Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
I think with the way everything is falling, Mariota might actually find himself in a starting role.
The colts must have a plan to bring in another Big splash vet QB .. if not they won’t sniff a playoff next year .. and losing to JaX was a team effort and coaching .. sounds like Frank didn’t have his boys ready and needs to place blame on Wentz ..
They might be scouting the 2023 draft for QBs. They tanked for Luck. I'm sure they don't have a problem doing it again. |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
Sources: The #Bears are closing in on a trade of star pass-rusher Khalil Mack, sending him to the Los Angeles Chargers for prime draft pick compensation. @RapSheet The compensation The #Chargers are sending a 2nd rounder and a 6th rounder in 2023 for Mack. Massive. Wait, Khalil Mack is only worth a 2nd and 6th? Doesn't seem that massive to me. But the Chargers just got more ammo to go after Mahommes and Russ. |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
That division is going to be so insane lol
|
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Chargers gonna be back to losing in the playoffs regularly in no time.
They have a nice squad and a QB1. |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Wow he was worth two 1s a few years ago.
|
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
@RapSheet
#Texans QB Deshaun Watson will not face charges. His criminal matters are over. **Roger Goodell has entered the chat** |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Also:
@AlbertBreer The 22 lawsuits are still pending. But that a grand jury returned no criminal charges is a very significant development, and presumably a big step towards Texans trading him and Watson returning to the NFL. Interested teams are now more likely to come forward. |

Seattle and Philly have more trade ammo. Although now I hope he stays in the AFC. Given the less amicable relationship between Watson and the Texans, they may bend to his wishes. |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
There it is:
@bylindsayhjones The NFL's own investigation into the Watson allegations remains open. League investigators have spoken with at least 10 of the women who accused Watson of sexual misconduct, but have not yet spoken with Watson. @bylindsayhjones NFL discipline could come at the conclusion of the league's investigation --- and Goodell has suspended multiple players before absent criminal charges -- but for now we should not expect any changes to Watson's status. He is eligible to be traded, practice and, as of now, play. |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Do 3 first Wentz and CY for Watson
|
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Watson in court today like:

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
He was not willing to come here that why they moved so quick on Wentz I bet.
|
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Yea .. the last place Watson would wanna go to is a team with a scandal going on … He was never gonna play here ..
He said last yr that he wouldn't come to WAS... The pipedreams of us landing Wilson and Watson were just that.. Dreams
Exactly. Now we still have 1st and 2nd rounders also. Whoever gets Watson is going pay a gigantic king's ransom. I could even see 4 1st rd picks.

Yeah I had missed this but Keim reported he wouldn't waive his no trade clause for us... |
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
So he’s not going to be a felon. I still wouldn’t want him. Would cost a fortune and just because there aren’t criminal charges doesn’t mean there won’t be long, drawn out legal proceedings - not good for a team plagued by its own issues.

So Tom Brady is back.

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Apparently Tom Brady is going to play for free, since Tampa Bay has -$3 million of cap sapce.

Imagine being man that can tell Gisele Bündchen no to something (she's been wanting him to retire for a while now).
|
Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
I like to think the Glazers sat Brady down and told him how absolutely boned they'd be if he didn't come back.

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Business of Football Hall of Famer Kirk Cousins is staying in Minnesota.
@AdamSchefter Vikings gave Kirk Cousins a one-year, fully-guaranteed $35 million extension, per source. He will make $40 million this year and $30 million next. Deal has two voidable years in it to lower his cap number this year to $31.25M. $15M of deal will be paid by this time next year. Also, Kirk Cousins' agent is probably the best one ever. Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
He didn't even have a goodbye tour, I think he wanted to leave TB but realized they would not trade him.
Arians was asked the other day and he said "We will not trade TB" |

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Texans’ QB Deshaun Watson is expected to meet in the next 48 hours with the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints, amongst other teams, per league sources. Watson wants to meet with them just as they want to meet with him before trade talks ramp up.

Re: Around the NFL 2022: Offseason edition
Rumors: A #Browns trade for Deshaun Watson would likely have to include multiple first round draft picks, QB Baker Mayfield, and possibly other players, says

@MaryKayCabot
Would love to have Watson stay in the AFC. Houston is perhaps in such a rebuilding mode that they may not care to trading him to another AFC team (like Detroit when they traded Stafford). |
