Great time to remind ourselves, that "in Scot we trust."

Gotta assume he knows what he's doing, reminds me of the Scherff pick last year. We were like "who?". That worked out, we know. There will be a cap reckoning on wide receivers next year, this protects us from that problem. Also, plenty of big bodies left on defense and offense.

Garçon should definitely be concerned, this probably means it's his last year with us, unless Jackson costs too much to retain.

6'2", huge vertical, strong hands. He is the possession receiver who Kirk can throw a 50/50 ball to and expect him to come down with a 1st down.

The closest thing we had to that last year was Jordan Reed. I wanted defense (even though I'm a BPA fan), but I don't hate it.

Here is the bright side. This guy could be a huge playmaker and we could still pick up dline impact immediate starter in the second round. It is extremely deep with dline. Just because its not a name we saw over and over in first round mock drafts doesn't mean there isnt a really good front 7 guy there tomorrow. Im stoked. Like i said i looooooove the player.

I thought if they went wr they'd go treadwell, but there are dline that are considered possible starters going all the way through round 3 so they must have some of them in mind during round 2 & 3. Gotta believe there's a method to the confusing madness. Part of this obviously has to be thinking towards the contracts of Jackson and Garçon.

I like the player too....most WR's take a year or two to really gel in the NFL, so making the pick this makes sense.

I'm sure Scott will have us in good position on all fronts.

I just don't see the full plan as yet.

I would not be surprised if either Garcon or Jackson are released this year... or they are asked to renegotiate their contracts. I doubt either one is on the team next year.

Love the player, hate the pick. Whoever said that is spot on. Personally, I really like Garçon and DJax and would hate to see them leave. So many good WRs next year and only 1 football. I really really hope we get some Dline and ILB help. Oh, and safety. We did win our division so I hope we can do something with guys who can help us win now.

Also, this pick up should make Cousins happy, and Scot is showing him that they are giving him more weapons.

In the first round you're looking for a guy who can be a pro bowler. And if you have a shot to do it at a premiere position (in other words, an expensive position), you do it.

Another thing to keep in mind, if we can get to the point where FA isnt a big thing next year, Garcon and/or Jackson could net us a compensatory pick. So if we get Doctson plus another pick next year (outside of the 6th), it could work out well for us. Without this pick, I think we are to worried about resigning both.

To many fans want the draft to be about year 1. At a minimum, you need to be looking at the entire rookie contract of 4 years. Would have preferred a DL, but am good with the pick. Especially since there are a ton of DL still sitting there.

Remember also, Doctson gives us something we don't have outside of Reed, a red zone threat. Doctson is 6'2", two inches taller than our next tallest: Garçon.

Doctson can jump like nobody in our WR corps. This, believe it or not, fills a need now. We needed fade routes in the end zone. Pick your poison in the end zone, Reed or Doctson. No matter what we're scoring.

Just watched a few highlight vids on Youtube. 2 things jumped out.

1) He can really highpoint the ball. So those saying he can go get those 50/50 balls are right.

2) He has a sneaky second gear. He looks to be at full speed then all of a sudden he has a burst to blow past people.

Does he have final say or is that still Baalke? Either way, not a GM you really want.

The run on DL is starting right here at the end of the first. I expect rounds 2 and 3 to be heavy DL picks.

Garnett is a Tre Johnson type dominant G, mean and nasty who can play and they need that on the OL.

Stanford homer. Lol. They also just signed a left guard though? Even if he or Beadles can transition to the right side they gave up way too much for him. Worst pick of the round imo.

Have you seen him play? Could be as good as Sherff. Can also say Cal homer, as I said Goff would the first QB picked last year.
