No instead they had to worry about a QB that could read the field, not take off at the first sense of pressure, and could get rid of the ball before being hit. Just saying, there is something to be said for game prep for their different styles. |

Generally speaking I agree with you, but we've seen backup QB's come in and play lights out before despite not being better than the one they're filling in for (we've seen plenty do it against us...) You prepare for certain things then you have someone total different come in with a different style, different set of abilities, and potentially different set of play calls. You guys want to use 3 1/2 quarters against Jacksonville to anoint Cousins a play maker as a QB - go right ahead :) I'll wait and see what the whole body of work of a season looks like. When he's the one getting the reps all week, and when he's the one the defense is preparing against. :) |

I think most teams would rather play a pocket QB vs a guy that can run and make plays on the edge. |

I'm not really familiar with those moves or how they were driven by an owner concerned about marketing and/or the 'popularity' of the player? The bottom line is there are a lot of fans that think that Snyder will have a say in the matter, and that his say will be influenced by marketing/popularity/money and not winning. And those fans have a legit reason for thinking that. That's not how quality organizations are run. That's how the Cowboys are run. That's how the Redskins were run under Ceratto and Snyder. Quality organizations let 'stars' leave, or sit on the bench, when someone better is available. Quality organizations are interested in winning, not how many jerseys a guy sells. |

I'm not sure I agree with that. Mobile QBs can be frustrating, but a skilled pocket passer can roll right over defenses. Would you rather play Peyton Manning in his prime, or Michael Vick? I know neither of our QBs are anything like them, but I'm just making a point. |

And coverages tend to break down as the play extends leading to big plays. At least with a pocket guy you know where he's going to be all the time. A guy that can run and throw just adds a different dynamic. With Cousins in there you can bet the Jags weren't worried about him taking off. |

Re: Skins-Jags Positives and Negatives
How about we give KC a few more games before we call him our savior? But he made some throws yesterday that RG3 simply doesn't make. However, he's going to throw some INT's simply because it's the nature of how he plays. Hopefully he can make more positive plays over negative ones.

I agree that Cousins is not a running QB, but he is mobile. When the streach runs are working and he can bootleg, and he usually does pretty well with those. He didn't have Deshawn Jackson at all and he still played well and Garcon caught maybe one pass. If they can get him more in tune with those guys who are legit playmakers, he could be even better. I mean really you had Niles Paul and A. Roberts making all the plays. just imagine if Garcon and DJax were there as well. |

Re: Skins-Jags Positives and Negatives
How about more positives?? Two rookies that are going to be here a long time...Breeland and Grant. We all loved getting DJax but Grant is going to have to be on the field it seems. He should've had a TD on the corner post but Cousins threw it too early. All that kid does is get open.

Re: Skins-Jags Positives and Negatives
Grant just gets open. Great pick.

Well in Kirks defense the guy has never really taken snaps with the first team on a consistent basis except for last year when the season was already over. Lets see how he does when not only he is named the starter, but the shit still means something, and the players around you, (and coaching staff), havent thrown in the towel. |

shocker. Im in with the praise of treeland and Grant. Both are contributing...but Amerson is looking like a boss, big time. Big big test for the defense next weekend against ego kelly and egoles. The way you beat a soft team is hit them in the mouth and we got the Defense to do it. |

If your defense or offense can not adapt on the fly you should not be in the NFL. This is football not brain surgery. |

Nice to just be excited about a game. If we play well and lose in a good game i will still be happy about the season. Looking at the schedule I have us losing to the birds twice and still finishing 10-6. So a win in Philly would be huge. |

Philly isn't all that especially on D.

Through the first two games, Dallas has had the best statistical defense in the division.
To me that means this division is wide open and if Cousins can get hot... |

Weren't ready for that mighty Jags attack eh? lol They were dead last against the pass last year and pretty much have the same personnel this year. Luck could have a huge night. |

Re: Skins-Jags Positives and Negatives
Yeah, not too scared of Philly's D. If we are competent and avoid turnovers (pretty big "ifs" given the team's recent past), pretty sure we can move the ball on them.
Unlike the Jags, however, the Eagles O-Line is made up of quality starters. We will not be getting 10 sacks against them. Bringing pressure without losing track of players coming out of the backfield is going to be huge. I think K. Robinson will have a big impact on the birds game. Last year, the Eagles exploited Fletcher - even with his experience, he just didn't have the speed cover the options presented by their offensive scheme. Robinson, however, does. The question is whether or not he will recognize the play quickly enough to shut down the option. ... and safety play. B. Merriweather coming back should - hopefully - be big. Cannot afford missed tackles on the back end like a soon to be unemployed safety with a cool name has done so far this season. |

ESPN screwed with me. They have Washington giving up 23.5 points per game. That is how much they score. I thought it didn't make sense because no one has scored above 20 yet against them. My mistake, I should have double checked it. So now Washington has the best defense in the NFL... by a safe margin. Plus they don't play an offense that I would consider elite this year. The skins might have one of the best statistical defenses in the NFL this year. |
