No you don't have to take one of 'em. There's nothing written where you have to take either of them. I'm not a fan of Williams and think Maye would be someone who's over drafted at #4. You don't know if a QB will be a franchise player no more than I know an OT will be one. But I'll wager the latter would be one before the former. Even more so considering I'm not exactly sold on either of the mentioned QBs.

The "franchise player" or better pick at #4 would be an OT. A likely anchor on the line who'll be with us for 10 or more years.

Would not be entirely a bad idea. I actually tend to agree with it. Let JB come back. Strengthen the team around him. Find a quarterback elsewhere or in next years draft. A QB should not be taken if he is just going to get killed.

Hey remember the last 20 plus years how we've had elite LT for the majority of that and did nothing with it? Now in that same timeframe you see how we've had a game changing offensive player for 1 year? QB will always be more important than LT when both are equal.

Exactly. You can find a good LT in later rounds , Trent Williams made us all spoiled but how many rings does he have?? Zero so far and he’s 34.

In the NFL you need a top 10 QB consistently to be good every yr. We have never had that and you have to keep trying until you find one.

Caleb Williams is compared to Mahomes , Aaron Rodgers level.

Drake Maye is being compared to the likes of Justin Herbert and Carson Palmer.

They both are good with big time ceilings.

Will they both end up Great? You don’t know but you can’t pass that potential up.

I hope whoever the GM is decides to keep Howell. Payton Manning had an even worse rookie season. And this is only Howell's first season starting.....the pieces need to be added around him

Jordan Mailata- 7th round
Dion Dawkins- 2nd round
David Bakhtiari- 4th round
Trent Brown- 7th round
Donovan Smith- 2nd round

You do not have to draft a LT in the top 5 left alone first round, however theres only been like 5 SBs since 2000 that didnt feature a first round QB at all, and 3 of those were in the early 2000s, and all of those featured Tom Brady. If you want to win a SB youre more likely to with a 1st round QB vs any other round

Please do not compare Sam Howell to arguably the best QB prospect ever. Sam Howell hasn't shown the command of the offense that even a rookie Peyton showed

I guarantee they are both gone by pick 4. Jayden Daniels, Michael Penix Jr are the next two in the order of prospects if you go QB.

If I am being completely honest, I'd take Marvin Harrison Jr. if available at 4 before I took the LT. Id turn right around and take either Mims of Fontunau in the 2nd with one of the two second rounders

AZ is taking Harrison at 3 , they literally have no WRs.

The Bears may not take a QB now, Fields has been pretty good as of late

The good thing is Howell is on a 5th round contract. He is here. Let the new staff come in, evaluate, bring in a top draft pick or a seasoned vet and then see how it goes. QB is not the thing this team needs at 3 or 4, but if they take one I just hope it's the right one.

So much is riding on the first few weeks after the season ends. I hope Harris and the crew are finalizing their plans. I definitely want to believe they are.
