My fault eh. I willingly accept the burden of responsibility. What's next do I have to accecpt the blame for EVE eating the forbidden fruit too. Woman gimme back my rib!
Actually you should bear the responsibility for the downfall of mankind. Eve was deceived, but Adam ate the fruit willingly and then tried to blame it on her. Well, technically he blamed God. "The woman you gave to me." The bigger question is why God allowed the serpent in the garden to begin with. Hmmm... |

Remember that Sin was not brought into the world until Adam ate it. Just another case of love being blind. See men are always getting screwed putting women on a pedastool. He knew what was going to happen all along, He planned it that way. |

Just imagine if they were naive how stupid are we after generations of pre Moses incest. LOL. Just a joke. |
Re: The Never Ending Thread
I've always had an issue as to why God chose to increase our pain when giving birth as our punishment. I mean, we have to put up with you guys, isn't that punishment enough?

LOL... nice try. During labor is when a woman comes closest to death. No comparison there buddy. |

If a man loses his manhood he is dead, so yes it is a valid comparison. |

Re: The Never Ending Thread
LOL...interesting to read the arguments.
God is all knowing, so he clearly knew what he was doing punishing you for eating the apple. It was your fault that man fell, so you should get the bigger punishment. :D ps- getting hit in marbles HAS to hurt more than childbirth, it just doesn't last as long. When you have a contraction, you don't close your legs in pain, yet it's the only thing that can take any man completely down...hit hard enough, it can hurt so much that we throw up...and complete paralyzes us albeit breifly. |
Who said it was an apple?
Well, technically the bible says "fruit of the tree". But it is commonly accepted as an apple, and I believe it was called an apple in several different translations, so that's why it is commonly accepted as apple. FYI- The NIV (the most common version of the bible now a days) does say fruit of the tree. |

They were both punished. End of story. We could debate forever who was the biggest screwup. You will never convince me that a swift kick in the nads is more painful than childbirth. I've never known a man to die from it either, but I do know of women who have died giving birth, my great grandmother being one of them. |

The New American Standard is the most accurate English translation, but it can be hard to follow. I like more contemporary versions (New Living Translation). I tried reading "The Message" but didn't like format of it. Plus, some of the language the author uses is lame. It sounds like some old guy trying to be hip and it comes off corny. As far as Adam ratting on Eve, he should have. That is a prime example of a man not accepting the responsibility of being the spiritual leader of his household. |

I agree about The Message as well. It's way over the top in some of the word choices. It makes me cringe a little. I think trying to compete with the KJV is utterly futile. I use the NASB because, as you said, it is the most accurate. |

Yup...and our punishment has lasted for life of man and exists everyday! LOL. We were stupid to allow you to decieve us, and we still allow it to this day.
You will never convince me that a swift kick in the nads is more painful than childbirth. I've never known a man to die from it either, but I do know of women who have died giving birth, my great grandmother being one of them.
Women don't die from pain in childbirth...they die from childbirth when complications arise such as bleeding issues, or stroke from high blood pressure (ie: pre ecclampsia / ecclampsia). We were referring to pain factors. I know I can't convince you of that, but from having similar injuries to female friends of mine (shattered ankle, broken bones etc) and them saying that pregnancy was easier on the pain meter, I can only assume that child birth is not as painful (not that it's not painful...clearly it is very painful) it's just not the MOST painful pain a woman can experience. Seeing is I would rather break a bone than get a swift kick to the nutts, and knowing the male obsession with protecting that area, I can only assume that it does indeed hurt more...but again, for a shorter period of time. However, I did know a guy that got kicked in the nutts in H.S. and one burst. (I'm cringing right now FYI) He could not move and literally had to be put on a stretcher (he couldn't get on it himself) and taken to the hospital where they had to remove it. He was in constant pain for a full 36 hours before that familiar nutt pain went away. That is an unusual scenario, but this guy had gotten in motorcycle accident about year before that and tore off skin and broke bones, and he said on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the worst, that pain from getting kicked in the nutts was a 21. He couldn't stop crying the pain was so harsh. |

Just an FYI LB, I am 100% glad it's you women that have to endure childbirth...I wouldn't want to do it, and I have a lot of respect for those of you that get through it naturally.

Protect the woman? LOL. When God asked Adam if he had eaten from the tree Adam replied, "It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit and I ate it." Eve then blamed the snake. They were all a bunch of whiners IMO. ;) |

Nothing much. Other than spending today defending all of womankind, it's been pretty uneventful. |

I am up to my neck in class work. I havent played a game of naked twister in over a week and a half. My non gender specific neither region is burning from all of them jalapenos that I ate earlier, and I am at work. Other than that I am fine. My wifes cousins in CO. are in the following lines of work. Ironic yes, bullshit no! Brokerage Firm (Not sure what his role is yet), Real-Estate (they buy, sell and rent out), and a small carry out pizza place (they own it). The Real Estate semi tycoon is married to the Broker guy and the Restaraunt owners are married to each other. If you are interested let me know. Like I said, they are in Breckinridge which is a couple of hours from Denver. |

I've actually considered going after a real estate license...I really enjoy helping people find houses, and I will go with them when they view and negotiate...I do it all the time here, and my wife and I will "just for the fun of it" go to open houses on our off time just to see what is around and for how much. I don't know how helpful i would be to a brokerage firm. FYI- I had enough of the food service industry. |

Yeah, I tried. I pulled an allnighter comming up with that. Seriously though that is the truth. Just between you and the rest of us here. I honestly do not like hearing statements like "Thanks for your service ect." The best way to thank me is to just be polite and extend non verbal respect. I cannot stand people kissing my ass. That is just me though. There are others that eat it up, but not me. |
