Never watched The Sopranos start to finish, the first few seasons I watched it pretty regularly and then lost track of it[/quote] I'm just not good at watching long series, if you have to watch week to week, then wait for a new season. So I never saw The Sopranos either. One day, I will probably end of watching The Wire and The Sopranos in full in like a few weeks time. I don't think I will like GOT all that much. The last show I ever watched religiously from beginning to end was Justified. But that is my favorite non-comedy show of all times, so that was easy. So far I have kept up with Yellowstone. So that might make the list. |
Re: The "What are you watching right now" Thread
Yeah binging is the way to go.
Prior to watching the new season of Better Call Saul I had to watch a summary video on YT of everything that has happened until now, and now the 2nd half of this season won't be back until July. |

If you have not watched Season 4 of Stranger Things you are missing out, just all around excellent.

The Wire in particular is about as realistic as it gets - and you can't shoehorn it into one genre. S1 is about crime, S2 is about the docks, S3 is more crime, S4 is about education, and S5 is about the media. It basically shows how everything gets tied in together and why it's so hard to make meaningful change in cities. Anyways right now I'm watching the 4th season of Mayans which is about to wrap up next week - it's ok but I have plenty of beef with the writing. Waiting for BCS to come back in mid-July iirc - they really gave us a hell of a mid-season finale in the last episode. Debating whether to buy Hulu because I've seen a couple clips of a show called Mr. Inbetween which only ran 3 seasons - but the clips look good and it's got good reviews. My sister recommended watching Jack Reacher on Prime - she says its as good as the movies. Idk though - I watched that one clip somebody posted here a while back and it looked kinda dumb. |

I had Paramount+. Switched back to HBO Max again today. I have a big-time crush on Kaley Cuoco, so I watch her show The Flight Attendant. Season 2 is now available. I like the show so far (season 1), but that could be biased because of her. I'm going to make sure I watch The Wire before I cancel HBO Max again. I do have Amazon Prime. I haven't watched Jack Reacher. I also haven't watched Jack Ryan (even though I've had it saved in the my list section forever). Note - If you ever sign up for Paramount+, I recommend Mayor of Kingstown. I really liked that show. |

Hulu, Prime, and HBO Max is definitely sufficient at minimum. It's hard to pick what options to go with. They all have at least 1 show that looks good. Apple+ has a special series about dinosaurs that I would absolutely watch if it was on cable. You can cut cable but spend at least as much or more if you pay for lots of streaming services. |

New show on Hulu called The Bear. It’s fantastic

You don't have to suscribe to Apple to watch it either, it's free...if you have a smart tv or the apple tv app you can watch it. |

Really? Sweet, did not know you could watch it for free. I'll have to check it out. |

I could see how people can find him really annoying. I'm biased the other way because of his involvement with Seinfeld (my favorite show ever), so CYE cracks me up. |

I dunno, bit of a letdown. But I’ll keep watching this shit |

Saw the first episode of the new Jeffery Dahmer Netflix series…great work and nicely done.

Re: The "What are you watching right now" Thread
Signed up for Hulu to re-watch Justified. Finished that, but still have a free trial.
Watching Black Sails. Originally aired on Starz. Pretty good. I love period piece stuff. I could watch shows like this every day (if sports didn't exist). |
Re: The "What are you watching right now" Thread
Justified ... I gotta get into that. Heard good things. But really Im just a tarantino groupie and he liked it so now I want to watch it.
House of Dragon - going good Lord of the rings thing -- kinda fucking boring |

Last episode (ep 7) was really fucking good. Feels like the first 5 episodes were character/story backstory to set up to us getting into the actual story line. I feel connected to most characters, writers/directors did a good job of letting us know each characters motivation and internal conflicts. acting was/is really good. and shit is about to hit the fan |

Just started watching Always Sunny in Philadelphia from episode 1. Over 150 episodes. Gonna be a long journey.

Re: The "What are you watching right now" Thread
The Hulu free trial got me. It's almost like companies know what they're doing with those things. Now I'm paying for it. Paused ASIP to watch Wonder Years.
What is your favorite throwback show to watch that is no longer on the air on normal cable? |

The first 10-12 seasons are excellent. There was no joke that was off-limits. The last 3 seasons or so they've kinda gone woke (I hate using that term) and toned it down some. Like Mac - he's no longer this in-the-closet idiot using Christianity as an excuse for his homophobia - now he's just a gay idiot. And Charlie isn't this illiterate and insanely dumb character who does things like drink paint, he's just a dumb janitor. And Dennis used to be this sex-obsessed character with psychopathic tendencies, now he's just got an attitude problem. Enjoy the first 10 or so seasons because it really is hilarious, I watch clips on YT all the time. But the new seasons just aren't the same. |
