Luck is the last college QB that I would have bet the farm on. If that player shows up, I say bet the farm. |
I think Daniels is going to be a way better passer than Jackson and not as lethal of a runner as LJ but still a good one. You can't coach what this kid can bring to the table. His speed, quick release, and accuracy are elite. His release is significantly quicker than Maye's which is one reason I prefer him to be the pick.
JD5 has as quick of a release as we've seen since AROD.. The ball flies off his hand. Thats a huge plus to have on top of his accuracy and quickness. Maye is more like Herbert, longer release but cannon arm. Its a toss up but I'm still hoping JD is the pick |
Re: QB Prospects Thread
Three weeks from today we will know who our potential franchise QB is.
Exciting times! |

1. Daniels 2. McCarthy |

We got some quality options. My best guess is outside of Caleb…it’s between Daniels or Penix. I think for Peters it’s between JJ and Daniels. |
Re: QB Prospects Thread
If you could tell me Penix would play through his rookie contract with a guarantee his knees/shoulders won't get injured, I would say he should be a Top 5 pick.

Want: a franchise qb who leads the team for the next 10+ years to multiple playoffs and SB appearances
Reality: Washington continues it's forever qb challenge, either by picking wrong, or injury ends potential franchise qb career in the last home game at the former FedEx field Some suffer from PDSD (Post Dan Snyder Disorder) I suffer from QB Anxiety Attacks also: Want - Penix and a boatload of picks don't want - Maye / McCarthy Reality - Daniels Also Reality - Whoever this guru team of QB whisperers choose, I will be watching those same YouTube vids as SDskins |

"The best ability is availability" - Parcells
He was fully available for the last 2 years. Clearly recovered relatively quickly from potential career ending injuries. |
Re: QB Prospects Thread
I’ll say this, Caleb Williams is far from a sure thing and the Chicago org…if he and that team comes out flat it’s over for the coach. It could be another reset in for the Bears.
That org has underperformed given the decent roster the last several years |

Things the father of JJ has said about the Commanders and their meetings. And either Standig/Keim said based on talking to some folks around the league, JJ would be the type of QB the San Fran/Peters would like. Winner. And even though JJ wasn’t asked to do a lot, when Michigan would need the QB to make a play, he would without a problem. Nothing was too big for JJ |

Re: QB Prospects Thread
The QB prospects in this draft are nice and there are more than usual.
However none of that means squat if they are not playing in front of a capable O-Line that can generate a running game and pass protect. Seeing teams like Detroit, Ravens and 49'ers offensive lines play physical football is refreshing compared to all of the pass happy crap now a days. After Shanahan was canned we became a soft pussy offense. I'm tired of that shit. We need to punch defenses in the mouth. We need balance in our attack. |

While I like B Rob, I would continue to invest at RB. Someone who hits the hole and goes. |
Re: QB Prospects Thread
There is a deep group of good tackles and guards coming out. No reason we shouldn’t walk away without Daniels (hopefully) and two olineman after day two.

I agree. My prediction is QB at #2 (obviously), then OL x 2, Edge, DB, and WR in the first three rounds...not necessarily in that order. |
Re: QB Prospects Thread
Time to go to Overthinkers Anonymous guys. The pick is Jayden and it’s not close.

Yup. Almost all my mocks follow that formula. I put Corner almost as important as one of the oline. Jayden Tackle Corner G/T Edge/WR That is my needs order but BPA can change that a little after we take our qb. You almost have to take a Tackle with the second pick. If a guy like Wiggins is there at 36 though it would be something to think about. Then you may have to consider trading back up to assure a tackle like Morgan or Kingsley. Re: QB Prospects Thread
Don’t forget we need a ballhawk FS desperately. It will be interesting to see how BPA aligns with major needs in the first 3 to 4 rounds. Can’t wait.

Why not just move that magnificent ballhawk that Rivera drafted in the first round last year to safety. Not only can he get turnovers but he can use his 165 pound frame to come up and punish ball carriers. Or we could try to sign Simmons in FA instead. |
Re: QB Prospects Thread

we don't though. Most important things are 1) QB, 2) LT,CB#1 we could use a RT too, and i'd take those before looking at FS (I'd probably consider TE/WR beforehand too). |

FS is needed but I got it fifth on the list. Two Tackles, Corner, and obviously QB. I got FS above TE WR and Edge. That is just needs. Once we get past qb and a LT it could obviously change if bpa is obvious. |

Exactly the point of one year signings. Allows us to build through the draft and if one of them balls out extend them. |
Re: QB Prospects Thread
yeah, we got non-superstar DEs that are probably good enough for now. I'm not against getting someone, but we got a clear 1,2,3 for needs and if we go QB/LT, it's possible any CB we get after that is just another #2 CB. You can always get lucky, someone can always step up, but we'll probably still have a couple spots that are less than ideal going into the season. We'll still be better off (than last year) and in a good position going forward.
|
Re: QB Prospects Thread
Hopefully the spots that we have grown to consider very weak..... hopefully.... a new coaching staff will elevate that level of play if even a little bit? Would be clutch and help this team a long way.
Ie: Forbes. |

So the latest QB Draft rumor is JD5 would prefer to play with the raiders because of his relationship with AP…
Apparently he went on Instagram Live last night and said he would love to play there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Apparently he went on Instagram Live last night and said he would love to play there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He was probably being diplomatic. Top prospects tend to avoid alienating any team's fanbase prior to the draft because the players are well-aware that they have no control over which team might draft them. |

A true number 2 corner is better than BSF for sure and maybe Forbes too based on what we saw from him. Ill take two number 2 corners vs 2 guys who have no business being on the field. BSJ was an absolute train wreck last year. QB, T, CB who is serviceable with a chance to be a 1. Lassiter or Tampa with the number 40 pick possibly. |

I Balme a lot on coaching tbh. We saw it first hand the awful positions and match ups these guys were put in. Still a 50/50 shot prolly but I expect more out of both players. More discipline, better scheme and positioning as well. |
Re: QB Prospects Thread
I know it's super unlikely that we trade out of #2, but I still want to commend the front office for making Daniels, Maye and McCarthy all appear as QBs we are targeting. Why? Because if even one team has its heart set on a specific QB, like when San Francisco wanted Trey Lance, they're going to have to at least consider making a trade offer we can't resist.
