Re: Are 21 and 31 over-rated?
I regret having gone back to this thread. Playing the race card when talking about Vick is arguably the dumbest recurring theme we've had on this board the past couple of years.

Re: Are 21 and 31 over-rated?
How can anyone think Sean Taylor is over rated? Sean Taylor does a good job in coverage, but our CB's are NOT doing their jobs forcing Taylor to be everywhere. It doesn't matter how good you are, it's a team sport. Everyone needs everyone to play well or it just won't work right.
Sean Taylor is the best safety in the league, bar none. |
Re: Are 21 and 31 over-rated?
resounding yes to both, though I love sean taylors ability to cause fumbles, he gets burned far to often in coverage for someone of his quality. I'm hoping things improve with springs back...its no big deal about rogers broken thumb...maybe the extra padding will make him better...not like he could catch the ball anyway.
Williams is without a doubt one of the most overrated players in the game, right up there with Vick.
Taylor is a more complete package than Williams, and I'm not just being a homer.
If you have the nuts to say Vick is overrated then have the nuts to say that, he's playing like this years MVP and now we know he can throw, what you gone do, now.....state he's speed is overrated, his agility is overrated..........whats next.......his feet is overrated..., as I figured, you all here to tear him down, but no love for standing in the pocket and playing the (traditional way) :vomit:, if he keep playing at this rate....there be no more positions left....for yall to brag aboout.... |
Re: Are 21 and 31 over-rated?
Vick has been overrated until this year. Even at the start of this year he wasn't a great QB. He had the worst completion rate on deep passes until just a couple of weeks ago. He's gotten better as a QB this year (thanks to Bill Musgrave!) but it doesn't take away from the fact that he's been overrated.

you mean he wasn't a white QB, I dont have to play the race, because most of yall racism show on this site,.....to be honest what you white boys want to say is Vick dont play like the White QB in the league, but he don't have to, because this is the last position in the league, that your desperatly holding on too.......so hold long as you can.....it happen in basketball, it happen in every other postion on the field of football, it happen in golf, no black athlete should have to keep proven his worth, because if you run a 3-4 defense, you can beat the hell out of your hero Manning....because, he get's daised and confused..... its just like saying Babe Ruth is the greatest baseball player of all time......of alltime when all whiteboys was allowed to play the game....yea, but when they played the negro league...they got there ass.....whooped......, anyone understand that word......ASS and Whooped.....so funny to me...... be honest, Vick is changing the game of football, like, Texas Western did when they beat Kentucky......when 5 black atheletes beat the all white squad....so dont give me the bullshit anymore about, race, because....that what this world is full of..........racist bastards, who try to pretend that there not.......when they are........talent is talent, i can say, the truths about sports, 5 white boys will never start in a NBA game again in life and there will never be a white running back in the league that is a probowler and there is no such thing as a white cornerback in the NFL all of this is true, not racist, the racist thing is when you try to compare Vick to Manning or Brady......those are great QB's, but Vick can become a better passer, can they become better atheletes..........Hell No!!!!! |

What the hell are you talking about? Why do you have to drag race into it every time. This is why people think you're one of the worst members on this board. Because you're an idiot. Not a black idiot. Just an idiot. Yeah I know, I shouldn't make a personal attack and I apologize for it. But you keep calling everyone racist, and for no reason at all. Vick is compared to Manning and Brady because they're all QBs in the NFL. You know I don't want to uneccesarily drag Saden into this, but why can't you be more like him. He doesn't belittle real racial issues by pulling that card into every argument. I think I speak for a lot of people here when I say it's extremely offensive for you to collectively accuse us of racism anytime we disagree with you. Oh and FYI, I'm not white. |
Re: Are 21 and 31 over-rated?
BMF21,
For a guy who sees racism everywhere, it's amazing that you can't see the racism in your own statements. By the way, just like TAFKAS, I'm not a white boy either. So, before you start accusing everyone of being a racist white boy, do a little homework. |
Re: Are 21 and 31 over-rated?
Well, I am a white boy, and I still think BMF21 is an idiot.

You're comparing that, which I think everyone would agree was completely inappropriate, to us saying Vick is overrated? What about everyone saying bench Brunell, and start Campbell? Explain the racism there. |

Stating your opinion is one thing. Making a blanket accusation that we're all racist is completely different |
Re: Are 21 and 31 over-rated?
first I just want to say that this is not to compare Taylor to Williams.
With that said, I think those two players are over-rated. The media and fans have gotten into their heads and made them think HARDEST HIT = WIN. I see that both players get burnned, and when you are somone of Taylor's and Williams talent it shouldn't happen to you that badly. I mean the game against the Jaguars Taylor put a vicious hit on the receiver but the guy still held on to the ball for a TD. In the game against the Eagles Williams gave up two huge plays because he is looking for the big hit. My question then, are they really over-rated or are they playing the wrong positions?
I've been a supporter of moving Taylor to SS in which case getting Adam was a bad move. To me, Taylor is almost a LB and like Chicago converting Erlacker (sp), we should at a min. move Taylor to SS where he can lay the wood. Take Vincent if he has the speed, or Rogers if Knight starts or Knight is Rogers starts, and move them to FS. CB - Spring CB - Roger/Knight SS - Taylor FS - Knight/Rogers Then you have Ruff, and Vincent for dime and nickel packages. DE-Wynn - Carter on 3rd or rushing downs DT-Grif DT-Salava DE-Daniels LB - Marcus LB - Marshall LB - McIntosh/Campbell You could even line up Taylor as an LB and bring in Adam on all out blitz packages. Offenses would be freaked seeing that line up. This defensive line up feels a lot better to me then what we have seen. |
Re: Are 21 and 31 over-rated?
Tafkas is right. Lets be real,Vick has been overrated. Real talk!
