Its not a lack of awareness at all. The complete opposite.
Bruce Allen knows that if we end the season 1-15 or 2-14, he's likely getting fired. Allen's best chance to keep his job is for the team to get to 5-11 or 6-10 and use a bunch of excuses to convince Snyder that they really are still "close." To make that happen, Allen NEEDS all of these players on the roster. Allen is quite aware of the situation and is doing what is in his own best interest. Why would he trade players for future draft picks when his doing so would only make it much more likely that he gets fired? Why screw himself over to help out his successor? As a fan, that's what we want Allen to do because its whats best for the team. But whats best for the team is not whats best for Bruce Allen.
I haven't heard anything all year long about Bruce's job being in danger. As much as we all want him to go, i think there is a better chance of him being here next year, possibly beyond. People seem to underestimate how close Dan and Bruce are. Way closer than him and Vinny ever were. This has been reported. Maybe Dan wakes up and realizes how toxic Bruce really is, but I doubt it. I hope i'm wrong. Everyone hopes that Bruce gets fired, i just don't see it happening. |

Agreed. To Snyder, who by all appearances is not that bright, does not know how to manage or motivate people, nor has any amount of NFL knowledge, Bruce Allen, he believes, is going to get him into a new stadium. BA = new stadium in the future. BA will eventually be sacrificed to the enormous media and fan pressure of continuous terrible seasons. But it will take several 1-3 win seasons to fire Bruce. OK -- then time to sell, Danny. Maybe Kevin Durant and Matthew McConaughey can join forces to buy their favorite team. |
Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
Here's my master plan to get rid of Bruce Allen (which will never work):
- Fans reach out to Dale Jr. asking him to plead with Gibbs to talk to Snyder - Gibbs tells Snyder he should fire Allen (Snyder worships Gibbs) - Danny gets rid of BA #onecanonlydream |

Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
Bruce Allen will be fired when the media and fan pressure for Snyder to “do something” to repair the situation gets so high that this sacrifice must be made. That’s what happened to the last lackey, “yes man”, Vinny Cerrato. BA’s job is to be the front man so that Snyder can secretly make decisions about all aspects of the Redskins franchise. When BA is finally fired, he will be replaced by another toadie like Allen or Cerrato.
The unfortunate aspect of this teams location is that instead of there being 10,000 to 20,000 loyal fans showing up to each game - there are 20-50,000 opposing fans filling the seats every game. The NFL would demand action if the stadium was 75% empty every week. But it’s 50-70% full of fans, mostly from the opposition. So Snyder gets paid and the NFL doesn’t see an empty stadium. Also, Snyder paid $800 mill for the team twenty years ago and now it’s worth $3 billion. The only way this situation changes is if Snyder grows a brain or FINALLY gives control of the team to a GM AND a HC who are NFL trained and NFL smart. O’Connell is a long-shot possibility to be a decent HC but Bruce Allen must be replaced as the GM. BA is just far too incompetent and he also doesn’t understand his many limitations. He’s an anchor that’s sinking this ship. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

New coach doesn’t matter.
I would go for a well organized leader of men. We need a new GM.....is it possible to find a GM that can manage Dan Snyder? |

Have you ever considered maybe he's been effective in his role because there's literally no pressure on him? Personally, I’d like to see Kyle Smith in the GM ROLE. Give him full power. He has a great job drafting player even from the lower ranks.. Look at Harmon for one or Quinn for another. We need every draft pick to count- especially the first one. That #3 must a superstar player to ignite the defense or offense

The owner is the problem. You are right, this organization has had some good coaches but the owner wont let the coaches and football people do what they do best without meddling and undercutting them. It started with firing a proven coach in Marty Schottenheimer after one season to hire the flavor of the day, the Ol Ball Coach and has continued from there. |

Which players has Kyle Smith personally picked over the last two years? Last I heard picking players was a group effort, with Allen, Smith, Doug Williams, and Gruden all having input (up until this year when popular opinion is that Gruden was ousted from the group). |

He was the main source of player names. The Redskins have had two pretty successful drafts under that leadership in the last two years. Reward that success with a move up. I ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE he is better than that numbnut Bruce Allen. With the current owner Kyle Smith could get more autonomy than ever before, because Snyder knows him. The only way a talented, NFL-proven, HC comes here is if he gets far more power and autonomy than had been offered before. Unless this new HC is coming here JUST for the $$$MONEY, only, he must know the history and what the Snyder/Allen oversight has cost every single prior coach before him.
That may be the best course of action, getting a talented, NFL OC or DC , who INSISTS on massive autonomy to include removing Bruce Allen from his GM position and pushing Snyder out of his manipulations. Doubtful but we can still hope! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Who will be the next coach of the Redskins and does it even freakin matter?
It’s all up to Snyder: dump his buddy Bruce Allen and hire from the NFL talent pool of hot OC or DC’s.
OR hire from within the Redskins organization or hire some bizzaro-choice (e.g., like Jim Zorn - a QB coach) from way outside the decent choices so that he and BA can continue to play around and meddle while the team tanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
