Re: First place Redskins
How about this shit guys? Here it is after Christmas and we're still relevant. Expectations have been met.

I'd say exceeded. Back in August did anyone think we'd be able to lock up the division tonight? I sure as hell didn't. |

I wanted nothing less than 6-10 and to be consistently competitive with a reputation as a tough SOB team that doesn't roll over. So my expectations have been exceeded. Couple of hiccups but the trend has been growth to respectability. |
Re: First place Redskins
My goal this year was 8-8. Had no idea that would involve playoffs. Icing on the cake if we pull it off tonight.
Still more than 5 hours to go. |
Re: First place Redskins
Like I said all season, 7 wins would be a huge success.
|
Re: First place Redskins
playoffs.... feels good.
|
Re: First place Redskins
This team, this year, has exceeded all expectations

Re: First place Redskins
Apologies if this has already been posted. I couldn't find it in an exhaustive 1 minute 30 second search but I think this matters and is a testament to this team's resolve:
NFL Regular Season-End Games Missed Due to Injury January 4, 2016 - Man Games Lost We were in the top 4 in lost time to injuries and still made the playoffs. Check out the list and notice the teams or lack thereof that made the playoffs that ranked high. I'm really proud of this team. |

I have zero sympathy. We have dealt with as much as anyone and found a way. More credit to SM and Gruden. |

Re: First place Redskins
Quick random thought about the RG3 trade (triggered by news of the Rams' filing for relocation):
Since 2012, the St. Louis Rams have finish with a record under .500; finishing either 3rd or 4th in their division. Their record during the past four season since the trade: 27-36-1. Since 2012, the Redskins have won two division titles, with two losing seasons in between the division titles. Their record in this span is: 26-38. If I'm a Rams fan, I'd be wondering why the team doesn't focus on firing Jeff Fisher and finding a better coaching staff, as oppose to trying to move to LA. |
Re: First place Redskins
I agree that Fisher is the pits and his firing is long overdue. That would be the single biggest bonus the Rams could have ---- getting a new HC.

My guess is that once the Rams get their location settled, which I hope is St. Louis, the ownership will consider firing Fisher. |

Everyone killed us for that trade and yet we still have more to show for it

Are you referring to RGIII's great rookie season? If you're talking about the 2005 season, the Redskins' improvement was totally unrelated to that trade. As you know, Griffin didn't play a snap this season. Because of RGIII's injuries, the Rams ultimately got much more out of that trade, IMO. |

The Rams suck but id take those two first rounders n whoever we would have taken instead if griff at this point. At the time it needed to be done n u can never take away the division crown of 2012. Now though - hell yes id trade it for the three players. |
Re: First place Redskins
The Rams haven't sniffed the playoffs since the trade. We've made it twice with two different QB's.

And this years draft more than made up for the RGIII compensation. |
Re: First place Redskins
Tired of talking about that trade anyway. I'd call it a wash, clearly neither team gained any sort of advantage in the long run.

Also the Rams have played in a tougher division than we have. They've had to play SF when they were one of the best teams in the NFL, Seattle and now Az. Had the Rams played in a weaker division they might have made the playoffs a few times. Maybe.... Really neither team has won the trade. |

If anything I think both teams lost the trade, meaning they would have been equal or better than they are now if the trade had not occurred. What a shame for all the fans... biggest winner in the trade was the media. Lots of fodder for years to come. |
Re: First place Redskins
I hope jones is ready last I heard he had a setback last week. Williams is a good signing for the playoffs

I know that, I'm talking about the impact it made this year and makes forget about what was supposedly lost. |

The RG3 trade has everything to do with where we are, we had to stink so bad until Snyder put football guys in charge. Come on Bro!

Well, if we don't take Griffin, and take Tannehill, do we still take Cousins? If we had all our picks, and muddled through 8-8's do we hire SM? All of the trade talk is just speculation, but it's hard to see things going the same path if we didn't do that trade? |
