and who-wants-it-the-most. So I'm definitely not counting us out.

Well all of those teams need the same thing we do to make it that far... Health. SEA, SF, ATL, and GB aren't going if any of their QBs are hurt. And I am not as sold on SEA as everyone in the media seems to be. What's happens if Wilson has a down year or Lynch gets hurt. Who are they throwing the ball too out there? They have a defense but it isn't impenetrable.

This is why I don't think Seattle is going to the super bowl (or playoffs this year) is because Wilson, as good of a QB he is, has no WRs to throw to. Its him and Marshawn, but like you said, one of those guys gets hurt (and I have a feeling one of them will this year) that team becomes one dimensional. And as you've said, that defense is good but is very beatable. I would just run the ball on them on first and second down to wear them out, then mix it up with play action to start annoying and confusing the defense. As great as that secondary is, Browner is just big and can be beaten (and badly at times) by quicker WR's, Chancellor is huge as well and great in run support but is sketchy in coverage (both our TD's were scored on him in last years play off game). And I don't know if people saw, but Sherman didn't look that great this past preseason when I saw him play. He was getting man handled by Demarius Thomas when they played the broncos. He was also getting picked on by Ryan and Roddy White in last years playoff game.

Your point on health is a good one. But our QB is more likely to get injured.

And I'm not sold on Seattle, either. Plain and simple, Russell Wilson is overrated. He's good, but he is nowhere near as talented athletically as our own QB. And with Harvin injured, they have no go-to WRs. Marshawn Lynch is pretty good, but one offensive weapon isn't going to get you very far. Their defense is really good, but RG3 showed that we could beat it last year. And we [I]did[/I] almost beat Atlanta in the regular season. If we get in the playoffs, anything could happen, I suppose. I wouldn't say he's overrated. I'd just say he isn't a better football player as Robert. The only thing he's better at, so far, is health. Everything else, Robert is better at and has a much higher ceiling than Russell does.

Couple of things:
A poster on cowboyszone (where I saw this article) summed it up well: what is there to respect about Vick?

Also I hope our team keeps a level head because that team is like the rams last year undisciplined and looking for fights. Let them get the penalties.

That said I wouldn't be upset if some of our receivers verbally pushed Williams buttons. Sounds like he is a good for one or two 15 yarders if egged on properly.

Mixed feelings on this one. Given RG3s knee and the movie this came from. But with 2 days left I get the tie in

I'm so nervous about tomorrow. Of course there is Roberts knee, but I'm much less concerned about that having seen the progress he has made and how good he is looking. What has me nervous is that I have never had higher expectations for this team.

I came of age in the Norv Turner era, and that 99 team was the first time I really followed every little thing about the Redskins, and since then I have seen nothing but one disappointment after another. Oh, and then THE legendary coach comes out of "retirement" to save our sorry franchise, and though there were good moments, the way Gibbs 2.0 fizzled out at the end has left such a bitter taste. I liked bringing Shanahan in from day one, but over the years my optimism for the skins had died. RG3, well I have never been more impressed with a young QB's talent, character, and/or personality, but going into last season my expectations were reserved (THEN I SAW WHAT HE COULD DO), and I was pleasantly surprised by a division championship.

Now, to me, I believe this is the best Redskins team I have seen, but have been burnt so many times that I am waiting for the other foot to drop. Anyone else feel this way? Or can someone with more years of Redskins fandome please tell me its ok to believe in them this time, because they really ARE a talented, young, deep team that is just starting to reach maturity. I know the rug can be pulled out from under us (Miss you 21), but I just need to hear that this is what a rising star looks like.

Don't forget guys, this is an earlier game tonight than usual! I don't get home until 6pm, so I'll probably have to set the DVR to record it so that I can get my workout in before watching the game.

I really feel that, right out of the gate, this is a must win game. It's an NFC East game for one thing, but having to play Green Bay next week is going to be pretty tough. It's hard to imagine the Packers starting off 0-2 (although I do hope that happens!) It's equally tough to imagine the 'skins stumbling out of the gate at 0-2. And I must say, if the 'skins are able to start off 2-0 against a division rival and a playoff regular team, then my expectations are going to sky rocket!
