7-9 wouldnt surprise me, but then again neither would 9-7 |
SF i always took you for a pretty sensible guy based on your comments. But please stay away from the the e pre-season kool aid. Lol. Especially when its being mixed by a bunch of guys that may or may not even make the team. Who the hell cares what our record is? Our starters have been absolutely abused by three other teams starters so far. We have looked completely unprepared coming out in every game. You want to point to the fact that we were leading at halftime? Lets not forget that we had a damn lucky td catch, and that it was a miracle they didnt atleast get three before the half. I hope to God we are a good team this year, but Im sorry im seeing a team that is once again drafting in the top five. No doubt.
What went on? We were getting lit up by Flacco and Smith and that would have continued all night if he had not gotten ejected. We werent scoring until we were the beneficiaries of a very lucky catch. The only thing that I will take away from tonite is that our QB looked half way decent and not completely lost. And ill take that as a huge plus. I could care less what the final score of the game was. If this were the regular season they would have spanked us. |

Lucky?
It's a two way street. Goes your way, goes the other. Give me the list of maybe the last three teams you heard....proclaim they got points they did not deserve? Let's see, KC could easily have cratered as maybe the biggest performance of his career. But....he did not. Even after his INT...he didn't. He played pretty well. With several....key starters out, we posted (with starters on starters) a winning score at the half and our 2nd and thirds mopped their 2 and 3 squad. That's...what...went...on Kick their ass when they deserve, but give a few accolades when deserved... |
Re: Skins v Ravens - Sat night at 7:30
was at the game & it started to look like it was gonna be a long night...then, *poof*, the 'Skins got a few breaks that went our way.
Kirk looked better than we've seen, but he was still throwing behind guysand I felt he was staring the receivers down still. But, after a rocky start, he finished well. I didn't read anybody talking about McCoy though. His passes were really on the mark, leading receivers, putting the ball on the right side of his receivers, etc. He even threw the ball away on a broken play in the red zone...he lived to fight another day & eventually scored. |

The lucky bounce on the TD catch hit Roberts perfectly & should've been caught.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Agree. Hit him in the hands. I like Jones at RB and I like that KC got the ball out quick and that he didn't wilt after the INT (oy!). D got going once SS and Flaco sat down. Smith was on a 300 yard pace... It's about what I thought--we're not that bad and we're not that good. I think 6-10 or 7-9 with signs of improvement as we go is a great year. Seriously. Then another round of drafting and FAing with McC. Like that the D is looking stouter in the front, though the back looks familiar, I'm afraid. Ah, well. Rome wasn't built in a day. PS I frigin hate Harbaugh and enjoyed seeing his whiney ass get chapped as the game went on. Go back and stay on your own fucking sideline, putz. You tell em, Jay! |

Re: Skins v Ravens - Sat night at 7:30
Our OLine and QB played there best . We had some young guys on Defense play well , Jeffcoat , P. Smith and Jarrett . As far as the fight , bad move by K. Robinson , he will likely get a nice fine from the NFL office .

Re: Skins v Ravens - Sat night at 7:30
And keep in mind Desean Jackson did not play. He REALLY changes the way defenses play us.
No sacks. The line deserves kudos. |

At the very least, he should have caught it and it should have been first and goal from about the 8 yard line. At least they were in a position to attempt a touchdown pass. The Offense moved and our QB wasn't getting thrown around like a rag doll. Major improvement. |

For a guy who hasn't played with the ones and was in a heated battle just to be a backup, KC had more production in one pre-season game than our proclaimed starter had in 5. With RG3 being the alternative, I don't see how anyone could have anything negative to say about Kirk's performance. Would you really rather have RG3 back there? It's hard to play the position with less competence. |
Re: Skins v Ravens - Sat night at 7:30
Not sure what people were expecting but the Ravens are a SB contending team. They make the playoffs just about every year. They're better than we are.
I saw a lot of positives but there are still some glaring weaknesses. Poor tackling and teams continue to be issues. I don't think Amerson should be on an NFL field. He may have the tools and all, but he just can't get get the job done on game day. Can't tackle or cover. May need to move on from him. |

Goldson is probably going to be a starter and he will hurt us. I can foresee the Skins ending the season with a younger starter at FS. |

Can't dismiss the fact the INT was bad, and he fumbled a snap, but overall he played well. |

Also Kerrigan didn't play either, but I was very impressed with Preston Smith and Jackson Jeffcoat |

I was unable to watch most of this game. Did Kirk face many blitzes? I know usually in most preseason games teams don't biltz much.

Re: Skins v Ravens - Sat night at 7:30
I was at the game last night (with my Ravens fans wife and daughter, I was enjoying every moment of getting in trouble) and it got me really excited for the season. I mean, I don't expect a breakthrough season by any means, but just feel like it won't be so embarrassing to be a Redskins fan anymore. Time will tell of course, but it was awesome to hear all the Redskins fans dominating the stadium last night. Seriously, I don't know if BMo fans don't know how to cheer or maybe they're saving it up for the regular season, but when the Redskins Offense was at work it was almost silent in the stadium, except on 3rd downs, but every Ravens Offensive play you could hear skins fans making noise. The team was hyped and so were the fans, I was a proud Redskins fan for the first time since 2012. I hope it wasn't the last time this year.

If flacco n smith can burn us like that than we are in trouble against our division foes. Especially if Bradford stays healthy. With our luck he will be healthy all year now that we play him twice. I expected our special teams not to go into dumbass mode when we finally grab momentum with 20 seconds left in the half. I expected the playcalling to be better. I expected us to be prepared to play football when the game started. Basically i expected all of the bone headed things we have been doing for several years to be less glaring. They were not. How many third and longs did they convert early on when it was the first teamers? That shit has been killling us forever. 3rd and 13. They get 15. Third and 9. They get 11. It was the same old crap. I was extremely happy with KC hanging in there and bouncing back and its quite obvious after last night that our o-line is not nearly as dysfunctional when griff isnt under center. I think d-jax will make a huge difference and our run game might have the best one two punch in the game, but none of this will matter much if we dont do the basic shit we need to do to win a game - like tackling, and taking naps on third and long. |

He was under pressure and the Ravens were blitzing. I think the thing that KC did was just not sit back there and hold on to the ball. It was coming out. NO SACKS. That's what he did/does well and that really helps out the linemen. It also looked like he adjusted the protections a few times as well. Certainly not a great performance or anything, but solid. I think that's what we'll see more him most of the year if they stay with him. He's probably never going to be great, or will carry the team. Just not that type of player. But he's probably the best out of the three for this offense. |

Just watched the game and If RGIII had played, with the way the Ravens defense was playing, it would have been a blow out. Ravens would have been ahead by 21 points before the half. KC was getting heat and by getting rid of the ball quickly KC avoided several sacks. that double clutch, hold on to the ball too long RGIII would have been sacked 4 time before half. Probably would have been injured as well. |
