Barring further injury, when he can take the knee brace off, yes IMO.
That might be the reason he can't turn it on. Being careful doesn't make you less effective. He got all the yards he could get. It's not like he said I can get more yards if I run head on to these tacklers. He got all he could get. Last year there was more running room and he took it. The times he tried to get more yards that were not there was when he got his block nearly knocked off. The open field isn't there like it was last year. Even Morris didn't do as well .RG3s speed is what is in question and that brace can't help that.

I can't get over how bad the Skins played in this game. The Giants are a terrible team, and we were at home, should've been rebounding from national embarassment. Nope.

I wonder if we didn't have that cap penalty and were able to get some of the FA's we were interested in but couldn't afford, how much better we'd be. Aqib Talib, VJax, Toler, I'm forgetting others, but we'd be a different team w/ those three alone. Could you imagine VJax deep, Garçon underneath? Man, defenses would've been spread out. Oh, what could've been. Thanks, John Mara.

He basically heads toward the sideline when he runs now. He doesn't have the same reckless abandon and that's a good thing, and teams this year are more than willing to let him take the 8-10 yard runs vs the big ones he would rip off last year.

I think some people may be under the impression that RG3 is normally just fast enough to outrun pursuit by defensive linemen, but I think guys like Justin Tuck are always going to be able to track down even the fastest quarterbacks when they are looking downfield. That's not a knee or leg issue, just try running as fast as you can someday while looking in a completely different direction than you are running. It will slow you down considerably.
It's pretty clear now that RG3 and the read option covered up a lot of our issues last year. When your QB only throws 5 picks vs accounting for 27 TDs, that will cover up a lot of holes on any team.
Exactly. Last year he covered up all the problems and now this year he is not covering up all the problems and he is being blamed as if he is the problem. Griffins play is like maybe #10 on the list of problems with this team.

The big ones he ripped off last year aren't there to be ripped off this year. He always ran towards the sideline even when he was running last year. The big gains aren't there because there is no room to make them not because he decides to run out of bounds. Proof is when he dove for the 1st down a few games ago and nearly turned a flip in the air to get it. Everyone remembers that play. If he was going to run out of bounds to be safe like you say that was the play he would have done it. But that isn't what happened. If he thinks there is a chance to take it to the house I think he would take it to the house. He is just being smart and getting out of bounds because there is nothing else to get. RG3 would tell you the same thing.

I would argue the big opportunities aren't there mostly because he isn't looking for them. He's content with the 8-10 yd runs and the D will give that to him all day.

Those same people don't understand things like pursuit angles, lateral speed, acceleration, etc. From an even start at a dead sprint, I doubt there is anyone who catches RG3 from behind, but factoring all those other things into play, it's not surprising. What is surprising (although I think many times it's just analyst speak) is how often color commentators don't recognize this and simply chalk it up lazily to 'he's not as fast/explosive'. While that may be a factor, let's not act like he never got caught in '12 either.

Why dive and fly thru the air if you're not looking to make big plays. That is the proof that he is not looking to just get of of bounds. If he was looking to not get extra yards then he would have also got of bounds before making that first down play while flipping like Olga Korbut. I believe what I see before what I hear. What you believe and I believe is what it is but when I see plays like that first down play which is not a run out of bounds play that is proof.

Is he more careful this year and get of bounds when nothing else is there? Yes. Is the brace slowing him down. Yes. Is he getting of bounds and leaving big plays that he could run and and make. No. If you see a play where he could have run for a touchdown or 50 yards and he didn't post it so we can all see. I'll admit I'm wrong if you can. There is a new thread about who the head coach should be which was a thread The Goat already brought up. Any personal reason you would shut down a thread of someone who brings up a thread supposedly already discussed but leave another thread up that was already "discussed" Not that I don't mind talking about any subject mind you more than once but I see now why my thread was closed at least.

Yea after 50 some pages. Clearly not enough discussion there. Not that I care about repeat subjects. Forget it I know what the deal is. I was just thinking out loud that confirmed something i already knew and should have kept to myself. Any coach would be better on a side note. Because the Redskins are playing not so good. When the brace comes off his knee is when we can see if he can get it done.

Just from my own observance and following some folks on Twitter that break down plays it's pretty clear that RG is not nearly as aggressive when running this year. On occasion yes he has fought for yards when he needs to, but overall he's just not attacking defenses with his legs like he did last year. He heads straight to the sideline most of the time, he's not looking to cut back for more, and he doesn't push the issue on the option play, i.e. he doesn't sell it like he did last year.

No personal reasons as to why your thread was closed, as I pointed out there was already a couple of active threads discussing RG, no need for another one was all. Just trying to keep the board clean.

Can't argue with what you believe to be true. Surely your opinion is based on what you believe. I do believe there is another repeat thread about head coaches. Not that there is anything wrong with that on my end.

Yes, we frequently shut down threads when they've gone on too long or have gotten off track and start up fresh ones on the same topic. And sometimes there are multiple threads that overlap on the same stuff. But believe me it's nothing personal. I don't have the time nor do I care to be that petty.

I'm sure RG3 is not looking for big plays. That makes sense. He sees that he can make a big play but decides not to do it. Both my points have been made.

So my thread overlapped and 50 pages of the Goats topic seems to go on a good way. What is the new fresh part you speak of on head coaches? So I don't follow a word you just said. But that's because that isn't the reason. Just be honest.

Just was curious as to why and you answered and I know we know and we'll move on now that RG3 has stepped out of bounds that everyone else can see he could have got 20 more yards on.
