I know this could be song lyrics but...
Early christmas present for the assumption room. Lets place that one under the tree next to Cooke relationship with his players, teamates' opinion of RG3, and the next Skins head coach. Its the season of giving folks, thanks Garcon |
Well if PG really doesn't like RG then he's out the door soon

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
I highly doubt that tweet has anything to do with RG3 lol
Why do you think that?
What Garcon say a few weeks ago?? "our passing game sucks!" ..who do you think he was talking about? That's pretty much a shot at your QB. |

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
RGIII allowed himself to become a media whore and I said back then it was not good. When you have guys busting there ass making plays and all the attention goes to one person then you will have issues. You then tack on that maybe Snyder gave him a little more attention and things go south even faster.

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
Kind of shocked in a way that the perception of RG3 has changed so much.
I was neutral on the fact for a while but over the last couple of days as more and more news comes out, and players talk, etc, it seems RG3 could be a cancer to this team sort of like Clinton Portis, Jeff George, etc... I myself am kind of blown away but it is becoming apparent that we have some trouble evaluating people's character as a team.... |

CP fed on drama, he loved the attention. He also got incredibly f'ing lazy towards the end of his career. If anything RG3 is trying to deflect attention away from himself. I think he DID command a ton of attention; "All in for Day one" and Subway commercials and a whole bunch of bologna. But I can't believe people are trying to assassinate the kid's character. I think at the worst, he's a good kid who's young, who came into a ton of money and fame and glitz and maybe got a little caught up. But I find it hard to believe he's not out there busting his hump or possibly has some lasting character issue. |

I am pretty sure Garçon wanted to come here knowing we were going to draft the kid. He had said he will be better than PM, and believes he is incredible. Last year when Robert was saving the season and energizing the town/team every body loved him. Now one year later people want him run out of town, he's not a leader and now someone days he is a cancer... Wow back up people. This kid have us a hell of a ride last year. He will do it a lot more after we get through this season... #HttR |

The only cancer is the guy standing at the podium today.

But the "24 sacks in 5 games, with a team with 2 sacks in the last 5 games getting 6" line holds no weight? We're in a different situation now that the season's lost, I'd like to shut down vets playing with serious injuries. I'd play him, but wouldn't hesitate to take him out if we couldn't protect him. RG3's still not fully recovered, he's still got the knee brace on, right?

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
I guess you can tell a lot about someone when things aren't going well. He pooped the bed in Oakland and got fired after arguing with the owner. Went to a stacked Denver team and won with a HOF Qb. Then came here, was given everything, not meddled with, crapped it all up, and now is going to get s-canned after going napalm. The two places he sucked at turned ugly fast.

Concern about him getting hurt might have carried some weight if he sat him down prior to playing on a sloppy/snowy field yesterday. It's a power play. A dumb game of tug of war and RG is stuck in the middle. Just embarrassing. |

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
I think he just wants to play Cousins to ruin his trade value and get one last stab in there before he leaves. I almost guarantee on Wednesday he says RG3 is the starter.

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
i think benching rg3 the rest of the season wouldnt be a bad thing and im not buying into the notion that he is doing it to stick it anybody.

Just embarrassing.
I guess this is going over my head, why is the option of shutting RG3 down this season a power play between Shanny and Snyder? I can see where Snyder want the franchise QB to play. And if you say so, the season being over doesn't mean RG3 can't still get some much needed reps in. It just doesn't seem to me like playing or sitting RG3 does much for Shanny's image either way, unless he starts calling RG3's number on 12 fullback dives in a row (or a dozen seven-step-drops in a row with our OL) What obvious things am I missing here? |

I highly doubt he's sitting him down cause he doesn't like him. I think it's a combination of things....like his below average play for most of the season. I do believe Mike wants him healthy going into the off season, and he wants to see Cousins. If he is going to sit RG3 then he needs to sit a few more guys as well. |

To think that there's not something else at play here, I guess you're assuming Shanahan is genuine when he says he has the team or Griffin's best interests in mind. Given the recent "leaked" stories from a guy clearly in CYA mode, personally I don't trust a single word he says anymore. |

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
i get the impression that shanny would like to be relieved of his duties but i also feel like he wants to leave it as best he can for the next guy.
the article saying he was prepared to leave before the seattle game but then when rg3 went down (which was a huge blow to the franchise) he didnt want to leave the skins in that condition kinda hits home ... i kinda get that. in his presser he didnt deny he wanted to leave before the game but did deny that he didnt clean out his office. putting rg3 on ice for 3 weeks to guarantee he doesnt get injured and will be 100% healthy and ready for a full offseason with the next coach seems like the best way to pass the baton. i think i would do that as well in his position. he also said he will talk with snyder (and i sure allen) about it. So if rg3 does sit, it will be a group decision for the best interest of the team and next HC. just doing it to stick it to dan seems too childish and petty. i dont think he is that kind of guy. now i do believe he would leak this story bc he was worried he might get canned before the season ended and want to jump the shark and get ahead of bad PR .. which is not cool but at least i can see some logic and motive in that vs just wanting to sit the rg3 to piss people off. he wants to hand this thing off as well as he can imo. |

But OK you got better info/experience/overall judgement than me, so if Shanny is just trying to pump up his own image with these leaks and decisions, I'm sad to hear it. |
Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
Actually Shanahan is doing RGIII a favor. Pretty much everyone here has been complaining about all the hits RGIII has taken due to our shitty OL. Save him and left him recover for next year, they're going nowhere this year. Cousins might surprise.
|
If they all agree about sitting him then that's fine , I don't mind it if they really want to protect him and get him healthy, I also think he needs the reps though
