what sucks is now we have no trade value for Kirk or RG3 now.

or Colt Gruden is bluffing, I am closing my eyes tight. This is gonna hurt. This decision will define him. He blaming it all on RG3, Colts have no defense so we should be able t shoot it out with them. |
DJax had that perfect toss from RG bounce off his hands on Sunday. RG is the only QB on the roster who can make that throw.
I don't want to give Snyder too much credit, but letting McCoy start probably tells us whether Gruden should keep his job after the season. If McCoy disappoints, Gruden will have burned through every QB on the roster in a single season. After Colt there's nobody else to focus on but Jay. Next 5 weeks will be interesting.
DJax is probably the only Receiver that could have gotten himself in a position to catch that under thrown ball into double coverage. Nice that Griffin can make the pass no one else can, but can't make the passes everyone can else can. Grasping. |

Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
There are a lot of good posts on the last few pages of this thread.
I seriously doubt that the Skins will attempt to trade Kirk. He is a fit for this offense and a number of quality NFL QB's threw a lot of int's early in their careers. He can be developed. I think the Skins may find that the return on a trade of RGIII for draft picks will be shockingly low. I'd like to be wrong on this point. I think Colt's play will be satisfactory. The Skins will probably re-sign him. I feel that Colt is a better player than he was in Cleveland. I don't think that Jay Gruden is playing mind games with higher management over RGIII. He has tried to make it work with RGIII but now he needs to gain the trust of his other players by trying to win some games with Colt. His players need to enjoy some success and hear a lot less public criticism. |

I get some of what you're saying (really want the investment to pay off, rare talent, etc.), but seriously, do you feel lower heading into this weekend than you did just after the Tampa game? It doesn't get much lower for me than that game. |
I guess Joey T. was right.
Ron Jaworski was right too. He's the first one I remember criticizing RG3's mechanics. It's just sad that production never improved. Well, time to move on. Not much more to say. |
McCoy to Start Against Indy
Im over the feeling sad thing that the RG-3 trade looks like it might have backfired. Dude did give us a division crown and atleast when people talk shit about us I can point to that.
More importantly though, I maintain the belief that with a serviceable QB (whether it be someone on the roster rite now or not), coupled with solid cap money and a full compliment of draft picks that based on what I have seen (texans, birds, vikings, niners - all winnable games), that this team will compete in a big way going forward. Please don't send him to a division foe. |
Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
He will be a monster if he learns to do all the things he is struggling terribly with. I dont care what kind of offense you run - you have to be able to see the damn field and get rid of the ball.

Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
RG3 has zero game...ain't nobody worried about his ass doing much of anything. The best thing we can do is trade him within the division to the Cowboys. At best he has one or two decent games a season, at worst he won't get to play. Even Chip Kelly with his spread offense has no use for a gimpy and panicky QB that can't get past the first read.
|
Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
There has been some talk that RG3 doesn't get another job unless it as a backup. Is there any chance he's out of the NFL whatsoever? I think at least one more team has to give him a chance.

Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
Far too early to close the book on him.

Trashing RGIII after he has been benched contributes nothing. Please try to say something thoughtful about him one time to establish your credibility. |

It may be harsh, but alot of experts agree that he is pretty damn inept rite now. Not sure how paying him a token compliment makes the truth any less painful. Lol. Edit: i know you are talking to Saden, but i see his point. I dont like it, but i cant deny it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No doubt....a lot can happen between now and next September. |
Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
I'm excited about the future of this franchise. Gruden seems to be on the right track of playing his players and not taking shit from Snyder. I understand people want to play RG3 to see what he can do, but the other 52 guys in the locker room work just as hard as he does and the deserve to win now.

Now if only we had a front office, decent scouts, a qb coach, a new DB coach, and D coordinator... |

We always tend to have egg on our face after stunts like that. I'd rather not risk sending him to Philly and him looking good. |
Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
he has been successful in the NFL. at best he could be a pro bowl franchise player for another team. Just like he was his rookie year. Could easily see another team trade a mid-round pick for him and get a great player in return.
I am done with him being the QB in Washington though. Unless drastic changes happen within himself and this organization. I don't think either will happen though. |

He will probably get fired for it. |
Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
RGIII has had 4 1/2 regular season games with Gruden, in my opinion that's not enough time. Yeah, he's raw, has regressed, etc. I say bring him back next year for a due or die and let's see what happens. If RGIII wants to succeed he must immerse himself on learning how to play in thr pocket, hire someone to help him out.

I'm just over the 20 year cluster fuck that is the Redskins. Love them, but it's tough.

Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
Grudens no genius im pretty sure of that. Once again im gonna break it down to talent id like to retain moving forward and thats it. Kerrigan, Breeland, Amerson, Morris, Djax, Garcon, Morris, Trent, Lichtensteiger, matter fact all of our linebackers.
On another note our TEs are too small. Reed, Niles. Both small our wrs are small we need a mismatch at TE not somebody smaller than mike evans or megatron playing TE imo. I like Reed in an Ertz role like they have him in Philly. Both cant block either were not gonna resolve our issues there a Blocking and catching Te is that too much to ask? Basicly if you mixed Paul with Paulsen youd get the guy i want. And im only talking tight end lol this team needs a major overhaul. Edit- on another last note. In regards to RGs benching. I do believe that griffin truly lost the locker room, especially with his WRs. Andre Roberts never get the ball. Garcon barely gets touches, even Djax when hes in, though he did hit Djax for a couple bombs two games ago. But garcon.. He never gets the ball when Griffins in. Thing is.. The last game we player the 9ers. They have no slouch of a defense. Ok theyre missing Willis? They had Aldon back and they have a young kid at mlb by the name of Borland who might as well be Willis right now lookin like Kuechly out there. My point is... Its not like we played the Jags and Rgs looking like a bum out there. Eli just threw 4 ints against that same defense. |

No but it doesnt... Snyder isnt going anywhere, hes just not. He doesnt play on sundays. Hes in his box with Tom Cruise. |
Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
No way we trade him to Dallas lol
|
Re: McCoy to Start Against Indy
Kirk Cousins is the perfect QB for Gruden's system. If his system is so good and RG3 the problem, why did Kirk struggle so bad? If we draft a QB it will be another Cousins from a pro style system.

WTF happened? So much promise, thought we would be owning the division for a decade or so or at least in the hunt. Was the injury that damaging? |

And is a primary reason for the way things are now. For example, many people thought Shanahan was full of crap blaming Snyder for preferential treatment of RG3. Yet now with Shanny gone, we have rumors from the Redskins that was indeed the case. |

I just think RG has a poor attitude and the mix of being Snyder's pet didn't help. Where in Portis case, he was the voice for all his teammates to Snyder. |

I wish I had a time machine so we could stick Colt in there vs the 9ers, watch him throw picks with Grudens ass playcalling. Hes not Jon... hes not. My three best friends are all brothers, ones dumb, ones smart, ones sorta.. the last name means nothing to me.

Those shitty plays had guys running open all day and the film shows it. But while time travel isn't possible, you can definitely edit the film to see what you want to see. Right now though it just shows a bunch of wide open receivers and a lost QB who can't get them the ball. |
