Agreed. Too bad you won't hear this too much this week. Man, what are JC haters going to do this week? LOL.
Yeah cuz one half of a preseason game makes up for a mediocre career, but in all seriousness he did look good yesterday. I was real happy to see Malcolm Kelly shine.
Not sure really, i just like the word penultimate, sounds cool :cool-smil
Ok, penultimate means the one before the ultimate (the penultimate lap is the next to last lap) and IMO Peyton Manning is the ultimate game manager not the penultimate.

I hope JC has a great year, but he still has to be consistent. I was pretty negative about him last week. Maybe he's getting Zorn's system down pat now. That interception that Colt threw at the goalline kind of messed things up, but I like both Brennan and Daniel. I'd hate to be the one deciding which one to cut I also like Collins as the #2 QB because of his experience. Marko is my man!
Yeah man nevermind the long return allowed by the ST that let them start in fg range and the constant flags drawn by the backup Oline that killed drives. The FG had the distance but was wide. Its ALL Colts fault. Not sayin he was stellar but to blame the loss all on him is pretty harsh. How many penalty yards were there? how many return yards were given up? Zorn seemed pleased with his play except for the int.
If I'm correct that int he threw (3rd one in three games and I believe the second in the red zone) was a 14 point swing or atleast a 10 point swing so yes Colt lost the game.
Yeah I'm going to open this can of worms... Let's give it up for JC. Dude showed me tonight that he can flat out play.
just getting back into country and catching up on last 2 games. After watching 2nd game first it sure was a relief to see JC pick it up in the 3rd game.I thought he had some great throws, some almost great throws and made good descisions, makes me more optimistic going into the season.
But Matty,I gotta call you out on that statement,I think you had been drinking and giddy from JC playing so well:laughing2
If your going to say" Dude showed me tonight that he can flat out play"after a preseason game, how would that be different than me or someone else saying"after his first 2 preseason games,"Dude showed me he aint worth a crap"?
jason had a good game and redskin nation is thankful and feeling a lot better now, keep it up Jason.
I also loved zorns playcalling,It was like Jason said, that dink and dunk stuff is for the birds.
Man I hope D Hall picks it up when season starts, that was just pathetic, pass rush is still not looking that great to me.
I too would like to see more of Aldridge, guys a burner.I know Portis likes to save it for the reg season so Im not that concerned, but he looks terrible

Well, that's ridiculous...Colt threw an AMAZING pass to mitchell for the td to nulify his pick-6. So no...he did NOT lose the game.
That being said, I was not impressed with Colt. He did not look good overall. He had a couple moments, but overall I'm not impressed...yes, I said it...I'm not impressed. I hope he still makes the team, I love the guy. But he is CERTAINLY leaving the door open for Chase.

On a side note, I do like what I saw out of Mason.

Hall will be fine. There's not a CB in the league that can handle Brady to Moss. You need to hurry Brady and pop the shit out of Moss after the catch. Otherwise, they will pick apart anyone.
One could argue that it was a "gunslinger's" turnover which cost us the game last night.
Agreed, for me it isnt just this one play, but a pattern that Ive seen over the last 3 games. Honestly, I think last season he was pretty aggressive with the ball as well, but they werent getting picked and taken back for 6. Its easy to fall in love with the "gunslinger" mentality(highrisk/highreward), I just dont think that adds up to a consistent winner.
A Gun Slinger? Colt? Puh-lease. He can't throw the ball further 40 yards.
Its not the distance he is throwing, its the holes he is trying to hit. And throwing directly through a defender isnt ever gonna work out well.

Hard to argue with that.

1) our offense scored 24 points, their offense scored 20. Their defense scored 7. I think it is justifiable to say that 7 points could be viewed as the swing in the game. Especially if you add in the fact that if the int had not been thrown, we would have most likely scored at least 3 (giving our offense 27 and theirs 20)).

2) This was the first game where Mason impressed me. He held his own against the first string, and on JC's TD run he had, what I thought was a nice chip block on a penetrating defender. Add that to DT's KR's and I might be going over to the dark side of calling for keeping Mason, and letting Rock go. Mea culpa.

I'm leaning that way myself. Mason has stepped his game up and if it came down to it I would rather have him in the offense than Cartwright. DT probably has more big play potential than Cartwright and did a good job in his first game returning KO's.

Re: I Was impressed!!!

Skins looked good , However, they still need to grow some teeth and end a game when they are inside of 2 minutes. The plays called in the last procession was lacking. Three runs at the middle and punt. Throw one deep or across the middle. Why not go for the win inside of 2 minutes?

I agree totally with the statement in bold. I said something along the same lines right here.

The door swings both ways. Saying Jason can "flat out play" based on 1 half of a preseason game is on par with saying he isn't capable of leading the Skins based on his poor play in his first two appearances this year.

Can't really dismiss his poor play as "just the preseason," and then turn around and praise him for good play in that same preseason.

Whether or not the outcome of the game matters, his first two games this year worried and frustrated me, and last night's game was a nice change. He played well.

Different circumstances my friend. In the first 2 games he barely played, 13 passes over 2 games makes it kinda hard, and frankly a bit unfair to draw any hard conclusions about his play. Last night he finally had the chance to get into the flow of the game and with 22 attempts in 2+ quarters I think we got a much better idea of what he's capable of, along with the rest of the offense for that matter.

I get what you're saying. Plenty of folks around here were throwing him under the bus after the Balt and Pitt games. I totally agree that it's foolish to condemn him based on those two brief appearances.

Last night he played solid but unspectacular. His performance definitely made me feel better about what he's capable of, but I'm not drawing any decisive conclusions from it. It was one half of one preseason game. Saying that he can flat out play based on a game where he didn't even throw a TD is a bit of a stretch IMO. It did however show he's not nearly as bad as a lot of Warpathers think. If you can extrapolate that kind of performance out over an entire season, I think we'll have ourselves a very solid quarterback.
