Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Waking up to hear we had a deal but Trent backed out?
It’s obvious now, he is trying to force a release.
Fuck him. Let him sit out the year and see how many teams will offer guaranteed money to an injury-prone tackle who hasn't played in 2 years. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
RR isn't going to release him. If TW doesn't take the next trade offer, doesn't accept a new deal here (most unlikely) and then holds out, I wouldn't be surprised if RR takes the same line as Allen in the end and say "you want to f* with my situation, I'll f* with yours" then transition tag him (assuming there's no better benefit to applying it to another player at that time; if so cut him and have done). He could be looking at being 34 having held out for effectively 3 years by then and likely have to retire having missed out on c. $30M. And quite possibly miss out on any HoF chance.
Surely he has to see that the best case scenario is taking the next offer from whoever that is and moving on? Worst case is he destroys his legacy.
I think for many he has already done that. |

Now he denies he nixed the trade, AB #2. Fuck him again!!

We wont get any trade partners, so fuck it....let him sit and not get paid. The skins still hold 100% of the leverage here. I'm beginning to think he is ok with riding this thing out and possibly retiring when it's all said and done. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Basically what happened is all the teams that needed a tackle said no thanks. They all decided to take rookies and not deal with Trent, his bullshit and contract demands. I had a feeling this would happen. The only way he gets moved is if someone has a tackle go down during camp.

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
I’m coming around to the notion of letting him sit, rot out the rest of his career and not get paid. He’s not helped us get any value and is only making the situation worse. Was one of my favorite players too. I can’t see how this ends well for anyone.
Oh, and fuck you Bruce Allen. You rat faced shitbag. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Or retires, like Joe Staley from the 49ers. Both the 49ers and Rams have connection to TW. Rather have McVay get him, Whitworth is old. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Trent needs to come back, play hard for a year, he gets FA and we get a back end of the 5th round pick.

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
I’m having a tough time believing he killed the Vikings deal. I mean how many teams, a.) have the cap space and b.:want to pay him that much money?
Does he really want to be traded or not? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
He wants the $$, The skins should just offer him a 2 year deal and move on.. Ron could convince him to stay

All this childish bullshit because Rivera contacted Olsen before TW. Weak ass excuse and childish. TW grow a pair. |

Meh. At this point he is a locker room cancer, and will for sure have influence in the dressing room. I say move on. Great player or not. I'm emotionally exhausted over the whole situation. And let's not gloss over the fact that he has missed a bunch of games in his last couple years played. Hes no spring chicken. I really hate this new mentality among players that if they dont like the contracts that they agreed to, they try and hold the team hostage to pay them more. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Williams has been traded to 49ers per Schefter.
