Talked to Ron Saul today, sit's with RG3's family a lot during the games. He told me a few guys that were a lot higher on the charts than others. Also spoke about how the RG3 dad drama was a bunch of crock shit, and RG3 having input on the coach search was shit. RG3's relationship with the coach will be important and any coach coming in will have to understand he's the franchise QB going forward for now, but in now way did RG3 have any say or ridiculous relationship with Snyder.

Russ Grimm might be moving up my charts to be honest.
If it was a bunch of crock, why is some players dad knowing who our candidates are and how there ranked on the chart? RGIII's dad shouldn't be knowing shit about what this team wants beyond anything told to Robert. Robert shouldn't be knowing shit. Sounds like a lot of the drama is true if what you/he said is true.

Re: Who Do You Want to Be The Head Coach?
He also told me that Russ Grimm was suppose to have the Pittsburgh job but they installed the Rooney rule and shortly after hired Tomlin.

Smoot, I'm not sure how accurate it is but he lives in my town and eats at my restaurant all the time so I'm just sharing what I hear at a level that wont get him in trouble or something. I'm no insider lol.
That is the rumor... Welcome to the Team Russ Grimm.

Sorry NC_Skins, I guess the way I wrote that it could be misleading. He didn't get any information about the next coach from RG3's parents. Ron Saul was speaking on his knowledge about the search only, not what RG3's parents say about it.

I was saying he sat next to RG3's parents so he realized all the blown out drama that was going on, and what his parents would say about it.

It could be accurate or not. I'm just saying what he said.

When the guy who took the pictures emails mine. I'll post pics of me with the Super Bowl ring on. Haha. Was pretty cool.

Exactly. Also, a friend of the griffin family saying the drama was a crock? Why anyone would beleive that us beyond me. This just confirmed for me that te organization isn't being run the right way. Hopefully our next coach can put robert and his dad in their place.

Clearly RG2 and RG3 are running this organization. They need to be chiggity-checked before they wreck themselves.

Just my opinion. But i watched some of his games the last few years and some of his practice videos. Didn't care for the way he interacted with players or his sideline sunshine patriot demeanor. Blew multiple 20+ pt leads. Jmho im sure he wouldn't like me either.

If getting your knee turned into spaghetti and then being benched at the end of the season isn't humbling then I don't know what is. Give the guy a chance to swing the bat more than once before you send him back to the dugout.

Well it looks like the Redskins are now free to interview Jay Gruden if they are interested. Both him and Mike Zimmer.

Re: Who Do You Want to Be The Head Coach?

The development of RG3 should be the top priority.....the offense ran in Seattle with Bevell is similar to what the Redskins ran previously.....I don't think our focus should be a defensive guy.....Bevell would hire the right defensive coordinator if he doesn't retain Haslett.....

Getting to the playoffs is booty if you can't deliver. The Bengals are still mediocre.

Dalton is the problem. He's just good enough to get you there, but can't take you over the top.

So the war for postseason media circus begins..

Regarding Jay Gruden as a possible candidate -> he's free now that Cincinnati lost. Admittedly I don't know much about him, except Jon's made his last name a well known commidity. During his years as assistant coach in Tampa, he was arrested for drunk driving in Florida... Seems like much of his experience has been in Arena Football, except the past few years in Cincinnati, and a few years as asst coach w his brother. Is he qualified enough & do we want any more of a media circus with him?

MTK 01-05-2014 04:48 PM

Re: Who Do You Want to Be The Head Coach?

I think Jay has the personality to be a good HC. Norv was just a dud and not a leader.

Re: Who Do You Want to Be The Head Coach?

Well this week will tell us who they are leaning towards. I'm sure they will interview Gruden, Whisenhut, Zimmer and maybe Jackson. But if the Chris Russell rumors are true that they want a coach with HC experience they won't be hiring this week unless it's Caldwell or someone we haven't heard yet. Personally I think Whisenhut goes to Detroit.

Why would there be any more of a media circus with Jay Gruden as opposed to any other candidate? And what would make him less qualified than the other coaching candidates?

Under league rules, assistants on teams that win first-round playoff games this weekend can be interviewed for head coaching jobs next week. Such interviews must take place in the city in which the assistant works and the assistant’s current team has input as to when the interview takes place. Those assistants are not eligible to be interviewed a second time by the same team until their current team is eliminated from the playoffs or until a second-interview window opens later in the postseason. They cannot be hired by a team for a head coaching job with their current team still in the playoffs.
