Cousins is CFL type talent. Plus he is whining about an opportunity to start everyday and I am tired of hearing it. Go to Cananda already!!!

Don't hate on the CFL. Warren Moon played in the CFL, so did Joe Theismann. Can't imagine what Moon's stats would be in today's NFL. He'd have 5,000 yards every year. |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
What I do like is RG3 is being quiet. Just go about your business, get your work in this offseason and be quiet.

you've noticed that too? Coworker mentioned the same thing couple weeks ago. I think he's learned alot about all forms of media; what works and what doesn't. |

So did Mike Sellers. They're rare exceptions. The CFL is where you go to just get on the field "somewhere" and keep your dream alive. |

Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Cousin isn't doing any whining, he is answering questions when reporters ask them. No team is giving us a high pick for him, we are better off keeping him for now.

Interesting thread.
The new troll has reasserted himself and the Monkeydad witch hunt has now been cross threaded. |

Wow, useful post. :D How dare I mention Mike Sellers when someone names CFL players.
Interesting thread. If I think about it too closely, it would be creepy how he seems to sit and wait for me to post, then follows me around he forum when I do come on. |

Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Yes we do. ;)
Someone's opinion on teams that should make an offer for Cousins: NFL Trade Rumors: Teams That Should Make Offer on Kirk Cousins | Bleacher Report Honestly, I don't see anyone thinking Kirk would be a good starting candidate for them. The Raiders are rumored to be interested in Vick. The Vikings are a revolving door at QB and who knows how they value the ones they have. I expect Hoyer to be the man in Cleveland if he comes back from ACL surgery OK and unless a team gets blocked from their QB on draft day, I don't see us getting an offer worth considering. He really hurt his value late in the year even though it wasn't all his fault. It was a circus by then. |

Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Httr24-7 twitter saying people starting to call about Cousins. No teams named yet, but apparently Kyle was a cousins fan. I always thought shanny was the bigger cousins fan.
If we could add another top 75 pick, this would be a huge win for Bruce. |

Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Cousins trade makes sense for other teams, they could draft a QB have him sit for two years, KC has two years left on his contract he teaches the system to the drafted QB if KC is playing lights out you sign him to a longer deal and trade the drafted QB. Better than sleveland signing sexy rexy.

Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
I would love slevelands first 3rd round pick.
|
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
I would like it if the Redskins kept Cousins. If he plays for a team with a good offensive line, and respectable defense he will develop into a good QB. Most inexperienced QBs will struggle when they have to throw 44 passes a game.
Plus he is earning next to nothing for 2 more years. |

I would like CJ as well. Would love if he fell to 51. |

If we could pull of trading cousins and our second for a late first rounder we could be in a good position to grab someone like CJ Mosley or maybe a top safety prospect that may have fallen a little bit. I'd be pretty happy with that. |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
He is really a great backup. But really needs to find a way where he can grow. Meaning a new team. And the Redskins, as good as he is, as long as RGIII is there, sorry will only be a backup. Unless that changes as anything can change.
|
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
If KC stays so be it, but his value will never be higher.

Maybe you guys should get together. :cheeky: |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
If KC stays so be it, but his value will never be higher.
not necessarily. if Cousins has a good pre-season, or plays because RG3 gets hurt his value will go up. also when starting QBs get hurt, or underachieve the demand goes up. |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Let's say you bring KC in now 2yrs remaining on rookie contract first year 10-6 second year 6-10 you can resign him for a team favorable contract or start the rookie you had sitting on the bench fot 2yrs. Better than bringing KC in next year last year of his rookie contact team goes 10-6 KC has all the contract leverage then team goes 7-9 and team looks like it's being mismanaged.

I agree. KC's most valuable asset is his youth. The younger we sell him, if we do, the higher the price. |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
There should be no urgency to trade Cousins. Unless we're offered a good deal, like 2nd rounder or guaranteed good starter at another position, I'm happy we have a decent backup QB.

Colt McCoy is a decent backup qb. Time to trade Cousins |
I agree trade em for a 3rd or 4th
|
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Unload the boy now before he gets any older or throws any more picks.
An extra third rounder this year would be pretty sweet. |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Any suggestions on which team would give us the best trade?

Browns have the most to give away and would be the stupidest team and probably give us the most. |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Any suggestions on which team would give us the best trade?
My guess would be the browns since they have 10 draft picks (7 of them being in the first 4 rounds). I'm sure it also doesn't hurt that Kyle Shanahan is their OC and he likes Kirk. If not the browns then i can see it being a team that might skip out on drafting a qb early in the draft like the Jaguars or the Raiders. Maybe even the Vikings. |

How about Arizona, TB or the Rams? |
Re: Cousins Open to Trade.
Trading for Cousins makes sense for a lot of teams, if they think he can develop into a good QB. You have all the QB needy teams like Houston, Jacksonville, Minnesota, and maybe Cleveland and Tampa Bay that could play him immediately. Then you have the teams like Arizona and Oakland with veteran QBs that could sit him for a few years before having him start.
I don't think he'll ever be more than a great backup/below-average starter, and if someone offers a 3rd or a 4th plus a later pick, we need to take it. Also, if we're really fielding offers and are actually interested in trading him, we need to do it this offseason, preferably before the draft. We won't get peanuts for him next year. |

The draft is this week, so if it happens, it will happen this week. I think it happens on or right before draft day. Would be nice to pick up an extra 3rd and/or 4th. |
