I disagree strongly. The far left isn’t exactly calling any shots. Trump, or the party of trump, or the far right - has the Republican party right in its pocket. The democratic party has not changed. Not anymore than normal incremental change. The republican party has completely hitched its wagon to one man. One man who lost the Whitehouse, Senate, and House like he lost umpteen million businesses. Good luck with that.

Not sure I agree. We were pretty shitty back in the day. Trump just brought it back but stuff like armed men patrolling poll sites was pretty common we just expect better in 2020 so we are shocked when people still act like that 200 years later

A very effective Governor but too associated with Trump imo which would hamper him in defeating the US remake/version of the Cultural Revolution.

I'd prefer a Tim Scott, Niki Haley or Marco Rubio. The fight right now in the Republican party is Reagan conservativism versus Trump populism. Those three would be better champions of the former.

It was meant to bring awareness and help all races etc feel recognized. The right, as they do, has spun it into something it is not. Black people for example face different issues than whites. So do gays. So do women. So do old people. So do poor people. But extreme right whites want to leave well enough alone because in their eyes the system is on their side.

It's always confused me why we try to classify homicides. Everything is all about race, sex, etc.. We will never change. It's 2021, and we all still justify, classify, etc. If you kill someone, outside of self defense, it's always fucking wrong. I think without politics, this would be 99% agreed upon.

Like if someone shoots my family member for no reason, I don't give 2 shits about the classification. I will hate that person, until hopefully I can forgive them.

Of course murder is murder. But murdering someone because they are jewish imo is worse than a scorned lover or a break in gone bad because it is even more senseless. Doesn’t make any murder ok. Lol. The conversation is about hate crime though.
If someone shoots your family member for no reason that is obviously awful but that person is going to kill someone regardless. Someone shoots your family member because of their race or religion than that would fall into the pre meditated murder category. They were targeted. It is by definition worse. If 2 strangers get drunk at a bar and shoot each other or gang members kill each other ... some personal decisions were made leading to the end result. Thats why the innocent baby killed by stray gun fire is so much more heartbreaking then some 16 year old with a long rap sheet.

A jewish or asian or black or white mom killed at the shopping mall for no reason other than they are jewish or white or black or asian .... it shocks the collective conscious of a community bc wed like to think if we avoid trouble, dont run our mouth, dont go out after midnight flexing our beer muscles, we should be free from consequences we didnt put ourselves into.

If a family cant walk down the street mid afternoon without getting targeted ... we need to pay special attention to that situation.

When we say "save the whales" we arent saying "dophins lives dont matter". We are saying we need to pay special attention to this problem bc this problem needs special attention.
