Until either side truly implements budget restraint, neither side has standing about the issue. Certain members of the house and senate do, because they have been consistent. And minimum wage at 15 is truly minimum. The more empowering thing would be setting it to a yearly CoLA..

I just fell and hit my head. Of course a nice minimum wage sounds nice but it's simply not realistic if you care about small businesses. As you said, not all places are the same. You can't apply things like this nationally across a country as large as ours with such a wide diversity of living situations.

This like most things, this should be done at the state and local level. Love me some 10th amendment.

I would be open to other methods of improving the quality of life and purchasing power of these individuals. The 3 million job loss doesn't jive with the estimate released by the CBO but 3 million 1.4 million we would just be splitting hairs there. I just don't see how we can say 30K a year is too much especially with a broken food and health care system. IDK. People smarter and more handsome than I are working on it.

In general, and I can't reiterate this enough, in general, imo, democrats feel like government is good if the right people are in charge, and the more government (if the right people are in charge) the better off we all are.

Maybe my above opinion is wrong, but I think the opposite. Don't really care which side is in charge, I don't trust 99.99% of them. The more any government is in charge the worse off we are.

At least businesses are honest about trying to make as much money as possible. The more limited we can make all forms of government, the better.

Anything that rich people, or name the X group that benefits, is due to politicians getting rich off it too. Congress doesn't produce anything but they never ever leave unless voted out. We all know why. Regardless of what side they're on, they would never make anywhere near close to the salary + benefits, outside of congress. Hence why no one on either side brings up term limits, even tho 99% of voters on either side are agreeable.

I inherently think our government are the biggest rats out there. Both sides. What have they done for us? Trillions of dollars in debt, who knows how many Americans killed in needless wars, etc.

Fuck 'em.

Had this pandemic not happen I would have been fine with a gradual increase to the $15 min wage but with Small business's taking the hit of the Pandemic it's too much now for them to deal with . $7.25 is way too low.

National politics can be so weird. The last two republican Lt. Governors in Maryland have been African American and I am not aware of any such sentiment in state. Meanwhile I was seeing billboards in North Carolina that were proclaiming Biden to be a socialist when he is the furthest thing from a socialist by a mainstream politician. Maybe this fits your belief in more state autonomy.
