He's a player I wouldn't mind putting together a package of something like our 4th round pick this year and 3rd next year to move back up into the 3rd round to grab. He could easily fill the role of a young explosive receiver we need for 3rd down as well as kick returns.
For a fourth or fifth reciever? He's a nice to have who's stock will die down a lot once he becomes a player.

I think if we go the Colt route, his stock would do nuthing but rise with his best friend looking for hi down the field..........and it could open the door to move Kelly or moss for another pick.

Would anyone here move Kelly for a 4th rounder, or moss for a 3rd?

IDK, I dont want anymore sit and wait rookie WRs. If we go for a WR, go for one who is already some what established.

Malcom still has potential, it's too early to ship him off.

Moss maybe, but we would need to then pick up another WR which would probably include trading away picks (Marshall) or drafting one and i don't think any receiver past the 3rd round will produce like Santana will. and no, we don't want TO

I would move Moss for a third without a second thought, just wish someone was actually offering a third.

I don't think I'd trade Kelly for a fourth, but I might try to cash in on Thomas while his value is relatively acceptable. Still, if all I'm going to get is a fourth round pick, I'd rather hold on to Kelly/Thomas and take the 1/50 chance that one of them turns into a pro bowl performer in 2010.

Did anyone post this before? I just found it on HailRedskins.
Todd McShay backlash builds | ProFootballTalk.com
Once upon a time, Mel Kiper was the primary target of NFL scouts; Kiper has been supplanted by his on-air protege/rival at ESPN, Todd McShay. As McShay's profile increases, and as he takes on the likes of quarterback Jimmy Clausen for reasons that many league insiders believe have no merit, McShay becomes a magnet for criticism.
One of the things I don't like though about the arrogance of some NFL scouts is the fact that their job is still in an exact science where front office members frequently get fired for making bad picks and signings. They might know more then the TV scouts but it's not like they're never wrong. You know that wonderful all inclusive "for a reason, but don't really want to speculate" mentality.

At the same time one thing I notice about Scouts Inc is that very frequently you'll see a lot of guys with grades of 30 and 20 get drafted in like the 5th or 6th round. So it's not to far fetched to think that Scouts Inc is a little off rhythm with what NFL Scouts are seeing.

Well, now I know his background. Guys a lot older then I thought:
Todd McShay
Prior to joining ESPN, McShay worked full-time for “The War Room,” (1999-2006) a start-up scouting publication created by former NFL scout Gary Horton. It soon became a go-to source of information for 16 NFL scouting departments and became a crosscheck for CBS and The Sporting News. ESPN purchased the business in 2006 and changed the name to Scouts Inc.

McShay interned for Horton in the summer of 1998, after getting his first taste of college scouting and recruitment when he “cut film” for the University of Richmond coaching staff.

Before becoming one of the nation’s top NFL Draft analysts, McShay was the quarterback for the Swampscott (Mass.) High School football team (1991-94), and he was a backup quarterback for the University of Richmond (1995-97) before sustaining a back injury that ended his college career.

I think he could be our 3rd wr this year and within the next 2-3 have thomas move into the #1 spot and shipley would become our #2 wr. He had an insanely productive college career once put into the starting lineup and we haven't seen anything out of Kelly to warrant him being a lock to be 3rd on the depth chart. Shipley has a quick burst off the line, runs very clean routes, does a great job adjusting his body to catch passes that are a bit off target, and has no problem going across the middle. And on the finacial side, as a possible 3rd round pick he would come into the league under a very reasonable contract given his possible production since in college he scored a touchdown once every 7.5 times he caught the ball.
