No, they we low-grade thin steaks. He was not going with crab legs or anything else bulky. And I didn't eat any. But he later traded some of the steaks for a doobie which I may or may not have shared.

But steaks are within scope, it's college. 1. Beer 2. Denny/Waffle House late night meals 3. Christmas trees 4. Stop signs 5. Beef jerky 6. Girlfriends 7. College texts 8....215.Steaks........324.Crab legs. It's all within scope when your in college. U just can't get caught, then it's illegal and your a dumbass. That's kinda the rule.

Yeah he's definitely bulked up, here's to hoping he can be what the team has needed for a long time at that position.

I feel like I 've talked too much about Bridgewater on here, but you wanted to know what we think about it, so here goes. I think all this talk about him sliding into the 2nd round because of poor workouts in shorts is ridiculous. He's still the best QB in this draft, and if you want to see it for yourself, ignore his pro day, and look at the game film. See how he performs in game situations. This dude is the next Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, that's right... I just compared Bridgewater to one of best QBs in the NFL. Whoever drafts this guy is getting a great arm, a great mind, a great set of wheels, and a franchise QB capable of leading a team on and off the field.

Drew Brees had a terrible Combine performance, and he's one of the best passers and best all-around QBs in the NFL; Cam Newton had a mediocre pro day and a bad Combine as well, and he's one of the top young passers in the NFL. Speaking of Cam Newton, what did his poor Combine performance do to his draft stock? That's right; he was taken #1 overall. So all Mayock's talk about Bridgewater going in the 2nd round because of a bad workout is simply insane. Not only will Bridgewater be drafted high, he will quickly prove that he was the best QB in this draft, and he will take his rightful place along side Andrew Luck, RG3, and a couple of other young QBs as the new generation of torch-carriers. Love me some Bridgewater!

There. Do you know how I feel about it now? :D

MTK 05-01-2014 06:15 PM

Putting more stock in a pro day over game tape is definitely insane. I think it's more media hype than reality. I think he still goes first round.

But, hey, I'd be happy if Teddy B falls to 34. More trade suitors that way.

Part of me likes that idea but another way I see it is the more guys we don't need picked before 34 the better the chances someone we could really use falls to us. In a perfect world I would hope that Borles {QB UCF}, Bridgewater {QB Louisville}, Manziel {QB A&M}, McCarron {QB Bama}, and Carr {QB Fresno} are drafted before 34, provided of course the ones destined to be succesful end up in the AFC.

However is it just me or does it seem like the Texans are planning on using a similar blueprint to that of the 2001 Chargers where they will take Clowney first then take whatever QB they like either by staying put in the second or trading back into the first round like the 2007 Browns did with Quinn.

Well to be fair I don't think Romo is really much of a douchebag. Maybe a bit of a fame whore but I wouldn't put him in the d-bag category. Manziel on the other hand seems like he could easily become a platinum member if he isn't already.

It will be interesting to see where he falls. I just can't believe that he slips to the 2nd round, all because of a bad pro day. I mean how can anyone ignore his game tape playing a pro style offense? Didn't JaMarcus Russell have the best pro day of all time? lol. These pro days are a joke to me.

Good move. My feeling right now is there is a competition between Kerrigan and Rak where whoever has the better season in the coming year gets the long term extension.

I want them both resigned long term. Orakpo is an elite pass rusher, while Kerrigan is a great pass rusher and a great all-around OLB. Together, they make a sexy QB-destroying duo, and if Haslett wants our defense built around a rush, then we need to lock both up long term. Resign them, continue to draft more Brandon Jenkins', and over the next few drafts get some more great pass rushers for the DL. Creating holes where we could be great is not the correct way to do business. We need to strengthen our pass rush in every draft rather than rebuild it.

Not really a fan of the tone in this. But I guess we have to wait and see.
Hatcher was impressed with how things are done under new coach Jay Gruden. “They really take care of the veteran guys. They give us more say-so over the team. This is our team,” he said. “The head coach doesn’t want to be policing the team. This is our team, so when we set the foundation for this football team, the way it’s supposed to go, that’s the way it’s supposed to go, through the players and not the coaches. It’s a players team, so whatever we say goes, pretty much, if it’s going in the right direction.”
The first bold is worrisome, because I think we have seen in Miami and other cases where that does not work well. The second bold is the part I hope means that Gruden has given more guidelines than Hatcher seems to be implying.

Gruden doesn't strike me as a guy that will let the players run wild.

I think Hatcher is just seeing a more relaxed player focused atmosphere here vs Dallas, where I assume it's a super tight ship with Jerry looking over everyone's shoulder.

Yeah, I found those comments very interesting. But Hatcher makes it sound like someone in Dallas was running the team too closely, and this is a change he approves of. We'll see.

I wonder what all this veteran say-so entails. What does Hatcher mean when he says, "This is our team, so when we set the foundation for this football team that's the way it's supposed to go, through the players and not the coaches?"
