I do not take a QB at 2 if we make that trade.

Fournette, Adams, Allen, Garrett, Hooker,

All those before a QB, I could see us taking one at 17 or in the 2nd round.

trade down, the Redskins need 10 new contributors and probably will not get much in free agency. There is no QB that should be picked at #2. They could get 3 high picks for the #2 pick and have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds. Then take a QB, RB, 2 DL, CB, S in any order you want.....you would still have 6 more picks.

I'd take Allen from Bama at 2, that guy is a freak and an instant starter. We need DL help more than anything.

If for some goddamn reason we have the number two pick, I say trade back. Even if it means future number ones, trade back. Reading a ton of stuff on how Allen is the product of being around other NFL talent. We could totally rebuild on defense. Hell, the Texans have lived on that.

Put it this way....if he was the QB at NC State, and projected to come to the Skins I would say the same thing....at the time we picked Amerson, I was on another message board at the time, and I was the only one there saying we screwed up.....Amerson was burnt toast in the back half of his college career and when he came here he was burnt toast

Watson is easily my favorite QB in this draft class. I spend waaaayyy to much time with the draft stuff watching/charting film etc. I think Watson is a plus, plus version of Cousins and I think he could run this offense as a rookie.

That would be a heck of a draft.... except the 7th round picks, try RB or DB, there tend to be the positions where sleepers can be found.

1. Doesn't matter.Mason Foster, Compton contracts going into final year. Foster is a beast
2. Thomas is a freak and baller
3. Doesn't matter. Doctson is a question mark and Pryor is on a 1 year deal. WR is a big need and fournette is a top 10 pick. I don't think a rb out there is better than Ross...I think WR is just a big of need as RB.

Right now biggest needs roster wise: ILB, WR, DE, RB are our biggest needs...with CB and Guard on the next tier.

this is my semi realistic options at #17, obviously if a Jonathon Allen were to drop due to his shoulder I would break Jon Ross's 40 time running to the podium.

Listening to the information on the radio and in podcasts, I love the idea of Sidney Jones in the 3rd. He can redshirt behind Norman, Breeland and Fuller, then he is Breeland insurance.

The Redskins are looking everywhere for a NG including D3 Frostburg State. They met with Niles Scott a 305lb NG with 4.9 speed. And gaudy stats, albeit at the D3 level.

I think it's likely that we could see at least 2 off that list.
I'm surprised that they don't have Chris Wormley on that list though.

[I][U]PFF Scouting Report on him[/U]:

Name: T.J. Watt

School: Wisconsin

Position fit: Edge defender in either a 4-3 or a 3-4

Stats to know: Went from 12 pressures as a sophomore to 56 pressures as a junior.

What he does best:

Closes extremely well in space. Great ability to finish plays.
Plays violently versus run and pass. Attacks pullers and kick out blocks instead of waiting for them to come to him.
Has good initial pop despite slender build. Won’t get moved off line of scrimmage on contact.
Impressive agility for his height. Allows him to win in numerous ways versus the run.
Long arms well and has numerous pass rushing moves he can transition off a bull rush.
Above-average burst off the snap helped lead to 10 sacks, 16 QB hits and 30 hurries on 279 rushes.

Biggest concern:

Light for the position though with the frame to pack it on.
Much of his production came unblocked or versus tight ends.
Only one season of production. Played 661 snaps in 2016 after playing only 174 snaps in 2015.
When an offensive lineman gets into his body he’s done. Gets locked up too tight often and couldn’t get hands off.
Scheme at Wisconsin put him in a lot of favorable blitz situations.

Player comparison: Willie Young, Chicago Bears

Neither Young nor Watt is eye-poppingly athletic, but both have more than enough to get by. They both use their leverage well for their height and have enough agility to keep tackles honest. Young has had a strong overall career.

Bottom line: Adding 10 to 15 more pounds of muscle could transform Watt into one of the top edge prospects in this class. He’s already got a varied skillset that dominates tight ends, but fails to translate versus tackles nearly as often. Given the progress he made in one year at Wisconsin, it would not surprise to see Watt continue to improve as he moves to the NFL.[/I]

[U]Combine numbers[/U]: H 6'4" W 252 Arm 33" (long) Hand 11" (huge) Forty 4.69.

[U]Personal observations[/U]: I saw him play a few times. I was impressed by his motor and his versatility. He played inside as well as on the edge. Some scouts see him as either an edge rusher or an ILB. He seems to diagnose plays quickly and he is a sure tackler. Ranked 47th overall by PFF.
