This trend of people posting receipts and complaining about the prices of things, after they've already paid for it. For example, saw a post the other day of someone who ate at Five Guys and was complaining about the price. Anyone who's been there knows their menu and prices are posted very clearly at the register. Is it expensive for burgers and fries? Well it's not cheap, but spare me with the victim routine. You can easily turn around and walk out the door and eat somewhere else.

Or another tweet where someone posted their receipt from ordering room service in a hotel in NYC. You'll always pay a premium for room service in general, but in NYC? Of course it's going to be ridiculously expensive. Get the F outta here

Tipping in general has become frustrating.

I got some chinese take-out recently and the lowest default tip option was 15%. 15% just to pack up my order? I think 10% max is perfectly appropriate for getting take-out.

Preach.

It makes me feel guilty when I don't tip on a takeout order, but on the flip side the argument is "why don't you just pay your employees better?"

Tipping on a takeout order is just subsidizing a business who doesn't want to pay their employees proper wages.

I just had a Domino's open 20 feet from me and they do not have tipping. It's not an option paying online or in the store. And there is no tip bucket. I was shocked when I saw that.

i have bartended and waited tables; if you work in a good busy restaurant you can make bank; i will gladly take the tips

once you have the mindset you are a salesman and the menu is your product the money will follow ; its no different then making commission on a car sale

what pisses me off is when someone wants 20% on a take out order who gets paid a non-tipping wage; if you are a professional waiter its a legit difficult job to time courses, knowledge of your menu etc...you are being paid (tip) to create an experience; fucking handing me a bag of take out food that the really labor was in the kitchen preparing that food doesn't not deserve an additional fee(tip)

even if you work at a chain restaurant and they put you on take out they up your wage for that shift

I promise you if you walked into Ruth Chris or say even Sweetwater Tavern and told the wait staff hey we are going to start paying you a wage and nix tipping there be an uproar. The tipping in restaurants was to make your waitstaff salesmen; the more they sale the more the restaurant makes and the more the server makes. A waiter is no different then a car salesman.

They are always free to leave and work somewhere else.

I rarely tip on takeout unless it’s a big order.

exactly

i am annoyed with tipping full wage employees

if you are working at say a Chinese take out with no table service you are getting minim wage at the least

if you are a waiter at restaurant you are getting like $5 or less an hour plus tips; its a commission base job no different then car salesmen or realtor

you know a job that no one is up in arms about but is basically commission; auto mechanic, no work no pay and the sales people are the service advisors

HOA's.

I live in 1 condo, but I have 2 HOA accounts. 1 for the monthly assessment and 1 for the hidden extra monthly assessment that they collect once a year.

Last year, the hidden one was billed on May 1st. This year, somehow billed and due on April 1st lol. So now, I'm late on this assessment I had no idea was actually due in April. Because why the fuck would I assume it was due? I guess they don't "raise" the amount due every year, they just make it due 1 month earlier each year, and hope no one notices this is raising the rates.

There are more issues too, but that's a good summary.

Job searches.

I'm bored and want to try something different.

Internet job descriptions make every job sound like you have to be a Mensa member. Then the pay is like $16/hour. How do people get jobs or date anymore? Our current age sucks.

The worst haha. Or they look at you like "well you're the impatient one, if you're in such a hurry go in front of me" like I'm not just trying to time it so I can go after you're done proceeding with the right turn. So annoying.

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?

Speaking of things that annoy me...

Back in March headed to work, 5:15 in the morning. I'm speeding, doing 55 in a 45. Run up on a group of cars doing the limit, the head car is a black unmarked Utility Interceptor. I slow down in the right hand lane, everybody knows you don't pass a cop doing exactly the speed limit, after about a mile he brakes hard and jumps in behind me, obviously annoyed he won't get me for speeding. My rear license plate the paint is peeling so I need to order new plates (I was trying to figure out a cool phrase for custom plates) and that's why they hadn't been ordered yet. He writes me a ticket for improperly mounted plates and my day goes on.

I thought about paying it but thought nah fuck that, I'm gonna fight it. He made a couple clerical errors on the citation, listed my race as black (I'm white) and my car as a Honda MUL (w/e the fuck that is) - I drive a Civic. So I go to court yesterday gearing up to fight the charge.

Judge: Can you prove to the officer you got it handled?

Me: Yes sir (have my new registration w/ updated tag on it)

Try to give the officer my registration, he gives me a dumb look like "wtf is going on"

Judge: Where's the car now?

Me: in the parking garage

Judge: I could ask you to go out to the garage and take a picture as proof, but we don't have a lot of time.

Judge swears me in.

Judge: Did you get it handled?

Me: Yes sir

Judge: Dismissed

So annoying that I have to take time off work just for that. Sometimes cops can be such petty little bitches.

LOL, with you. Was going NC last Feb. I left after work and it's a 6 hour ride. I get on RT 70 in NC , speed limit is 70mph, after a while I get onto RT 17, speed limit still 70mph and I will admit to about 5 over but no more. About 2/3 miles down speed limit sign says 60mph(no warning just boom there it was). Now right across from that sign were two local (Onslow)county Police in a ditch waiting. I knew I had gotten nailed so I was already pulled over with Insurance , and everything before he even got his lights on. He was almost as young as my grandson, very polite and gave a speech about Deer. I asked him if he thought it was fair to trap like he did , "just following orders" so I got the ticket 15 miles over the limit and left, that was a Friday, home on Monday and I have 15 letters from NC Lawyers wanting represent me there(WTF). I went back down a month later for the hearing, defending myself. Judge (a Women) ask how do I plead, not guilty I said , she looks at me and ask what happen , I told her I had no opportunity to slow down and how fast I had stopped and pulled over, so I explained what happen she looks at the Cop and asked if this was true, he was at a loss and said yes(she was not happy). I was free to go but like you I lost a day from work and the time and money to go back to NC.

Peeling plates are a thing in NY too, had to replace mine recently. Thought it was BS I had to pay for new ones, but the process to make a claim for the peeling was so cumbersome I couldn’t be bothered.
