Re: Huge FA Class in 2011 - But will anyone want to come here?
I wonder who people think is more likely to return in 2011? Haynesworth or McNabb. Maybe someone should start a poll on this

To make all encompassing, include Shanhan's son and Haslett in the poll. :cheeky-sm |
Some interesting news.... especially in regards to Sinorice Moss.

He's (almost) never been on the field! He's like a midget-version of Malcolm Kelly. |

I honestly think its possible, albeit unlikely that both could return. If Shanahan reviews film from 2010 and realizes we should go back to the 4-3, i'm sure Haynesworth could be brought back and be quite dominant. I think we could even stay in the 3-4 and keep Haynesworth if he swallowed his pride any. If we continued to use him like we did in the later half of the season, he could be quite a difference maker... even as a fulltime 3-4 DE. As far as McNabb goes, theres no way we let him walk. If a review of film indicated that Grossman was really not much better than McNabb would be in his 2nd year in the offense, then i'm sure the Shanahan's would be open to bring McNabb back - if Mcnabb changes his attitude. Shanahan has already laid the groundwork for this by 1) at the time of the benching, saying McNabb was the best QB and wasnt pulled earlier because we were still in the playoff race and gave us the best chance to win 2) yesterday, saying he regretted how he handled the mcnabb situation and not being more honest. Thus, in 3 or 4 months, Shanahan could easily say that everything in the last 3 weeks was to evaluate grossman since he wasnt under contract and spare McNabb from getting hurt. He could also say he didnt publically make that fact known because he wanted to see how Grossman performed under the assumption that he genuinely had a shot to earn the starting job in 2011. Obviously, the skins would much rather trade McNabb. But unless they can get that mythical 3rd and conditional 6th that Smootsmack mentioned the other day, I dont think there's any possible way we let McNabb walk. If shanahan kept a malcontent like Haynesworth around for 12 weeks, hed certainly bring McNabb back as a highlypaid backup who would take over the starting job by week 5 if Grossmans play merrited a demotion. |

Man, and I thought I was an optimist.
Chances of AH coming back: 0.0 Changes of DM coming back: 0.1 |
Re: Huge FA Class in 2011 - But will anyone want to come here?
I'm think it's more likely that Brett Favre would come here if we gave him some "real, comfortable jeans" for his thingy than either FAH or McFlabb coming here.

I had mentioned a few weeks back that Rogers and the Redskins were close to a new deal....well they're no closer now. In fact they may have slipped a bit further apart

That sucks. If Ike Taylor walks from Pittsburg, give him an offer. Solid corner |

Taylor is better than Rogers IMO |
Re: Huge FA Class in 2011 - But will anyone want to come here?
I want to keep Rogers. He's one of the better players on the team and in his prime. We are already looking at a significant amount of turnover this offseason...replacing Rogers with another free agent corner is just creating more turnover for no good reason.

I believe Los will stay, but that's just my opinion

ah man. I'd like some good news this winter, hoped (and still hope) to hear that he would re-sign. Can't blame him for wanting to test the market, but once players go that route it seems they are much less apt to come back to their old team. |
Re: Huge FA Class in 2011 - But will anyone want to come here?
I guess Rogers figured that since he finally held on to an INT that he's suddenly become an elite corner.
