Given the financial state of the team, I'm rooting for Bezos to buy the team. I feel like he can just write a check to deal with some immediate problems.

I do like what Josh Harris has done with the 76ers though.

I think a lot of fans feel the same way. I'm just glad that it seems like it's going to happen, and I would be REALLY happy if the new owner did a "re-brand" after this season. I feel like as long as I hear "commanders"...it's always going to be a reminder of Snyder. Maybe the Rales/Harris guys having lived in DC are familiar with what Snyder has done to the franchise and would realize the fans would want a new name and look that leaned more to the past...but maybe that's a small percentage of us.

I agree. Whoever buys the team should rebrand. There were a lot of options suggested by the fans. Sentinels & Redwolves/Wolves were my favorites.

Let's hope the timeline is narrowing and this deal gets done in the next 2 weeks. I believe it's possible, maybe even probable, and that is amazing to me. My bet is on Bezos at this point, but I would be happy with either Bezos or the dual team of Rales/Harris. I see the Rales/Harris news as one last effort by Snyder to ratchet up the sales price, more than an actual new entry into it. That is just his MO.

Whatever the outcome, I think we won't know for a few years if the grass will be greener, or just less of a shitty brown color.

I don't like soccer at all (unless it's the World Cup), but I like original names. I could get down with Washington FC. I even liked Washington Football Team (definitely better than Commanders).

I don't know about "can't see" the name staying, rebranding a multi billions $ company isn't something you decide lightly, but I'd say the new owner wanting to be the cool new guy in town, wanting to please the fanbase, and not wanting to keep a name obviously picked by Snyder and that nobody has really had the time to get any sort of attachment to, isn't unlikely at all!

While I still don't see a problem with Redskins I do think the Washington FC was a good alternative. Keep the same uni's. I did like the yellow helmet in the old days .

I understand but there has been such discussion about it that it's understandable . First, IMPO if I'm the new owner I bump RR upstairs and make EB your HC. Second I work with DC and start the process for a new stadium. I just think that a new name a new Owner signals a new beginning .

IMO these should be the new owner's priorities:

1. Assessing the finances of the team (aka cleaning Snyder's mess)
2. Stadium
3. Coaching/FO assessment (after this upcoming season ends)

Finances are part of the reason this team has sucked. Snyder has been gutting this team for money, and you see that affecting a lot of things. I'd rather that be the focus of the new owner, as opposed to tinkering with something that is irrelevant and largely being driven by delusional fans that think we're bringing the old name back.

Nothing is going to change in terms of coaches and front office this year, but that should be another priority as the season progresses.

Finally, the NFL wants this team to have a new stadium, so there will be pressure from the league and other owners to make that a priority.

I like the new helmets, that has made it much easier for me personally to accept Commanders. I don't love it, but I'm indifferent to it now, which is a massive improvement over where I started with this name.

Just don't see the name being changed what, 3 times, in 4 years? Don't even think the NFL would allow it. Also, Snyder will only have owned the team 1 year with that name, so I think the new owner(s) can still stamp it with his/their own track record.

Blah blah... they just signed Payne to 90 million and Allen to a huge contract. They bought Wentz in for 30 million. They're paying a 3rd WR a ton. Resigned McLaurin. Dan using the team as his piggy bank sure hasn't stopped them from paying guys.
