I think he'll go with #18 ... Dunno why, just a thought
It just doesn't look right when WR's go with jersey numbers other than those in the 80's. Really doesn't matter, though.

"But if Jackson coveted stability, a chance to win and a place where he could make the most of his vast potential, then it's difficult to see the logic in his decision. That's because he's just joined an organization that has been a long-running joke in the league for a good reason. And as Jackson is about to find out, that's not about to change with his arrival."

Hard to argue with some of that. Only one way to shut it up.

Yes alot of it is true as far as the past goes, except that we showed great patience and restraint this off season. We did not overpay for our "splash" player. We have BA in the front office. We have a new coach. We have a franchise QB. We are not following the same blue print for failure that we have been following for 20 years. To say that we cannot change as an organization you must have your head up your ass because we are proving that we are at least willing to change. It may not mean we are going to win, but not because we are being stupid like we have been in the past.

Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson

... I also don't understand this reason against signing DeSean Jackson: the Redskins had bigger holes to fill.

First, there's not any current free agent of any worth that you could compare to the impact of Jackson for the Redskins, whether it was at free safety or not.

Second, at the time of Jackson's release - however the Redskins handled free agency up to that point doesn't preclude signing Jackson. What I mean by this is - just because we didn't sign Darius Byrd or anyone else who we lost out on - it doesn't mean that by default the Redskins lost (in free agency) and should give up on trying to make the team better.

Third, I would argue that signing Jackson, would allow for more opporturnity to fill the "bigger" holes through the draft because there should be no reason to look at drafting a wide receiver. I would consider in a way that this recoups our first round draft pick that was lost to the Rams (somewhat more expensive, but still).

All I keep thinking is Play-Action Pass, Deep.
Our read option should be improved as well with the extra speed.

We might be on the verge of something very exciting.

Couldnt agree more. This should allow us to really focus on oline and secondary help in the draft. Simply a wr was not really on my wishlist, because between Garcon, Reed, and Roberts I thought we could atleast be a good offense and we had other holes to fill (lol). However the dynamic of Jacksons game just makes this offense brutally tough to match up with. Who do you double team? Do you dare play off the line and allow Almo and RG-3 to run it down your throat? The only worry I have, and I think others have but dont want to admit - is - which RG-3 are we going to get? Was last years poor passing due to injury, gameplanning, etc or was it due to he is not a great passing qb? Sometimes last year it just seemed he was missing so bad. As always this season will hinge on the play of our qb. Personally I think that he will be electrifying through the air and on the ground. Or atleast I hope so. HTTR!

Someone mentioned earlier about Jordan Reed benefiting from this.
Picture Jackson and Garcon running fly routes with Reed coming across the middle and or underneath.....

Right or wrong, Chip Kelly probably thought Jackson became more expendable with the signing of Sproles. Remember, Sproles also lines up out wide.

lol, sproles and maclin combined don't equal half the talent of desean jackson. Its laughable if they think they will use sproles or maclin to make up for his ridiculous production. Look for the Eagles to drop in offensive rankings bigtime this year.

There's always the chance the Eagles seriously botched this situation. Time will tell.
Just to be clear I wasnt saying the Eagles fleeced us unless.........they are so diabolically clever that they knew by releasing him the skins would pick him up and the cancer they think he is would spread thru our team like wildfire and implode us from within :laughing2

It just seems too damn good to be true that we could get this lucky to pick up a talent like him for nothing, like maybe he's the Eagles trojan horse:)

Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson

The media is giving the eagles organization too much credit for how they operate. They did well with hiring Chip Kelly, but it looks like he's believing that his way is better than everyone else's. But before him, the eagles organization was on a down trend. Remember Asomougha? And remember the eagles the last couple of seasons with Reid? That's why Reid got fired.

Eagles - one of the model organizations? I don't think so.

The funniest thing is that a week or so ago someone posted an article that graded offseasons and we were at a D. Now we sign an unexpected bonus player and we are the champs. Its such event driven gobbledygook that it's just funny.

With the wr's we have now, plus a potentially stud pass catching TE, I believe the offense now becomes, or should become a pass first offense. Hate to rain on the parade today but the question now becomes, can Griffin run it? And can the line protect well enough for us to run that type of offense?

Oh no, they did NOT take a shot at Grossman! That is unforgivable. Rex has been a trooper the last two years and I have become fond of him.

Basically that is a list of draftees and free agents who didn't pan out, just like any team might have. No nuance to that thinking.

RG III has been working hard this offseason. He looks great and honestly I would be shocked if we saw anything resembling his game, save the bears game of what we saw last year. The guy works and will be great again.

Given the weapons we have now of offense I am pretty confident in our ability to win the east this year. I was anyway. DJax just cemented our contender status in the east.

Has anyone thought of how it will be near imPOSSible to stack the box with even 7 guys now? I mean, this move couldn't have opened up more opportunities for the rushing as well as the passing game.

Alfred Morris might score 12 TDs and lead the league in rushing next year. Good god we now have some playmakers. If the defense can even just marginally improve from last year, we will win the east.

I have been watching different media outlets views on this signing and it's mixed reviews. I think for the most part this is a positive signing for us . I mean the 49ers had a late push to try to get him to come in for a visit. Of course if the unsigned him what a brilliant move they would tell us . I think we have a national dislike among the media because our nickname and Dan Synder . I don't know if we will be a playoff team this year but we improved our team from this signing . Brandon Marshall had a bad rep with the Broncos and had off the field domestic incidents before he was traded to the Bears . People can change so I believe DeSean will have a different view with our team . The Eagles tried to ruin his market value and no teammates came out to defend him. This will motivate him to be a better player and teammate . Late the Haters hate . HTTR all day
